Berbatov - "It was inevitable"
The Sun
One of the summer's most drawn out transfer sagas has finally come to a close, The Sun can reveal. In a sensational £27million transfer, Berbatov will finally ply his trade in the red shirt of Manchester United, and could possibly start against Newcastle on Sunday for the sides' first Premiership game of the new season.
This will come as a shock to Spurs fans who were expecting some form of evidence to be presented in an imminent court case against the Premiership champions. However, with all parties involved striking an agreement, it is unlikely that such evidence ever existed.
Fergie shoots down demons of Van Nistelrooy's departure
Sir Alex Ferguson is sure to be delighted that he has finally repaired what may have felt like a gaping wound in his squad since the departure of Dutch hit-man, Ruud Van Nistelrooy. Even though the team has gone on to achieve domestic and European success since his exit, the signing of a centre forward has been deemed a necessity by the United management.
Upon signing for Manchester United, Dimitar Berbatov expressed his desire to compete on all fronts, and stated that the chance to play in Europe was too good an opportunity to turn down.
"The signing was simply a matter of when, not if. When a team such as this comes in for a player, you don't often get a second chance. I have this second chance and I intend to grab it with both hands. Competing for the top prize in England and Europe is something that I have always wanted to do, and I am sure that this team are able to match my ambitions."
It is said that many fans at Old Trafford have been frowning at such a fee, but there is no doubt that Dimitar Berbatov possesses the combination of skill, arrogance and physique that would allow him to be an instant hit in a United team that is as flexible as it is invigorating to watch. The Bulgarian scored 23 goals last year for Spurs, but it is worth noting that his productivity stretches way beyond his ability to hit the back of the net.

It's sad you spent so much time thinking that up and now you're going to get banned for it. Bit of a waste of time.
