Bluemoon goes into Meltdown

A city fan at my work said Nastasic was let go because he was fond of getting pissed and coked up. Is this utter BS?

Was wondering what happened to him, just found out Schalke took him. Don´t know anything about his behaviour off te pitch but using coke seems a bit of stretch, getting pissed would be more likely.

City would never sell im to us, would they? Even if it meant balancing out their FFP-plans and all.

A girl I know went out with Georgi Kinkladze for a while. She said he was boring and shit in bed.

Why does using coke seem a stretch? Whenever a player is accused of using coke or another drug I always see everyone acting like it is impossible they would do that. Coke is easily accessible and shitloads of people in clubs are taking it. With the money a premier league footballer is on and how a lot of them likely splash the cash all over the place on a night out, I don't think it is a stretch to think a fair amount of them have used it.

Yes that's true, and there have been many examples in other sports so it would be a bit naive to think it wouldn't happen in football. Vaguely remember reading Van der Meyde was 'addicted' at Evorton, going wild almost every night, but I don't exactly know what he used and how frequently.

But with Nastasic it's very much the question if he's even drinking and partying, let alone sniff lines and risk insane fines and bans from the game a la Mutu. For a player at a well known club like city I doubt drug use would be a 'well known secret', obviously media would be all over it.

Leaves the system quick too, right?

I nominate Jonjo Shelvey.

I'd give anything for a woman to have an opinion on my bedroom skills, be it good or bad. That Kinkladze is one lucky mofo.

Yeah. There was a thread on Bluemoon about why Nastasic had been completely frozen out, and one person claimed he had 'heard' Nastasic got caught doing cocaine. Even a search on twitter for it, the home of bullshit rumours, brings up one or two references to it. It's bullshit, and the simple explanation is City wanted to sell Nastasic, he had offers elsewhere, but wasn't willing to take a pay-cut (worth adding, these were Italian sides, and apparently were trying to give him a significant pay cut), so we froze him out the team.

There was a rumour that the reason Carroll took so long to come back from his 'injury' was that he actually had a drugs problem.

They were all at it in the 90's, I understood, the massive increases in income following the introduction of the PL, not much to do all day after the training session etc

Didn't Wilshere do coke for a while? According to twitter, he regularly went down to Las Vegas on weekends. If I recall, this was in 2013.

In mersons book he says that when he was with Gazza at Middlesbrough they lived together. After training they would buy 10 bottles of red wine, a load of sleeping tablets and bet £10k on who would fall asleep first.

Cocaine is also a stimulant and can actually have a positive effect on a players fitness levels and it only stays in someones system for 72 hours at most so I would think lots of footballers would probably use it for recreational purposes. More then marijuana which sticks around for weeks.

Oh yes, I forgot, coke is good for you.

So what you are saying is that cocaine is a performance enhancing drug? Excellent, they should all be at it in that case.

What actual point are you trying to make here, or is it just a joke, like?

I'm not saying it's good for you but neither is alcohol. What I'm trying to say is that Cocaine is harder to detect in someones system compared to other drugs and I'm sure professional athletes would know this. Low intake of cocaine can produce performance-related effects that include increased reaction times, improved attention span, higher states of alertness and lower susceptibility to fatigue.

and also talk complete and utter bollox, Brendan Rodgers must be racking up lines in the dug out

Unless a player was still pissed off his nut from the night before, there's no way coke would be useful as a performance enhancer in modern football.

True, but even if he got away, he'd inevitably find him again sometime later and proceed to tell him exactly the same story.

He took so long because he was getting lagered up every night with his girlfriend in a pub in Walthamstow - or so my mate who drinks there tells me. To be as quick footed as he appears to be is somewhat of a miracle.

Perhaps, but you'd need a bump every 15 minutes or so, which might look a tad suspicious during a match.

Cocaine would have very adverse effects on one's fitness levels and would be very detrimental to a football player's long term career if one were to do it habitually.... cocaine is a hell of a drug!

Yeah I would agree that prolonged use will not have a positive outcome. But it wouldn't surprise me one bit to find that some players may use it from time to time.

Really? Bluemoon is the most vile sports forum on the internet.

Agreed. Imo, Bluemoon is way worse than RAWK. Rawk is a collection of failed writers and amateur philosophers who dabble in conspiracy theories. Bluemoon goes far futher in its bitterness when it comes to United. Rag, C**t and scum are used in every other post about us. They call OT the swamp.

Rawk is funny, Bluemoon is like reading the diary of a lunatic.

How's a blue moon thread become a debate about the effects of cocaine ?

I'm surprised it's taken this long tbh. That said, I'd actually be relieved if I found out that they were all off their heads. Unfortunately, I think they are speaking with sound(ish) mind.

Because of the blood tests that are done. It would be very public by now.

So what are the excuses for that? Surely they have enough members and season ticket holders for a game against Barcelona?

Just rang up, they only have 2 individual tickets left in separate blocks! Probably their excuse is literally to sell off singles scattered around.

They won't have a large fan base for another 5/10 years or so assuming they remain successful.

Top clubs including us only have so many fans because well, we are successful. Horrible truth of football.
