With compliments from a newbie.

Seems a deal could well be imminent now, but we seem to be playing a similarly dangerous game to the one we did with Robben and Ronaldinho. The club are resigned to losing him, and a firm bid from United at the moment should seal it, but it seems we are trying to potentially play chicken with Spurs in a bid to get some sort of bargain price. Great if it works, incompetant if it doesn't.

How do you know what Uniteds tactics are? Some of the papers say we bid 25m at the weekend, some say we might come in with such a bid this week. Nobody seems to have a clue what stage negotiations are at. For all we know United have made multiple 25m+ offers in recent days but Levy will not listen to any of them out of some misplaced sense of pride.

If Spurs won't sell Berbatov it'll be because Levy does not want to lose face by giving in. It won't be Uniteds fault.

Levy has acted as a cnut but there is no point in having the man being humilated all over the place. In my opinion the two parties should meet and try to sort things out in a friendly way. We certianly don't want to make new enemies.

I think we're way past that stage now.

And with just a week to go until the transfer window closes, Ramos has called for the saga to be brought to an end as quickly as possible so that he can bring in a replacement.

"We need to get this matter resolved before the transfer deadline," he said.

"If Berbatov goes, we will need time to sign a replacement. We want to have the best centre forward we can possibly get."

Spurs have lost both their opening Premier Legaue games while uncertainty surrounds Berbatov's future.

I'm working on the basis that reports say we've not made a bid yet, well not since the £20m one.

It shouldn't. Things can always be settled around a table. We are talking here about the transfer of a player and not the Second World War.

He's already lost it and it could get worse. Just like Calderon, it's damage limitation time. Who the feck do these arse'oles think they're dealing with? especially Levy, almost fresh out of school! 'kinell, what a pathetic pair they make!

Surely nothing will be sorted today with the focus being on the Portsmouth fixture.

We're talking about millions and millions of pounds. Something most people would kill for.

Millions that will be lost no matter what Levy's decision is. Can't you see that Levy is in a no win situation? If he sells the player, then his reputation is ruined. If not then he will have a player who will try constantly to hinder the team's morale.

Now we can either stay at the window ceil watching Spurs sink or else we can act like adults and try to give them an e way to get out of this mess with their heads held high. Honestly Id rather not see us make new enemies. We already have too many of them already.

I disagree the last bit. I think in the past United overpaid during transfer dealings was a way to maintain harmonious relationship between clubs.

I'm just hoping Barcelona don't come in with a bid. They need him just like us for all their midfield and attacking talent to play off and they could offer Eto'o either up for sale or in a trade.
