Berbatov

Levy's all about avoiding any blame for transfers out.

If Berbatov is absolutely shit for these 20 minutes and looks like he does not want to be there then Levy can sell him with the fans blaming the player, not Berbatov.

If Berbatov plays really well then the opposite will be seen to be true and Levy will find it harder to be seen to be selling Berbatov.

I disagree, mate.

Spurs fans know they have a big struggle to keep him. They don't, from what I can see anyway, seem to be blaming Levy. He looks like he's going to get them a very competitive price, despite his childish, hypocritical, and unprofessional antics.

I think regardless of any performances he puts in before he joins us(if he does, of course), they know he's on his way out. They also know how good he is. He has also sulked for them in the past, so they won't be strangers to that either. They are losing a top player, but that's what happens when you are a club at Spurs' level, and you have a top player like Berbatov.

Lou Macari really annoys me.

He's doing commentary for Setanta and said...."what spurs have found out today is they can't afford to get rid of anyone up front. Darren Bent just isnt good enough".

Who does he support?

It's like he's trying to give Spurs any excuse to keep Berbatov, the idiot.

1-0 Boro by the way, delighted, and should be 2-0.

Eh, wouldn't it have made things easier for the transfer if Spurs had won this game 3-0 with Berbatov still on the bench?
And maybe Lou Macari is just doing his job?

No, because it will only make Berbatov realise what a shite club he is really at and will want out asap.

You don't want to be putting any thoughts into his head that Spurs may have a team this year.

You could look at the situation based on your opinon too though. Depends on what way u want to view it, but personally I rather Spurs lose.

It might finally sink in for Levy that they are small club.

I can't stand Lou Macari, I agree with very little of what he has to say. He reminds me of a person that goes for an exam, but never studies.

2-0, the mighty Mido lol

Modric can't cope with the pace of the game at all.

Wake up call for Spurs today.

Pre-season is over kids lol.

Ended up a good day for those that want Berbatov I guess,

Might have been better if SPurs had scored a lot of goals without Berbatov playing.

But next best thing was Berbatov coming on and doing feck all and Spurs making it clear that they still need to buy another couple of players.

to be honest berba played shit today

You serious?

He had an instant impact I thought. He is lethal on the ball and can cut a defence wide open.

One thing I will say, and that is Modric doesn't look like he's going to be able to cope with the pace of the Premiership at all.

He was useless today.

Dos Santos looked good though.

And you're not doing the complete opposite?

...guys, if Fergie was on that Everton-Blackburn match... that would probably meen that the first option is Santa Cruz (and I really dont like that guy, good in the air but technically very average)...

Not really. They have lots of new faces in, will take a while for them to kick into gear, adjust and mold as a team. If Berbatov isnt allowed to leave, it'll probably take the same 4 or 5 games it'll take him to get his game on.

You guys are forgetting its not berbas decision, its Ramos' id say this was a bad day

If spurs won 5-0 and berba stayed on the bench, then it would have been a good day

?.....

was watching the game. He had about 5 touches of the ball. Did alright but nothing major. One decent first time pass to bent and that was the best thing he did. Spurs were shite in the final third before he came on and after

Too soon to judge modric and dos santos will do well attack wise but he is quite slight and will find it hard to impose himself against some teams I reckon

100%

Yakubu did play better than Santa Cruz to be honest. But Santa Cruz made his one moment of real activity pay off and put the ball in the net. Reminds of a certain ducthman, but with more mobility.

Some of the comments on this place really surprise me sometimes.

You would think United fans were used to how Fergie is in the transfer market and his stubborn nature.

tbh, he was talking a fair amount of rubbish today.

among his gems: the seven-subs rule should be scrapped (despite the fact that it now brings us in conformity with Europe and will allow more young players to get a bit of game time); that the Spurs should go long every time rather than pass it about probing for an opening; that Modric won't make it in this league, all on the evidence of a single game, and that the first of the season....

had me rolling my eyes after a bit.
