This one?:)

Hej Słowianie, jeszcze nasza
Słowian mowa żyje,
póki nasze wierne serce
za nasz naród bije.

Żyje, żyje duch słowiański,
i żyć będzie wiecznie,
Gromy, piekło - złości waszej
ujdziem my bezpiecznie!

Dar języka zwierzył nam Bóg,
Bóg nasz gromowładny.
Nie śmie go nam tedy wyrwać
na świecie człek żadny.

Ilu ludzi, tylu wrogów,
możem mieć na świecie,
Bóg jest z nami, kto nam wrogiem,
tego Piorun zmiecie!

I niechaj się ponad nami
groźna burza wzniesie,
skała pęka, dąb się łamie,
ziemia niech się trzęsie.

My stoimy stale, pewnie,
jako mury grodu.
Czarna ziemio, pochłoń tego,
kto zdrajcą narodu!

That was our anthem from 1945 to 2006, written by Slovakian poet Samuel Tomášik, also an anthem of Slovakian Republic during WW2... At first that was an anhtem of some Pan-Slavic movement, and it's melody is based on Mazurek Dąbrowskiego, your anthem:).

These are translated lyrics, right?

The same melody, different lyrics.

Ronaldo was obviously above expected level and yes, he was the main reason why we did so well.

Considering our CL campaign - especially the knock-out stages - stood out more for defensive resilience than attacking flair and we conceded the least goals ever in the league, I would say our defence was the main reason we won the double.

And i wholeheartedly agree.

I would go further...

Rio is the best defender that we are likely to see in our lifetimes.

He is an absolute genius.

I agree, yes. Our defence didn't get the credit it deserved last season.

Put Ronaldo into Newcastle's side for example, they'd win nothing and he'd not score anywhere near the goals he did with United.

A player like Ronaldo will make a difference, there is no doubt about that, but the quality of the players you're playing with will determine your success as a unit, and as an individual.

Ronaldo was as important to the offensive part of our performances as Rio to defensive. I do not expect our defence to get any better nor worse next season and we are not planning on strengthening it, so it's basically out of question in this thread. We, however, should bolster our attacking options if we are to repeat the success because in all honesty, I don't expect Ronaldo to reproduce his last season's form.

How can you say that Ronaldo won't repeat his form, but the defence will?

That doesn't make sense...

In my lifetime I've seen Maldini and Baresi. So, no.

We wont repeat or better last seasons success with rooney, campbell and tevez as our only strikers.

Our stubbourness over ronaldo paid off, i dont think it will in this case.

That doesn't make a whole lot of sense seeing as last year we only had Tevez and Rooney as our strikers, now we have more backup.

Trying to keep them down.....just bear with me.....

I wish Berbatov would have told Ramos to feck off when he told him to warm up yesterday, and then shit in his handbag

It does, once defence gets going it will most likely maintain the form for year. A magnificent season from a winger in which he scores 42 goals is not something that happens on a regular basis.

Neither is conceding only 22 Premier League goals all season. In fact, it's only ever been done once as far as I know.

Didnt Chelsea only concede like 15 or something in 2004-5

Brwned: Guess you were right about Berbatov signing tuesday, I heard the same you said from a norwegian source. But I wont smile before its a done deal.

Hmmm, my prediction of 10,000 posts before he signs seems as though it shall come to fruition

Norwegians need to shut their mouths about all things Berbatov.

Wrong. Chelsea conceded 15 in 04-05, the same Chelsea team conceded 22 a year afterwards while Liverpool conceded only 25. The season after Chelsea condeded 24 goals in their league campaign. Conceding between 20 and 25 goals is a typical thing for a well-organized defence nowadays.

Hm, clearly the stat must have just been that is was our lowest ever goals conceded tally.

The Magyars are of the same roots as the Finns, i.e. northern Europe. Hungarian is very close to Finnish. They are not from the Huns (i.e. Atilla's mob, not Rangers fans) even though the name Hungary suggests that.

The Magyars came from what is now eastern Turkey. Some settled in Hungary, some went north to Finland and Estonia. Thats why these 3 languages are similar.

The Bulgars are thought to descend from the Huns.

Magyars descend from around the otherside of Urals region as well, which isn't far from Central Asia. Not quite Northern Europe. But they did speak a Finno-Ugric language. This map indicates that they were a part of the Goturk Khanate, which stretched from West Asia to Mongolia. But Hungarians/Magyars have been assimilated by Slavic populations. So, they're hardly from the same stock as the original Magyars, despite retaining their language.

Did anyone else hear what Hansen and Shearer were saying on MOTD last night? Thats Berbatov's attitude towards his team mates on the pitch was appalling and that Spurs would have to get rid of him soon.

To be honest, they are probably correct about his attitude.
