Dimitar Ivanov Berbatov (Bulgarian: Димитър Иванов Бербатов) (born 30 January 1981 in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria) is a Bulgarian footballer who plays as a striker for Manchester City F.C. He is captain of the Bulgarian national football team.

Done deal guys, Wiki says so.

There's more than a glimmer of hope. People on here have convinced each other he is going to City on the basis of absolutely nothing. He is going to meet Sparky? So what? That doesnt mean anything.

All three options - 1) come to us 2) go to City 3) stay at Spurs are all perfectly possible.

Only he hasn't gone anywhere.

All that's happened is that City have made a bid, which has been accepted by Spurs. Sparky is "planning" on meeting him but we've no idea whether or not Berbatov has any intention of even listening to their offer. I mean, why would he?

This is no different to Cardiff City accepting our bid for Ramsey, before he went to Arsenal.

Mark Hughes has told Sky Sports News that Spurs have accepted Manchester City's shock bid for Dimitar Berbatov.

The Bulgaria international has been a target for Premier League champions Manchester United throughout the summer, but City have now stepped in with an audacious last-minute move.

City's offer for Berbatov is reported to be in excess of £30million and would set a new British transfer record.

Hughes revealed that a fee had been agreed with the North London club and he now plans to hold talks with the talented striker.

SSN are a bunch of WUM's, I mean who gives a flying feck what spastic 13 year old 'fans' think about deals and taking every email they get from some ITK who is sitting masturbating with a towel with duck tape wrapped around his head thinks. FFS until official word comes through the should try and atleast put on a professional front.

Berbatov will not be coming to us now. :(

Worst summer ever in my memory as a fan.

That is a fecking sad state of affairs if that is true.

You probably said that in the heat of the moment and didnt mean it. If you did then there is something wrong with you.

If you judge your summers by transfer activity then perhaps you should throw in your lot with Chelsea?

To be honest, if Berba eventually comes he ll be showing ronaldo the way to madrid as he was in a very similar position....

This is all such bollox.

Absolutely no chance of Berbatov leaving Spurs to sign for Manchester fecking City. That would be the most stupid move ever, in the history of stupid moves.

Also a stupid (and, more importantly, unopopular) move by Levy, strengthening one of their genuine rivals in the league.

If Berbatov signs for Manchester City I'll eat my own head.

This is what I keep telling myself, but whatever reason there's a nagging in my head that he MIGHT just sign for them.

Surely not right!?!

I hope berbatov realizes the power he has.

The problem is that his agent wants the move so he can get his 8% or whatever he gets. And he wants the highest transfer fee and largest wages.

United or i stay at spurs and make studs up tackle in training all season and buy myself out for 2.5 million at te end of the season and sign with barca on 1200000 a week and play CL football.

God I hope we get him, either way he wont be at spurs come the end of the window.

Thank you, finally somebody with some sense!!

NO CHANCE BERBA WILL GO TO PLAY FOR CITY. ITS LAUGHABLE!

Why is everyone acting like we've messed up and failed?

He could still join us for less than 30m after SAF wins his game of brinkmanship against the evil Levy.

It would be ridiculous, imagine him lining up against us in the derby!

I hope berbatov realizes the power he has.

What power? He is a contracted player and only one club has met Spurs valuation, and have permission to talk to him. United are not matching a 37 million offer, so he doesn't get to talk to us.

He has made a cnut of himself in London, and the transfer window is closing. Now he has a few hours to stick his tail between his legs and go back to Spurs or sign a British transfer record for Manchester City pocketing a huge contract.

I have nothing further to add, but BahamaRed's ego after the Ronaldo thread needs reining in. He needs to be show that nobody is bigger than the forum and that he should be grateful to belong to a forum with such great traditions and history.

Biggest thread in the caf? It's on.

That ties in with this, but he's running late:smirk::
1413: My mum works as a receptionist at the chauffer company used by Man Utd and she has just had to book a car to pick up a Mr Benzema from Manchester Airport at 3pm to go to Old Trafford.

I am not in the "Berb is moving to City, doom and gloom" club.

But to rule it out because City are not sufficiently massive is overshooting the other way. No doubt City have money to throw at him. That is the most important thing. If he thinks it is between staying at Spurs or going to City then this could be a big factor. Add to this they have big investors and Sparky can easily make a case that they have a better chance of reaching the CL than Spurs.

I am sure his preferred destination will be United but if that looks like it is off the table then City is not such a ridiculous proposition.

In the end it will be up to Berbatov. Can't see him agreeing to a shitty deal unless the promise of big wages sways him.
