Berbatov

bear in mind though he is smiling and maybe that's his way of telling the media that he knows somethings in the process of happening. Or maybe not

There would be a logic in letting berbatov play against chelsea and the clubs might come to an agreement. I think he'd want to go out with a bang and that would be beneficial to spurs even if his futures not there

Also it means you don't have to throw new players in, into a must win game really if they've ambitions to finish 4th or 5th this season

where do this theory come from, we have not much time to play games with spurs and levy if we really want to buy him.

people have joked about it and there is a logic behind it. Spurs with berbatov might get something off chelsea, without I doubt it. The club might look at it from that angle

There is always the injury risk but the chances of that are not that great. Touch wood :nervous:, he doesn't seem injury prone.

it's not playing games if there was a mutual agreement. At the end of the day, spurs want the 3 points and United would like spurs to win

I'm not saying it will happen, it might

Anyone else think from Gills and Fergies reactions "Ooo I better get on with it" and "Nah, Im ne so optomistic" - that they are covering for several bigish signings at the death? I know they have left it very late, but something in their eyes, especially Gills look like he wanted to say

"Wait a few days, you will be very glad you did"

I have absolutely no doubt that SAF can come up with a way to play Rooney, Tevez, Berbatov and Ronaldo in the same XI (my money's on a 4231).

And I have absolutely no doubt they will be a lethal combination.
I'm sure they will sometimes, but more often one of them will be on the bench. It's not as if being only a sub once every fourth or fifth game is going to upset them.

For instance:

Game 1: Rooney, Tevez, Ronaldo --- Berbatov coming off the bench.
Game 2: Berbatov, Rooney, Tevez, --- Ronaldo coming off the bench.
Game 3: Berbatov, Rooney, Ronaldo --- Tevez coming off the bench.
Game 4: Berbatov, Tevez, Ronaldo --- Rooney coming off the bench.
Game 5: Berbatov, Rooney, Tevez, Ronaldo all starting.
Game 6: Perhaps only two of them starting, but the other two both probably coming on.

Add in the times when one (or more) will be injured or suspended, and they are all going to start plenty of games. I would be very surprised if any of them is a regular on the bench.

When did he say that?

....

Read it. He didnt actualy say that.

I saw it and I don't personally agree but theres' no question we'll sign someone. If you've see gill interviewed before, he's no different in any of them. That was after a very nice draw too

interesting though he was talking about monday night so it could very well be a last minute deal or maybe it was a bluff or maybe it wasn't. Exciting stuff

Ill be sitting there with flies undone and a huge tube of KY in anticipation. Sky Sports News on 1 TV, and all day Xbox 360 reuinion day on monday for me.

As far as I can see, if Berbatov plays at the weekend then there's no deal, simply in terms of medical, agreeing personal terms etc. I would expect our squad to return to Manchester tonight after the game, giving Fergie and Gill 3 clear days to thrash something out. I just feel that if Berba plays that its a no-go.

Reports in Germany claim that Bulgarian forward Dimitar Berbatov is high on the Bayern Munich wanted-list and a shock move for the Tottenham star could be on the cards.

There are also claims that the hunt for a defensive midfielder is not over with Zenit St.Petersburg’s Anatoli Tymoschuk a candidate for Bayern’s engine room.

The German Football League (DFL) extended the deadline for the closing of the transfer window until midnight on Monday, so that leaves Bayern with four days to bring in any more players.

Club manager Uli Hoeneß said yesterday: “It could be that we complete something in the next few days before the end of the transfer period.

“The transfer pot we have available has also changed and we’ll use it” he added.

Bayern have received a reported €9 million for full back Marcell Jansen from Hamburg. Massimo Oddo has arrived on a free loan deal from AC Milan

It was reported earlier in the summer that Bayern were prepared to offer €25 million for Mario Gomez, so a similar offer for Berbatov is not beyond the realms of possibility.

The Bulgarian joined Tottenham in 2006 for 16 million from Bayer Leverkusen and is under contract in North London until 2009.

Manchester United have recently seen a 30 million offer rebuffed by Spurs, but Juande Ramos’ side now have Roman Pavlyuchenko on their books after signing the 26 year old from Spartak Moscow.

I couldn't see Berbatov wanting to go there, plus I don't think Bayern could afford him.

They did make an offer for Gomez, but there is a big difference between 25 million Euro and £25 million pounds.

However, if Bayern were to sell us Schweinsteiger, Podolski, or Ribery, their coffers would definitely swell.

I still expect the Berb to sign for us anyway and to be holding a No.9 come Monday.

They could, surely.
And I wouldnt want any of those.
