Bluemoon goes into Meltdown

He did say he loves English football, and wants to retire there.

However, the latest declaration from the Arsenal manager about his future suggests PSG may be left disappointed. “I can see the rest of my life in England, why not?” he said. “I feel comfortable in this country because we share a common passion for football and as well I am very thankful for this country for having accepted me and giving me a chance.
“I am happy on the football pitch.”

Maybe Wenger just feel comfortable already with Arsenal; but for me, he would be my first target if I were City's owner. If City are willing to give him a long lucrative contract (as United did with Moyes) and excellent financial backing, those could turn anyone's head.

And seems like City's owners are more patient with their managers, compares to the circus at PSG and Real. They're kinda stick to their managers, until it's proved that he's totally shit (like Hughes), or turn locco (ala Mancini).

But Mancini won 3 trophies in 3 years. :(

He was done for before that IMO. Winning the league sort of screwed up the owners plans.

I think there was more going on behind the scenes. The rumours of him not being well liked at the training ground etc.

And last season was a disaster - especially in Europe. He looked tactically inept at times.

Bringing Tevez back may have worked in the short term but destroyed him in the end. How can a manager have any credibility when he publicly states that Tevez will never play for him again, give him 6 months off then bring him back into the team without so much as an apology. Same goes for Balotelli, that went on far to long, so I'd imagine the rumours about the training ground were indeed correct.

That was one off the big differences between him and Fergie. Fergie was never afraid to get rid of a big name if it was in the best interest of the club, no matter how good the player he was.

Perhaps. The club undermined Mancini's position - but its indicative of modern football - look at Rooney's behavior and he's still at the club. The fans forgive easily and his performances wehn he came back were impressive.

Fergie had it right - generally to move players on if they're difficult, where he could. Again, Rooney casts a little doubt on that - I suspect Fergie mellowed a little with age and realised that Rooney was key to taking the team forward at the time. Players have been binned for less.

I think the difficulties Mancini had, in all seriousness, show that its not that easy to put togther a team full of superstars and ego's.

Mancini used the Tevez tantrum as a diversion from what was an embarrassing performance against Bayern. I'm not supporting Tevez, in fact he should never have played for City ever again. However the incident allowed Mancini to escape scrutiny over his ineptitude in Europe.

No player should ever refuse to come on, that aside I agree that he used the situation to his advantage but it ended up losing him the dressing room.
Bringing back Tevez may have won him the league but it cost him the dressing room IMO

Putting it together is easy, it's keeping control of it over a number of years which is difficult, as Mancini and countless Chelsea managers have found out.

I think the only way Wenger will ever leave Arsenal is if they sack him, and they'd be mad to do that so I can't ever see it happening. He'll retire there. Or maybe semi-retire into international management.

I agree, 8 years without a trophy and he's still there. Any other club and he would be gone by now. Arsenal board know they will get no one better and he loves the club, I'd say he will give it another 3-4 seasons then retire.

And various managers at Real Madrid.

Such a shame really. Some lesser managers (i.e. Benitez) could be viewed as better manager by next generation, just because of the trophies he won.

Mike Summerbee has hailed City's history makers – and reckons Manuel Pellegrini's marvels are so good they silence their own fans!

The Blues legend believes the quadruple hunters can usher in a glorious era at the Etihad Stadium similar to that the club enjoyed while he was a player.

“They have got so much ability,” he said.

“Someone said to me at a match the other day that it was very quiet and that the crowd weren't making much noise.

“I told them it was because they were in awe of what they were watching. I was in awe."

They're not in awe - they're in bed.

I'd settle for that... One league title, one FA Cup and one League Cup. Ie, beat Sunderland at Wembley and then feck off back to obscurity.

Our footy is so good it stuns the fans into silence. Major LOLS I think the kids would say.

Nothing to do with having sh!t fans, and not that many of them then

They don't have any london based city fans, that's the real joke. They're trying so desperately to be United.

City do themselves no favours. Always good to put a smile on my face.

From their United thread today:

The rag cnuts are all over Facebook celebrating like they have won something tonight !! just shows how far they have fallen when the only time the can raise their heads up and sing is when we lose !! Hate the pox ridden feckers !!

But why do refs create special rules for the scum - the rapist should have been sent of - simples. Then down to 10 and 1 goal up they would have struggled. WTF was the ref thinking - clearly gave the scum chance to sub him before he would have to send him off - those are not the rules you bottle job.

Noticed BBC MOTD didn't show RVP's displeasure and shaking his head when getting subbed. Agenda lol

The last one is from yesterday actually but worth a mention I feel.

Agenda lol.

They're a balanced bunch over there though. I imagine there were a few of them completely outraged that Ben Foster didn't see red, or at least get penalised for his blatant handball outside the box.

as if anyone and everyone isn't making hay out of the fact that RvP's an easy target for such speculation these days

Saw this earlier. Funny when you see it in black and white.

After nearly 7 years and £1.8 billion spent they have won:

1 League (2012)
1 FA Cup (2011)
1 League Cup (2014)

Would be even more funny if Wigan end up winning the Cup again.
