Brazil v Argentina

Agreed that he seems more comfortable lying deep. Don't think he should be so rigid though. Has a good passing range and could be very effective box to box.

Yeah, I'm not suggesting he plays like Makelele or anything as he's got far too much talent to just sit. But I've most of his good work for Man Utd playing a lot deeper than I was lead to believe his natural position is.

Box to box is a perfect way to describe him I'd say.

If he wants to play deeper, I feel he has to read the game a lot better, as well as improve his positioning. Often the game just goes by him, and he's sucked into the play. Although these areas of his game will improve with experience, I don't want to see him play in such a defensive role for us, simply because I feel it goes against his natural instincts and seemingly stifles him.

This commentator is a stupid feck. ''the reffs had a great game that was a sending off'', no it wasnt.

Never a red. Mascherano rolled around there like he had just had his leg blown off.

So Lucas gets to rest out from a crappy 3rd place game while it's more likely Anderson will still need to play 90 minutes in it. Lucas can probably head back to Liverpool now. Would have been better off if Anderson get sent off.

<paranoid>Did Lucas plan this?</paranoid/>

That'll come with games. Its easy to forget that he hasn't played a lot of games (about 70 or so, if that?) in his professional career. So he's very inexperienced, especially playing as a more traditional central midfielder.

With games I'm sure he'll become a more complete footballer and fulfill is obvious potential he has.

I don't think he looked stifled last year playing for us, I thought he looked explosive at times but never shirked his defensive duties, which is pleasing.

Probably not, hes just horribly horribly bad at tackling didnt do much else right either.
