The truth of the matter is we've made it to transfer deadline without needing him and IF we are going to pay what they want, Sir Alex will do it at the very last minute to piss the Lilyshites off.
Agree with that tactic? No.
Laugh when it happens? You bet I fecking will.
I seem to have missed something hereI know you can find stats to coroborate anything you like.... you need to get a life. This is a non issue for me so I'm not even going to continue this.... I will say that I don't think you like it though. You probably think us 'coloured' folk are stealing all your women, taking all your jobs and selling drugs to your kids. Wake up man... noticed you did not answer my questions either, don't bother now its plain to see where your coming from. Bye
We havent score many so far though and dropped points against newcastle.
I was really impressed with our play against pompey though and still think we play the best football in europe.
Basically i think we'll be alright without berbatov.
But with him, I know we will be.

...and bench Tevez or Rooney?

He posted the same in another thread - I'm guessing it's an attempt at humour.
So we're buying the berb to sit on the bench? The most shortsighted argument ever.
If things arent going well he would be a great sub.
Also if we get an injury he'd be a top class stand in.
Also its a long season and at a top club like ours we need to rotate the squad, should rooney and tevez play like every game?
Also with a 4231 formation he can be accomodated with them
both...surely being such an 'top' poster you know these things??
where did that come from?surely being such an 'top' poster you know these things
So four points out of six isn't a good enough start for you?

No no im happy with the start in the main. but saying we havent needed him so far is questionable really, we could have really done with him second half v newcastle. Still think were the best, but with another top class striker who offers something different to what we have would really quell the lingering fears for the long season ahead. (quite an uncontroversial viewpoint IMO)

I've already said I'd love to see Ronaldo, Nani, Tevez, Rooney and berb all playing, but that gives us room for only one CM. It's a puzzle. It appears that one of Ronney, Tevez and berb will always be on the bench. Hope that helps.
I hope berb can accept rotation. Many players don't and berb does look like one who can be sulky if he doesn't get his way.The team comes before any one player. Fergie will pick the most suitable lineup to face each opponent. All top clubs have good players on the bench and they just need to accept it. Be glad that we have 7 subs now to increase options. We managed fairly well in the past with just 5 anyway.

Just concerned about the team like. We've been very fortunate with the attitude of our top players so far.

I'm not saying we haven't needed him as such, I'm saying it could be what Sir Alex was hoping for.
Think about it, what would piss him off the most? This stupid claim from Levy. What would make him most happy? fecking them over. What lengths would he go to achieve this? Waiting to the death to get the player.
What I'm saying is that if that is a ploy from Sir Alex, and it is feasible, then luckily for us it will have worked. We've had a great start to the season, and now we can (IF it happens) look forward to the final piece coming in.

A great start to the season? I wouldn't classify it as a great start, a decent one possibly but dropping points in one of the two fixtures is not great for a club like United by any means. We should be beating the likes of Newcastle at home.
Alright? Without him we'll still be in with a very good chance of winning any one of the 3 main trophies as well as the other 3 that are left. I think we'll be a bit more than 'alright'.
Don't get me wrong. I want the berb. Badly. I know what we need.Just harmless joshing really.
Come on we need another striker man we all know it and for the reasons i listed, and he, at a club like united should be a top class one.
We play so many games against different opposition across europe no striker is gonna be on the bench all the time as you intimate. the amount of times we changed formation and system last season was boggling (and exciting)
Were not all suddenly going to try and argue to me after all this time that we dont need another striker are we (wouldnt suprise me)
Yeah, thats what i meant by alright! jeez
But I'm getting increasingly pleased at how Rooney and Tevez are growing together and for me these are two United legends in the making.
That's slightly better than 'alright'. being alright would be finishing second in the league and having a good cup run.
Tottenham Hotspur have reached a verbal agreement with Manchester United to sell Dimitar Berbatov when they complete the signing of Roman Pavlyuchenko. The Russia forward is expected to arrive in London today for a medical after Tottenham agreed a fee of about £12.5 million with Spartak Moscow. Tottenham are separately trying to sign a young striker after selling Robbie Keane to Liverpool this summer.
Sir Alex Ferguson has expressed his frustration at Tottenham’s intransigence over Berbatov and he suggested that United would reluctantly proceed this season without the Bulgaria forward unless Tottenham backed down over their demand for a £30 million fee. United made a second bid, thought to be about £25 million, last weekend. David Gill, the United chief executive, may try to conclude a few details with Damien Comolli, the Tottenham sporting director, in Monaco today.
Hans Segers, the former Tottenham goalkeeping coach, gave warning that Berbatov could unsettle the Old Trafford dressing-room. “He is one of the best strikers around, but the way he doesn’t pull his weight for the team is not good for the team,” Segers said. “He is a big sulker. He goes in silent sulks — he is quite a loner in that way. It is not easy to communicate with him and that is a shame because he is a very good player. So wherever he goes, the manager will have a tough job with him.”

No no no, that would be a liverpool or arsenals definition of alright. a Manchester United definition of alright would be winning the league, getting to the final of the fa cup and getting to the CL semi's

I had a dreamNo source. No quotes.
High expectations for fans only set you up for even higher lows. Expecting to win the league is something I would never do. I understand the manager and players expecting as much, never understood high expectations from fans.
Oh lighten up! didnt you read the times article its nearly berbatime
A berb and a supercup in the space of two/three days. Could be a good weekend.
......via this and the berb jokes
hmmmmm

So what do we think of the times article then? are they one of the more reputable papers? will this story be all over the other papers soon?
(Theres me thinking 'does me writing this post make this transfer the slightest more possible' has anyone else had this same crazy notion? perhaps subconsiously.....hmmm)
