So, I didn't see a topic so I created one. Love this kid. Fast, agile, intelligent and a great shot. Plays mostly on the wings at Atletico Mineiro (with Ronaldinho, Jô, Rever), and last year easily outshone them, imo.

Was heavily linked to Dortmund, and I reckon he would do great there. He will be a brilliant winger.

Obligatory Youtube Compilation:

Might be coming on today against Italy, even with Lucas ahead in the pecking order. Fingers crossed.

Not seen him play but he's a beast on Football Manager. Probably one of the highest rated young players on the game for what that's worth (probably very little but still)
That flick on 1:12...ridiculous.

Just come on and was involved in Brazil's 4th goal.

Bernard, Fred and Oscar.

Was watching mexico and japan so no idea what he did today but he looked really talented in the few cameos ive seen him play for Brazil. Will be keeping an eye out for him

We've been very heavily linked with him as well, agent said we're in for him etc.

Likely nothing will come off it but my Brazilian friend raves about him, thinks he's going to be the next big Brazilian thing. He's very excited about him.

The commentator said he's going to Porto.

Nothing's been decided yet. As far as I can see, he's only really been linked to us, Dortmund and Porto but it always seems to vary in the media who wants him most at what point, what team he wants to go to etc etc.

I hope Dortmund get him.

Why not us? We could do with a winger. I don't think Young's going to impress much next season and will probably be moved on afterwards. Bernard can get some time to settle in and hopefully, strike up a good partnership with Zaha so those two could sort out the future of our wing play. Having four wingers in the squad is a must anyway with our injury record of late.

AVB: "Bernard's a player that we monitor like many others, but I think Tottenham will do nothing regarding them."

We could do with a winger but I doubt we'll buy another one. He's been linked with Dortmund a lot and I really think he'd develop well there.

No wonder he's so good, he just stops his watch and runs through to score.

Aye, Dortmund's the place to be right now for any young talent wanting to develop the right way.

By those accounts it probably means we've scouted him but there's not been any contact, dismay we were happy enough to see him go to Porto and see how he performs before making any moves.

Well you're quoting a Spurs fan there, so I don't know if we (United) were ever in for him.

Looks great from that compilation but he's really short. Usually I don't think that the height is that important in football but he's even shorter than Giovinco, and is about an inch shorter than the average woman height. Moving to a physical league could really be a problem.

On the bright side, from that video (cause I have only seen him playing 1 time and that tonight) he seemed to have a fantastic acceleration, great spped and a rocker shoot.

Dortmund and Porto will turn him into a quality player. He's tiny though.

He needs to be called bernardinho to be taken seriously.

In my expert opinion, which, by all accounts, is based on his excellent name and watching that six minute video, we should buy him.

Wtf is gong on with Brazilian names?

Bernard playing the ball to Jo, who crosses for Fred to score... it's just stupid.

In 2002 we had Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, Juninho and Ronaldo, now we have Fred, Oscar, Jo & Bernard

Thanks Obama

I hope we sign him. I miss a trickster around here. That said he seems to be awfully expensive, and if he comes it will probably be with he help of of an investment fund.

No we don't
I think that's correct. A deal can always happen, but a lot has changed since 2007. Porto now targets plastic oil clubs, because they willing to pay more, both to the players and to ourselves (and they have to, since there is little they can offer beyond money). I think Hulk could have very well gone to Chelsea or other Premiership club for some €35-40m a few years ago, but nowadays with a Zenit willing to pay even more than that it's obvious to who we're going to sell. Moutinho/James are another example. If the likes of Monaco didn't exist, than they would be going to better clubs for less money. We're selling to inferior wealthier clubs now. FFP in full force. It's doing wonders for European football.

Supposed to be a big talent, right? Could be a good for le arse.
