Blow it all on Torres (before Chelsea does)

Will never happen, and I don't partcularly want it to, but it would be :hilario: to witness scouse reactions if it did.

With the three players averaging around £15 million each, the total valuation of the Torres offer would be in excess of the Ronaldo fee.
.
.

Carlo Ancelotti will consider which players to use as bait to tempt Liverpool: Jose Bosingwa, Nicolas Anelka, Ricardo Carvalho, Deco, Salomon Kalou and Paulo Ferreira.

I'm pinning my hopes on this Hernandez fella. All the greats had to start somewhere and hopefully we've uncovered a blinder. Stranger things have happened (remember that Ronaldo fella?)

Seeing as it's Rafa's nose for the transfer we're talking about, then a proposal of a straight swap for Ferrera and Deco ought to do it

If Liverpool accept anything other than 60m of hard cash then they need their heads looking

1. We don't have £55m
2. We already have Wayne Rooney in Torres's position
3. He's a crock
4. He wouldn't move to us
5. There's no value in the market

I think he would but his club wouldn't sell him to United. Big difference.

Considering who's running the club now, they have little knowledge of the club, rivals, etc. Anyone remember the Man Ham comments? I personally think they'll accept the biggest offer, and it comes down to Torres agreeing to terms with the club. The fee would be 60m plus IMO. If, a big if, the Glazers ponied up the biggest offer, and Torres agreed terms, I could see the deal going through. The LFC ownership is all about profits and clearing debts. Hicks himself said he's hoping to make 200m profit when he sells his share of the club. And I have zero doubt most of the money would go into the owner's pockets.

I agree there is a need for 4-3-3 on some occasions and that is why SAF bought Hargreaves and Anderson. But when he bought Tevez and later Berbatov it was to play a 4-4-2 predominantly, with adaptable players who can work well as a pairing, but with the intelligence to link to midfield. Berbatov just hasn't worked out most of the time in this sense. I think Torres and Rooney would work.

I personally think it's more due to the midfield problems than Berbatov. I guess it depends on if you're in the anti-Berbatov camp or reality.

Has Torres ever tracked back?

Liverpool's owner want/need cash, not players plus less cash. So they will sell to the club that offers the most cash up front I'd guess and maybe they would even sell to us but I doubt that we could or would stump up as much hard cash as Chelsea so it is probably a moot point.

Nah, the issues with Berbatov is the way he plays.. the expressions on the pitch... Its something you'd say, doesn't blend to our play.

He just isn't the fans favorite, and of course he's always going to be scapegoat for not scoring enough goals ( Which obviously we've seen quite a few bad misses last season )
and of course all transfer muppets are waiting for either Benzema/Silva/Villa/Suarez

The chances that Liverpool sell Torres to United is as big as Gary Neville taking over from Rafa at Pool

  • Manchester United should not, and as long as Sir Alex Ferguson is the manager will not do any kind of business with Liverpool Football Club.
  • Fernando Torres is not worth whatever he would cost for us, he is injured half the time, and for all we know he might not even have a long career left. Sooner rather than later, those injuries will make a impact on his pace, flair, quite possibly other physical aspects of his game.
  • Not to mention close to £200,000 a week for a player whom quite possibly won't play much due to his injury problems, he is a expensive guy. His injury prone are more likely to get worse than better, as he grow older.

There are tons of better options.

He's played ten fewer league matches than Rooney over the last three seasons.

The way some bang on around here you'd think Torres spent more time in the treatment room than Hargreaves.

It will never happen he won't join us and Liverpool wouldn't sell him to us

He'd join us for the CL football.

But you're right, Rafa would never sell him to us. We should have flogged them that judas donkey Heinze all along.

Silly season in its prime...

Chelsea chiefs fear Liverpool ace Torres wants Man Utd move

Chelsea fear missing out on Liverpool striker Fernando Torres to Manchester United.

The People says Chelsea insiders claim Torres has cooled on the idea of a journey south and would prefer to switch to Manchester United, even if such a move would cause uproar on Merseyside.

Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti hinted on Saturday that their pursuit of Torres could be over.

"We have Didier Drogba, Nicolas Anelka and Daniel Sturridge I dont think we need other strikers," said Ancelotti.

For all of United boss Sir Alex Ferguson's playing down of a big-money striker signing this summer, he did admit they tried for David Villa before he joined Barcelona.

hahahaha Torres to United.

That bastard turned us down so many times, it ain't funny. No way now that he is a liverpool legend(doesnt take much these days), will he come here.

I'd love to see him here for a few reasons, but one main reason.
Can you imagine RAWK if he came to us? The place almost fell apart when Rafa left!
Also y'know, if he could stay fit he's awesome.

Far too much for a player that has far too many injuries.

No thanks.

One of the worst rumours ever.

But boy would it be sweet seeing the scouse reaction.

What the feck is this?

People are clearly bored after all the muppet-targets keep rejecting us

Never ever happen. Maybe when he is 39 years old, way over his prime, had a shitload of injuries, and is a free agent after just playing for a relegated team....then it's a maybe..just.

We cannot unfortunately find 55 mil to sign him.

Even if we did there is no way Pool will sell or he will move to us.
