He travelled all the way to watch Lille vs Lens a couple of years ago, just to check out Jean Makoun. Makoun was mediocre and he lost interest.
So Fergie probably does like to evaluate a potential signing with his own eyes.
However, in this particular case I find it hard to believe there any players playing for Everton or Blackburn that he does not know pretty well already.
