Berbatov hint from Ferguson?

Updated 22.40 Fri Aug 15 2008

Sir Alex Ferguson is remaining tight-lipped on Dimitar Berbatov's possible move to Old Trafford.
The Manchester United boss refused to speculate on whether the club has signed the Spurs star, but dropped a hint by warning fans to expect a surprise in the next 48 hours.
"You might be surprised at what is going to happen over the next two days" - Sir Alex Ferguson
Asked whether he expected to bring in a new player to help United defend their Barclays Premier League title, he said: "I cannot give you an answer because there isn't one."
He added: "You might be surprised at what is going to happen over the next two days."
With a lack of attacking options, Sir Alex will have to rely on older members of his squad like Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes, aged 35 and 34 respectively.
Ferguson said: "We do have to protect the old dinosaurs a little bit more but they are all fit guys."
He added: "Giggs' endurance test was the best in the club this summer, which is unbelievable. I don't know what he is made of.
"He has never carried any weight either and has always looked after himself, so he will play a lot of games for us.
"Paul Scholes is much the same, as is Gary Neville. There is plenty of football left in them as well."
Wayne Rooney will play in the opening game against Newcastle after overcoming worries over his fitness last week.

We're going to re-sign Bellion :(

Nani and anderson are no Villa and Henry in "world terms" im just saying in these days "surprises" are very rare

Though ill admit Henry would be a surprise

Btw does anyone know if The big H has said anything about the rumours? Ive not heard apeep from him

Henry and Eto'o are both cup tied from CL, they're not coming.

the man in action

He's got the same gayish moves as Carrick.

After these new quotes, for the first time all summer i have doubts it'll be Berbatov.

I'm sick of the lilywhites cant wait til we feck them up this year

I heard a football journalist once say that when they get quotes from a "friend of a player" it's usually the player himself, asking to be off the record.

This pleases me.

That could be true in some cases I am sure, but for the most part I have no doubt that most journalists make up their quotes

More likely just a way to make up a story out of thin air.
That doesn't please me. Unless its true. In which case it does.

These are the exact same that we heard about Ronaldo all summer and no one believed them.
This all sounds like rubbish to me
