Anderson was a pretty huge coup. Plus we've been linked to all of those, though never backed up with quotes. Well, except Henry.

He'll start regardless of whether he's leaving, to be honest. Well, he could. On the plus side, it'd be a message to us : We're happy we have the player, meet our demands or feck off. As things stand he's staying. Of course, if he picked up an injury that'd put a blot on things. But his injury record suggests that probably wouldnt happen.
Someone else said that already, I disagree. If I were Spurs I would still play Berbatov, they don't have the resources to just take out the best player in their team and put in someone like Dos Santos or Lennon instead.

I just saw the full press conference with Fergie now and at the end he was asked would he sign Berbatov by August 31st and he answered.."I have nothing at all to say, you might be surprised what happens in the next 2 days".
All the journalists went WOOOO and Fergie had a big grin on his face lol.

However, you might be surprised at what happens in the next 2 days.
The latter could easily refer to some other development that might affect the likelihood of Berba signing - or just show the journalists they've been missing something.
Anyway - it's more fun to think the possibilities might be wider.

Sir Alex Ferguson is remaining tight-lipped on Dimitar Berbatov's possible move to Old Trafford.
The Manchester United boss refused to speculate on whether the club has signed the Spurs star, but dropped a hint by warning fans to expect a surprise in the next 48 hours.
"You might be surprised at what is going to happen over the next two days" - Sir Alex Ferguson
Asked whether he expected to bring in a new player to help United defend their Barclays Premier League title, he said: "I cannot give you an answer because there isn't one."
He added: "You might be surprised at what is going to happen over the next two days."
With a lack of attacking options, Sir Alex will have to rely on older members of his squad like Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes, aged 35 and 34 respectively.
Ferguson said: "We do have to protect the old dinosaurs a little bit more but they are all fit guys."
He added: "Giggs' endurance test was the best in the club this summer, which is unbelievable. I don't know what he is made of.
"He has never carried any weight either and has always looked after himself, so he will play a lot of games for us.
"Paul Scholes is much the same, as is Gary Neville. There is plenty of football left in them as well."
Wayne Rooney will play in the opening game against Newcastle after overcoming worries over his fitness last week.
