Bluemoon goes into Meltdown

I'm not suggesting it is or that it isn't, I'm stating facts - it might be bullshit, people lie on the internet. As for hurting the guy, I don't think what people say to him on the internet will do anything to hurt him even more, much less comments on a Manchester United website. It's not as though I have signed up and started posting in his thread asking for proof or saying he is lying.

You are digging yourself into a hole here mate (again). If you don't believe a story, fine, but my first reaction to hearing something is not instantly "this is bullshit", next thought being to tell everyone else that it's probably bullshit. Have some fecking decency will you? If this is indeed as it appears, it is sympathy, not cynicism that is in order. Not posting any more about it would be a good idea.

My cousin lost his entire family in a housefire five or so years ago, poor guy never recovered from it and got hugely depressed, to make matters worse, he lost his life to cancer just under a year ago now. it affected our whole family, but it literally killed him dead.

i cant say i know exactly how he's feeling, but that post just brought it all back to me... i dont think none of my family ever recovered since that night.

fecking hell, is that immediate family? That must be unthinkably horrible.

Hmmm. Came into this thread for a laugh, and got this. Thats a tragity, blue red or otherwise. Sympathy to the guy and RIP the wife and daughter.

Best wishes to the lad, RIP to his wife and daughter.

Is that any worse than someone starting a thread about Asian fans disrupting the Munich rememberance day?

Yes it is.

One is about the loss of a goal in a football match and how she is out of place in the context of City fans feeling sad. Another is about the loss of life in a tragedy and how tourists interrupted the remembrance service.

Can't do the fancy quotes.... but.... er, if that happened to me, I don't think I'd be on the web posting about it.

Very strange.

Sorry if it's true, but it seems like a load of complete bollix to me.

Well people deal with stuff in different ways... or do you expect the world to conform to how you want it?

Besides, I really fecking doubt any of us have the first clue how we'd react to something like that.

Well yes, since those fans were disrupting the Munich rememberance, and this thread is basically saying "we don't want Asian people at our games"...So yes, it is worse.

So three days have passed now since this tragic accident. Has anybody heard one single mention of it anywhere? There is nothing in the national or even local press - and if you look at the stories that have been reported since saturday it seems impossible that this one would not be. The original thread on BlueMoon itself has been deleted, along with the subsequent condolence threads, and the moderators' announcement sticky saying that the poor soul requested that he be left alone to grieve, and that he felt it best that the forum move on. BlueMoon is being purged within seconds of any reference to 'the Fixer', including understandable requests for information. Does this, taken collectively, not strike anybody on here as a bit odd?

My first reaction? Who the feck would post something like that on a football forum?

It's fishy, to say the least.

Think it's time to get away from this now. If it is true it is tragic and I'm sure everyone on here passes on their condolences and sympathy for this lads tragic loss. It doesn't bare thinking about what he must be goign through and thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. It's best, as some have said on there, to leave the lad and subject in peace.

If it's not true it's sick, and to be honest I'm not sure speculating on whether this is genuine is particularly in good taste.

Think it's time to draw a line under it.

So the game was a fix eh?

Thought the referee gave Citeh the benefit several times.

lol :)

If it turns out that this has all been made up, then sadly it extends far beyond mere attention seeking bullshit. The mods on their website have at the very least been involved in covering the whole thing up - one of whom vehemently confirmed the veracity of the incident, claiming to have spoken to the OP and affirming several times - across numerous football forums - that it was true. When I first saw that thread I, like many other people across the country, felt a sadness that is surely inevitable on hearing of such a tragedy. I consider myself quite resilient, yet have thankfully never had to go through anything like that poster's purported tragedy. A great many people have though, and I can only imagine the gut-wrenching emotions that will have been roused by reading about this. If it turns out to be 'mere attention-seeking bullshit' then I firmly believe that the perpetrator and those on the forum who have aided in the dissemination of the story should be hung out to dry.

Spot on.

Whether or not we ever find out if there's a real tragedy behind that post, it shouldn't have been cross-posted into this particular thread in the first place.

From now on, let's stick to taking the piss out of them over football-related posts and football-related posts only.

Any further posts referring to that thread will be deleted.

Quite. Well said lad.

Aye, The silly twat actually labelled Micah Richards as "the new Duncan Edwards". I never saw Edwards play but I know some that did and they didn't think much of the comparison.

I bet you Edwards could outrun Paul Scholes ;)

Had a bit of a laugh when I saw Scholesy take him down.

 I had forgotten exactly how much of a complete tool Summerbee was

Someone actually mentioned Summerbee's "performance" on the way back from the game the other day, so had to catch up with it on Sky+. As well as the comments already covered in the other thread, I had to laugh when the only outrage he could muster about the Manchester Marvels selection was not that there wasn't a single player in it, but that Ryan Giggs should never have been picked ahead of George Best.

 Thats the only time that ive laughed at a Redknapp comment, when he said to Summerbee 'Cant believe you havent made that list Mike', sure he wasnt intending to make me laugh but I loved it.
