Have we made a counter bid yet? surely it time now for us to act.

Don't you mean by the end of today? Because today has already started.

Today has already started, but it hasn't ended.

Pedantic feck!

This place is going to explode, either into a giant sperm pool if he signs for us, or a mass-transfer suicide pact that will wipe millions off the face of this earth.

So called United fan wants SAF sacked on SSN.Must be an excited shitty fan.

FACT I HAVE HEARD FROM A MEDIA SOURCE -

There is a rush of media driving around to the house of City Player Martin Petrov, where they have been told he is sitting down with Man City people....

United Fan on SSN

"Fergie should have ended this Berbatov saga weeks ago. I think, unless we sign a striker, we won't win a single trophy.

And i hope Fergie is sacked by January. He should have retired last year after the Champions League Final."

:lol::lol::lol::lol: What a TWAT!

Relax everybody..

"However, the move for Berbatov is unlikely to result in anything other than complicating United's summer-long pursuit of the player, particularly after United today completed the sale of Louis Saha to Everton.

Berbatov, who is believed to be en route to Manchester, has already made it clear he has set his heart on moving to Old Trafford and the chances of him changing his mind to join City are believed to be minimal, if not non-existent - even if there might be more money available to him at Eastlands."

Now that is a throwaway paragraph if I ever saw one.

Two things

1. If he does sign for City (which remains a very big "if") this whole Arab takeover business will have been a massive curve-ball. Completely impossible to predict and shouldn't have meant that we were any more willing to pay over the odds before now. We've had Levy and co over a barrel, right up until all this Arab cash entered the equation. Which makes all the whining about United fecking this deal up kind of silly.

2. If you're the Norwegian fan-club bloke - who broke the story that first soured relations between United and Spurs - how scared would you be about meeting Fergie, if this all goes tits up? On a scale of 1 to 10?

1. People will say we should have had it sealed earlier than the last minute - A few million shouldn't have been an issue when we've sold Saha, and Pique and offloaded Dong.

2. 9.99975

He will sign for us, 24 million.

This bid by city is a statement, showing they can challenge and beat us in the transfer market. There are several other players they could have gone after yet they have chosen the one we have be pursing for a long time because they are our rivals.
The fact remains Berbatov wants to move to win trophies, now they are never guaranteed but he has a higher chance winning them in a red or even white shirt for that matter then he has in a blue one.

Lets all loosen our collars and put down the blades!

What the feck has happened !?

More than 2000 people viewing the transfer forum too. Caf explosion imminent.

No he doesn't want to go to city. Which makes City's offer a nonentity really. It doesn't matter whether City offer 28 or 34 the player won't go there. he'll stay at spurs. This isn't really about money. Spurs want the player to leave but not to United. They would sell him to Barcelona for 25!

But Berbatov travelled to City anyway, presumably on the advice of his agent so that at least he is in Manchester when we finally get this deal wrapped up. I reckon Hughes doing us a favour. Get Hughes in Manchester - get the deal wrapped up and then Campbell can go to City on Loan as thanks.

Tx

Any obvious flaws?

The whole point of Berbatov moving was to better his career, to play in his dream time, to be surrounded by as talented individuals as himself.

Nowhere above does City fit into any of that.

I can't see him going there to be honest.

Hughes told Sky Sports News: "We have made an offer, I think it's been agreed between ourselves and Tottenham, and it's really about the boy making a decision.

"I'm as stunned and excited by this as the fans are.

"It's really important that we have a good season this year, there's been a lot of disruption and a lot of negative publicity surrounding the club.

"But that's been wiped away in one foul swoop and we can move forward in a positive fashion."

Now its the Beep turn to join the ABU wankfest....

Man City launch bid for Berbatov
Man City attempt to sign Dimitar Berbatov
Berbatov has admitted he is keen to leave Spurs to play in the Champions League

Manchester City have made a bid in excess of £30m to sign Spurs' Dimitar Berbatov from under the noses of rivals United, BBC Sport understands.

The striker has been linked with Manchester United all summer, but the Red Devils have been reluctant to pay Tottenham's asking price.

But City's new owners Abu Dhabi United Group have wasted no time in moving for the 27-year-old Bulgarian.

City are also eyeing Valencia's David Villa and Stuttgart's Mario Gomez.

Manager Mark Hughes said he expects to meet with Berbatov on Monday.

Hughes admitted the turnaround in the club's fortunes has surprised both himself and the fans.

"I'm stunned and excited," he told Sky Sports. "Me and them both are very excited by what's going on.

"There have been a lot of disruptions and negative publicity but that's been put to the side in one fell swoop."

Lets face facts here. There is a very real chance of him going to Man City. Some people can be highly convincing when they need to be. His agent, Mark Hughes and Martin Petrov whispering in his ear cant be good for our chances. But the decision is still up to him. We just need to make things a little easier by preparing a more attractive offer to Spurs than what we currently have.

Why don't we sell Campbell for 30 million to City, buy Berbatov for 35 million to make sure, and spend the remaining 25 million on Rossi.

Yeah, that would be a shocker.

SSN: Fergie in car with Berbatov on their way to Carrington.
