Slavic heroes..
We should tell Vidic to have a little "talk" with Berbatov. That'd settle this.

feck lets stop playing hard ball and pay that few million more. We're gonna end up empty handed in the end :s .

Bulgarian people are South Slavs.

Yes, very similar language to ours, I could easily understand their language... Nice people, probably the poorest communist nation during the Soviet Era, now they are somehing like an example for all Balkan people how to implement the democracy standards on the way to the European Union...

They're Slavic. But proto-Bulgarians were of Turkic origin, they originated from the other side of the Altai. Same as Magyars, really.

The Magyars are of the same roots as the Finns, i.e. northern Europe. Hungarian is very close to Finnish. They are not from the Huns (i.e. Atilla's mob, not Rangers fans) even though the name Hungary suggests that.

Alternatively, Rooney wasnt near his best in the second half of the season (especially with his finishing), Tevez wasnt anywhere near his best all season (though his finishing was).

We've much to come as improvement over last year, from both players.

These two players may well prove the difference at the end of the season.

Ronaldo was above the expected level and virtually won us both trophies.

Your language is similar to ours, although not as similar as Slovakian or Czech. All based on the same language, I think.

This is the last chance Spurs have of making a decent profit out of Berbatov.

Next summer he will be 6 months away from being 29.

No club in there right mind will pay more than about 18 million for him then.

Spurs are being ridiculous holding out for 32 million pounds.

You're believing what you read in the papers

Berbatov can buy out his contract next summer too remember, for a very small sum under FIFA Article 17, a.k.a. 'The Webster Clause'.

Well Sarni, I've never talked with someone from Poland, but I watched your TV channels, and it amazed me really how much our languages are similar, much more than Czech or even Slovenian... Obviously, a lot of German and Hungarian words in Polish and a lot of Turskish and Latin in - but very similar grammatical constructions, probably because came from Poland to Balkans in 6th century.

Exclusive: £25m Utd Dimitar Berbatov deal

Dimitar Berbatov's move to Manchester United will go through this week.

A compromise deal between United and Tottenham has been struck.

It came after the Premier League admitted that they had temporarily suspended reviewing the evidence Spurs had submitted to them after the North London club claimed Berbatov had been illegally tapped up by United.

The Premier League was due to look at the evidence last Wednesday, but asked Tottenham to review their documentation and then re-submit it.

United have privately insisted that any deal was subject to the charges being dropped by Tottenham in the same way they facilitated a similar request from Liverpool to ensure Robbie Keane's transfer went through.

United in turn are prepared to up their original £20million offer by a further £5m and include various incentives that will take the ensure deal met Spurs' valuation of £30m.

I am not sure about Hungarian, I went to Hungary a couple of weeks ago and I was amazed at how difficult their language was. I barely understood a thing, and they do not speak foreign languages mostly.

Serbias national anthem is pretty much the same tune as ours, I have noticed lately.

If this proves to be true, and my calculations are correct, we would have completed the deal at least 5 times over come the end of the week. And yet he still hasn't made it to OT.

This one?:)

Hej Słowianie, jeszcze nasza
Słowian mowa żyje,
póki nasze wierne serce
za nasz naród bije.

Żyje, żyje duch słowiański,
i żyć będzie wiecznie,
Gromy, piekło - złości waszej
ujdziem my bezpiecznie!

Dar języka zwierzył nam Bóg,
Bóg nasz gromowładny.
Nie śmie go nam tedy wyrwać
na świecie człek żadny.

Ilu ludzi, tylu wrogów,
możem mieć na świecie,
Bóg jest z nami, kto nam wrogiem,
tego Piorun zmiecie!

I niechaj się ponad nami
groźna burza wzniesie,
skała pęka, dąb się łamie,
ziemia niech się trzęsie.

My stoimy stale, pewnie,
jako mury grodu.
Czarna ziemio, pochłoń tego,
kto zdrajcą narodu!

That was our anthem from 1945 to 2006, written by Slovakian poet Samuel Tomášik, also an anthem of Slovakian Republic during WW2... At first that was an anhtem of some Pan-Slavic movement, and it's melody is based on Mazurek Dąbrowskiego, your anthem:).

That's a really stupid comment. It's also disrespectful to players such as Rio Ferdinand.

Ronaldo was obviously above expected level and yes, he was the main reason why we did so well.

That's different than saying he basically won us two trophies.

Hungarian is not of the same origin as slavic and baltic languages. Hungarian, Finnish and a couple of other language in Europe are not Indo-European language family and therefore totally different from the rest.

Yeah, Basque and Estonian are the other major european languages that are not Indo-European.
It's pretty amazing that Hindi, Urdu and Persian are Indo-European and therefore technically closer to English, French etc. than Finnish or Hungarian are.

"He virtually won us both trophies".

No he didn't. Rio was easily as good last year.

Ronaldo was as important to the offensive part of our performances as Rio to defensive. I do not expect our defence to get any better nor worse next season and we are not planning on strengthening it, so it's basically out of question in this thread. We, however, should bolster our attacking options if we are to repeat the success because in all honesty, I don't expect Ronaldo to reproduce his last season's form.

We wont repeat or better last seasons success with rooney, campbell and tevez as our only strikers.

Our stubbourness over ronaldo paid off, i dont think it will in this case.
