I can't see us signing both Silva and James (I can't really see us signing James at all tbh). We need a striker as well, and I doubt we're signing three attackers this window.

I don't really disagree that we might need three, but we have needs all over the pitch and I just don't see us signing 6+ players. Plus, attacking players are the most expensive. Signing three starting XI quality attacking players in one window would leave little room to fill those other needs. We need about 3. 2 minimum
Yeah it's either or. To be honest either of those two I'm happy with. We need a striker James/Silva type and probably another pacy winger. We need someone like James more than we need someone like Bernado Silva
Isn't he another number 10?
This would be a typical post Fergie Man United signing. Unproven and very expensive.
Don't let this Monaco team fool you. They are a well oiled machine. Their top scorer flopped big time when came here.
I am sorry i had transfer tweets open i thought i was posting there. Why post a tweet about Griezmann in a Bernardo Silva thread ?
That's totally what I would do just from reading this forum. I've only seen Monaco a few times this season and that's it.

You genuinely made me laugh.
Manchester United have stepped up their efforts to finalise a deal for Monaco midfielder Bernardo Silva, according to fresh reports in France.
Silva helped Monaco clinch the French league title in a season that also saw Leonardo Jardim’s side reach the Champions League semi-finals, with Europe’s biggest spending clubs now ready to swoop for some of their star names.
Teenager Kylian Mbappe has emerged as one of the most wanted men in European football after his stellar performances for Monaco this season, but it appears United manager Jose Mourinho has his eyes on his compatriot Silva as he embarks on what is certain to be a big summer of spending.
French TV station Canal+ claimed on Wednesday that United were already in advanced talks to sign Silva, who has won possession in the attacking third more times (38) than any other player in the French top flight this season.
Silva, 22, has a reported price tag of around £70m and it appears he is ready to make a move away from Monaco if the right club agrees a fee.
“I am finishing my third season in Monaco, who gave me the opportunity to play at a higher level,” he was quotes in the French media.
“But of course, every player dreams of playing for the best teams and in the best divisions one day. I’m no exception.”
However, Silva tempered his comments about a possible move away from Monaco by suggesting one of the brightest young teams in European football could flourish if they stayed together for another season.
“If everyone stays, we can do something special,” he added.
“Here, you play in the Champions League and to win trophies. It’s the very highest level. All the players are happy and want to continue. The team is young and wants to win trophies.
“We were in the Champions League quarter-final in the first season, in the semi-final this season.
“When you win, it’s easier to have a good atmosphere. But since the start, things have gone well on and off the pitch. It’s a pleasure to play at Monaco.”
Silva would appear to be the ideal fit for a Mourinho midfield, with his creativity and relentless work rate qualities that could enhance a United engine room that has lacked spark at times this season.
He would also appear to be a more suitable signing for United than Real Madrid play maker James Rodriguez, who has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks.
He'll be pony in the PL. Same as Mkhitaryan.
Why? Are you saying youtube videos are fiction? He's tiny as feck and would disappear in loads of game. No doubt a frustrating player. A small Nani.

It may not be a popular opinion on this board but I honestly rather James than Bernardo Silva. His goalscoring record is quite poor considering he plays for a very attacking Monaco side that scores billion goals. We need someone like James more than we need someone like Bernado Silva
He can also be a creative & attacking force for Champions League matches but who cares these days...He'll be pony in the PL. Same as Mkhitaryan.
I do love the mentality of the transfer period. Here's the pattern.
-Player has a great season: PLEASE SIGN HIM HE'S EXACTLY WHAT WE NEED
-We get linked to him: Be a good signing. Hope it comes off.
-Reports we are in for him: he's like Nani. Do not want. Rather buy someone who were arent linked with.
-Player signs for a rival: "fecking hell, Mourinho."

What are his main attributes? And why shouldn't we go for him?Agree. Honestly think he'd struggle, seems to have zero attributes conducive with our teams needs.

Technical ability on the ball, close dribbling. That's probably it.
I have never gotten the David Silva comparisons beyond the last name and left foot. David Silva relies less on his pace (which he really doesnt have much of) and is suited to playing through the middle while Bernardo Silva is more suited to the flanks.I've nothing to add to this thread apart from that he's the closest thing to David Silva that I've ever seen. They're like clones. If we sign him at 22 it'll be an incredible coup. Although I quite fancy Hamez as well. Sign both feck it. As I think Mata will probably leave either this summer or the next.
