Bluemoon goes into Meltdown

That man has serious issues. He looks to me like he could for real hurt someone or himself. He needs treatment.

some girl on facebook posting pictures of her baby in a united baby gro. id love to thump the little twat

 what a cretin!....

the refs are bent, i've spoke to a few neautrals i know, who don't like utd or city but have watched the title race and they all seem to think that the refs are giving it them.

this includes a coventry fan, 2 chelsea fans, a spurs fan, a geordie and somebody who just tags along and doesn't support anyone but watches the sport quite a bit.

i didn't even put the thought it their heads, i just simply said "so lads, what do you think about youngs dive?". this was followed by them all agreeing "utd are just cheats, and it appears the refs are in on it".

halsey blew his cover today, i'm not talking about the penalty. i'm talking about when evra came together with a villa player, who cut his head open and was lay on the floor with a head injury. the rules state play must be stopped but the ref waved utd on whilst they were on the attack, ok he might not have seen the player down but why did he suddenly stop play when rooney lost the ball? and no before you say, he didn't turn round and notice the player he carried on watching utds attack until they lost it, then blew his whistle and checked what was going on.

fecking corrupt.

 it's been upgraded from 'My manc mate says' to a full blown story! Coventry fans! and a couple of title hopefuls who all wan't to be at the top of the table.

The bit in bold is classic.

why do they call United rags?

There was an article on here a few weeks ago but I can't find it because I didn't want to look.

According to an old City fan, it was a name United fans use to call their own team. Evidently, before WW2, during difficult financial times, our kits were in poor shape. They were said to resemble rags, and that is where the name came from

How it became a City name for United I can't really remember what the old man said.

Several theories. I go with the old-time playing strip looking like rags theory.

It's classic hipsterology.

This term is so old and so dated that nobody will really 'get' the reference but yet they all claim it to be the zenith of insults to United fans.

Okay, so taking a name that was lovingly applied to a bad team by loyal fans and using it for the offspring of those fans is some how an insult? Thats classic City

Whatever the logic, it's a lot better than using the Munich disaster as a way to insult the fans, as some people do...

POST OF THE THREAD

Let me prepare you for this one.

I believe this is the first time i have posted in this thread or possible even the rawk thread.I enjoy reading them, particularly when the pressure is off us and rubbing a bit of salt in the rivals wounds is possible. We have seen some deranged posts on rawk, particularly regarding benitez. this has gone so far that now it seems like a psychological epidemic so individual posts just accumulate to form one massive site full of mindless, irrational, paranoid rants like shit smeared all over a padded wall.

My nerves have kept me up tonight and i eventually ventured to bluemoon for the first time.i saw a thread about united's weaknessess for the game. when i opened it i was surprised that there was a genuinely interesting, if biased, attempt at a tactical appraisal. the poster comfortably acknowledged our strengths and seemed almost neutral when assessing evans as a player. anyway, the tactical interpretation was interesting as i said, though i disagree with parts of it. the beauty of it all came in his summation, where after an emotive battle cry to his "visionaries" came the final line of the piece:

"We must show them a steel nerve, a hard fight but also display the joyfulness of the game that they sold their footballing souls for."

Now that to me trumps every andy@doleoffice or venomous city post.it was made by a poster with an obvious knowledge of the game and the capacity to be unbiased towards our players. How then,in the name of god,can somebody take such leave of their senses and say without any apparent fear of hypocrisy that united have sold their footballing souls.it is genuinely fascinating that a person can be so incredibly blinded to the fact that city are the footballing definition of soulless and attempt to level the accusation at another team.if the mentality were applied to real life situations the person would without doubt be looked upon as being mental. how can he not see how fecking rich that statement is? i hope we hammer them.

disclaimer: utter restlesness has provoked this.

A Blue on Talk sport this evening pointed out a few similarities to 68's run in

At this precise date in 68 we were 2 points behind the rags (In old money it was then 2 points for a win not 3 as now.
We had a better goal difference.
We won the league playing Newcastle away.

History is repeating itself and by God we deserve it

Lol.

Wasn't the rags reference to do with us having to play at Maine Road because of Old Trafford being bombed, we were in a sense the poor relation?

Their first title since 79BC & the sheik couldn't be bothered to show up for the game.

Let them have their moment, the one day this century they actually have a right to be in meltdown.

Has anyone in the UK/Europe seen much fanfare over the City win? They seem.. 'quiet'?

I live in Aus so I am not going to vouch for Europe but I have not seen one City shirt or any info on the title win on TV, no promo stuff here. It's weird - I was expecting myself to blanket ban on seeing City stuff out of frustration over last year..

But oddly I have not seen anything in general?? It's a bit strange... I went into a few sports shops the other day and they all had United games on their telly . Racks of United/Liverpool/Arsenal/Chelsea shirts and the misc shirt's had a couple of City shirts toward the back.

Not whining, it just feels a little strange? Wondering if anyone is having the same time albeit closer to the fulcrum of the English game.

Very few in Ireland, the ones I have seen are some old fans, so I have more respect for them, then I do for the new fans they'll develop over the next few years.

My former coach is a City fan. The former Icelandic national goalkeeper is one as well. I think they are the only two known fans here.
Did meet a bloke from Norwich the other day and he mentioned that he's seeing more and more City tops in Norwich which he was disappointed in. I thought so too seeing as they have a team in the PL. Don't understand that mentality at all.

Seen a few JCL's come out of the woodwork in Adelaide. Few other 'rusted on' fans that are no longer ashamed of being a blue

There's a slightly noticeable difference here in Sydney, but not to the extent I expected. Not to worry, the JCLs will hop on the bandwagon soon enough. Tough times - the upcoming Community Shield match is present Chelsea fans vs. past Chelsea fans.

Where will allegiances lie?

Lol - yeah I am in Sydney as well. I always enjoyed going into Rebel and expected there to be City stuff everywhere but it was till United stuff and the City shit parked in the back on the racks of discount stuff.

 I have a mate who loves David Silva and basically 'supports' anyone who he plays for and he slowly caught the 'we're' and 'im manc' vibe through the season. It's funny his sense of self entitlement to rip on me for not winning the league last season.

Yeah it makes you

Me and my young lad were walking around a Westfield on the eve of the derby, him with his United kit on and I think over the course of the night (which was a good few hours, dinner, shopping, a movie etc) we saw about a dozen United shirts/caps/etc on people and only a single City jersey on someone.

Where abouts are you in Sydney?

The west, unfortunate Parramatta Eels supporter :( - I see a tonne of kids with United strips on!

Aus as well.

Fortunately I've not seen any City shirts.

Yep because we haven't got any glory hunting supporters, have we?
