Horrendous again. Mark fecking Noble got past him today, he was so bad defensively. We miss Shaw a lot.
Spot on, young players need encouragement not dimwit fans blaming them for all their troubles at home.It was especially damning when he put up his hands to defend his face conceding a last minute penalty in the first half, right... Terrible.
Let's keep slaughtering the teenagers when we fail to perform as a team - because that's the United way right.
Everyones a fine backup, until the manager doesn't trust any of them to be subbed onNot as good as Shaw but he's a fine backup and it would be interesting to see him on the right.
He's not fine as a squad player.
One of our problems that our rotation options shouldn't even be at the club and he's one of them.
Yeah, and pair that with the fact he doesn’t really look that good going forward anyway — it’s very predictable from us on the fullback positions. There has always been exceptions to the rule but i'm not a fan of full-backs playing on their weaker side, it just stifles any natural width from an attacking perspective.
Exactly. Everyone in attack literally stepped back today when Williams ventured forward because he's right footed. So the option of him going directly down the byline and stretching play simply wasn't an option. With Williams coming in,it just crammed our attack. Zero width. There has always been exceptions to the rule but i'm not a fan of full-backs playing on their weaker side, it just stifles any natural width from an attacking perspective.
I'm not sure we had anyone available other than Fred.Exactly. Everyone in attack literally stepped back today when Williams ventured forward because he's right footed. So,surely we have someone who's also left footed at the club who could've played LB for today ?
Indeed. Dalot is not up to it,imo, and the jury is out of TFM,though I'm willing to give him time.I'm not sure we had anyone available other than Fred.
It's not really Williams's fault, i'm sure he'd rather be on the other side. TFM at Palace - didn't do much wrong but offered nothing going forward and barely crossed the half way line. Either of these or Dalot are not an option as a backup at LB for me.
