Can anybody tell me after todays performance will he be any good for us??
He was on the losing side and failed to have an effect, watch the consensus pendulum swing the other way!

Yes, I really think Silva is a very good player. But, I feel like there's a lot of overrating of Silva and underrating of James going on.

James is for me a better player, but I would if pushed much rather sign Silva over James as he is much more the type of player we need, James as good as he is, is much more the type of player we already have in abundance, regardless of not if whether he is better.

Want this guy so bad. kinda disheartening to see the links with james rodriguez instead

Yeah I hope whatever happens with James doesn't hinder any plans we had for Silva. I would rather sign Silva for the long term benefits even though James is the better player currently.

This. We have to trust Jose I guess but it is a bit underwhelming that we are getting James when we could have gotten Silva for the same price instead.

I personally think he'll stay another season. If so, we'll definitely be in for him to play on our RW next summer.

Can't agree more. Better dribbler, much younger and I'd argue already just as good as James.

B. Silva has Ballon D'or potential, his control of the ball is unbelievable.

If we could sign anyone this summer I'd want it to be Silva, he's fantastic.

According to Canal +, Bernardo Silva could get away from AS Monaco and neared Manchester United!

Jason Burt (Telegraph chief correspondent) also said this week that we are interested.

I was just reading earlier that he's been talking about wanting to play in one of the bigger leagues in the world. Think he's definitely off this summer and i hope we get him.

I also recently read that he's currently on €35k p/w. Seems crazy really. There was an interview with him and Simao at Bernardos tiny flat that he lives in. For such a talented footballer it was weird to see him living in what looked like a bog standard holiday apartment.

Well I could imagine the property prices in Monaco.

Will remain, will not? Bernardo Silva is very courted for a transfer this summer, like many of his young Monegasque team-mates ... We talk about him in England. And according to our confreres of Canal + , Manchester United would have a head start. The Portuguese international could take the direction of Old Trafford in order to evolve under the orders of his compatriot José Mourinho. " A strong trend ," according to our colleagues. Bernardo Silva, 22, is under contract until 2020 at the ASM. He put his luggage on the Rock in 2014, coming from Benfica. A loan with option to buy at first. The bosses of the club of the Principality had disbursed 15.75M € in January 2015 to lift it.

Curiosity to see where will he play if he goes to United, I doubt current Mourinho can take the best of him as Jardim did last 3 years.

Just isn't decisive enough to get me extremely excited. He is however exceptional on the ball, one of the most technically gifted players in the world. A not so decisive no 10 can be a frustrating watch regardless of how talented he is.

He is only 22 though. His end product will improve.

We need players that can create out of nothing and Silva belongs to that category.

Can't we just throw 300m at Monaco and send a bus over for Mbappe, Silva, Mendy and Fabinho?

That in itself is worth getting excited about. If he's not decisive enough he is also only 22. And goals and assists are by no means the only way to be decisive. Iniesta bossed teams and was decisive without producing great numbers. He was as influential and decisive on games as 40 goal a season strikers.

And for a team that has needed technical quality, I think the prospect of a player described as above in bold, is something we should welcome with opens arms.

Just watched him on Youtube for the first time. He would be useless in PL.

Canal+ are reliable, right? Signing Silva and Rodriguez would make sense. They're both flexible and will improve our play in the final third quite a bit.

Silva would be class, really hope the rumour is true.

That's totally what I would do just from reading this forum. I've only seen Monaco a few times this season and that's it.

Both wouldn't make much sense though, unless we sell Mata. Which I wouldn't be entirely opposed to, but I'm not sure how much more James would bring to our game that Mata doesn't. Both players need support and players around them to link up with in order to contribute effectively. Bernardo Silva on the other hand can create important moments out of absolutely nothing. His dribbling skills are up there with the best in the world. Very David Slivaesque.
