Berbatov to Sevilla?

The club opened contract talks with Berbatov back in February, suggests to me he'll be staying.

Yet no contract has been signed yet? I wouldn't be surprised if Berbatov's tried to bargain for more money then he's worth and Gill has said no. Given his price tag, he should be happy to take a pay cut given this years been the first time he's delivered in 3 seasons. Wouldn't be surprised if ends up Sheringham where the player wants x amount of the years but the club will only offer Y and he flies the coop. Wouldn't really be missed anyway.

Feeky, I'm being subjective here so I'd like you to stop targeting me in order to continue a debate over something you claim I'm bringing up, yet it's you who flies off the handle over the slightest criticism of Berbatov.

Can I just point out to others, Feeky claims I have an agenda which depending on your opinion may be true. But Feeky's Twitter profile has the kid in a United shirt, draped in a green & gold scarf with his arms crossed in a militaristic stance like a suicide bomber and has his description as being 'Berba-loving United fan'.

Who has the bigger agenda, me annoyed at him underperforming or Feeky annoyed because someone criticizes the man he declares to love...???
You've already tried to make this argument, and I've already pointed out that my Twitter picture was a sarcastic entry for a "Top Red" competition, and I do possess the ability to be critical of United players, and have been so, I will however point out when criticisms are unfair. And I'm not quite sure me loving the football Berba produces counts as an agenda, given that it's precisely that we're discussing.

And for the record, I'm not wearing a United shirt along with my G&G scarf, that would be rather silly now wouldn't it?

I'm not trying to make any argument, Feekus, but it seems starting arguments is your thang...

And if the Top Red competition is finished, you can change your picture mate.

Were Ruud and Sheringham missed?

Why do we need to look when we already have one. Its not like Michael Owen can't score goals.

fecks sake, Michael Owen will leave at the end of the season because he's past it, he is glacially slow and his game was all about pace. Yet you want us to get rid of the top scorer in the league and shunt perma-crock MO7 up the roster to third choice? Do you realise that without Berbatov's goals we wouldn't be top of the league? He carried us while Rooney was batting his eyelids at other clubs. Thank god you have no say in how this club is run, Berba will be here next year I guarantee it.

I have no other picture on my laptop of me on my own, all the others are with friends. I'm glad for your concern about my Twitter picture though, it's so utterly relevant to the debate.
Were Ruud and Sheringham missed?
I was more "what on earth?"ing about your bizarre filling in of the gaps which surmised that Berba was a greedy cnut despite a) absolutely no evidence of this and b) the fact that he turned down a significantly higher wage offer from city to join United.
I'd imagine Berbatov if he wanted leave would rather go to a better club than Sevilla. Leverkusen his old club are winning the Bundesliga.
Dortmund are, by a long way.

Ahh right, we should keep an even slower player, who has no bottle what so ever, who's been a monumental failure at United apart from two thirds of a season, and can't score goals big goals when they actually matter apart from a game against a shite Liverpool side? Nani carried us, without him our and Berbatov's season go belly up before November... I'll also ask you to show me Berbatovs, F.A. Cup, and more then one Champions league goals this season? 4 goals in the champions league is not good enough from a 30 million pound striker. Fecking Vidic has 6 in the same time and he's not even a striker! Since he joined United, he's scored just six goals in other cup competitions..

You may say thank god i'm not calling the shots, but Fergie does, and even he thinks he's not good enough to have a starting place in big games!

I'm no psychologist but your Berba-loving Twitter description and profile picture would suggest they're totally relevant into your mindset our kid...

Berbatov was never a fast player he's not that kind of striker, Owen's game was totally reliant on it and now he's a shadow of his former self. Owen joined nearly two years ago and has yet to score five premier league goals, that's pathetic. Berbatov has had his best season in the Premier League, he is clearly not going backwards like Owen. Honestly watching you trying to convince yourself that Berba's had anything other than a good season is embarrassing.

United have a one way clause in his contract that allows the club to extend it by a year whether he wants to or not, so the one year left thing isn't such a big deal.

Owen wasn't just pace, he has always been an incredible finisher, probably the best since Lineker.

No, watching Berabtov fan boi's try to prove that he's our most important striker and our best player this season is embarrassing.

Its almost like praising mediocrity. Scores 21 goals in the league, 1 goal in any other competitions despite doing not much else in his career at United, but we should all be like, praise the fecking lord, Dimi our saviour is here!
Why should we praise the bare minimum.... Zlatan had a similar season last year 'if not better' and Barca fecked him off because he wasn't good enough and they paid a shit tonne more. We've given Berbatov 3 years!

Have you ever considered a career as a tabloid journo?

fecking hell

He needs pace to play off the last man and get into those one on one situations that he used to thrive on, without his pace he's a shadow of his former self as evidenced by the fact he's only scored four PL goals for utd in his entire stay here. I realise one was a last minute winner and you're all sentimental about it but how about getting sentimental over a fecking hat-trick against the Scousers?

The case for Berbatov is strong enough you don't need to go into fantasy land to justify he has had a top season it just ends up diminishing an already valid point.

I hope so too that he is with us for more than just next season.

How about scoring a piss easy chance against City in a cup semi or goal against a crap blackburn side that would have won us the title...

Why do you think I'm not sentimental about his Scouse hat-trick? I loved it, I still love it mate and always will but I can't allow that great performance to justify him not performing in the last third of the season.
Let me ask you this; David Bentley scored a hat-trick against us, do you think Blackburn fans still revere him for scoring a hat-trick against Man United?

Really? Because 11 goals in 3 games 'half his fecking goal tally' really defined
how good his seasons been? I'm sure I could find 11+ games this season when he's been diabolically shit scored nothing 'how about the run of 8 at the start of the season "carried us my arse" and I dunno, say nearly every game since mid feburary that he's been picked for' and tally up where 6 of those would have come in handy... Lets start with the game against City for example...

edit: I agree with Johnnon on the hattrick if you notice I took that out of the equation above, by only saying six, but 1 game does fix the inherent issues with the player. Its like saying we should have kept Forlan because he nabbed 2 against the scousers!

Yeah because goals are everything...he set up a really good chance for Valencia in that Blackburn game by the way, but just forget that to suit you're argument why don't you.

Difficult to perform when even scoring isn't enough to keep his place in the team.

Pardon my French, but you sir, are a fecking idiot.

One chance in however much game time he had.... what about the other 45+ minutes he was on the pitch for when he did nothing else?

What about the rest of the team? They did feck all too.

Let's sell Anderson, Fletcher, Carrick, Evra, Rooney, Valencia, Scholes too. They've all been below par this season.

And Rio, barely fecking plays.

Pardon my French, but you sir, are a fecking idiot.

Cheers for that, now how about you feck off or actually dispute my posts. typical ramblings from Berba boi's. tralalala top scorer in the league tralalalala "he's been shite for 3 years in every other competition and 2 years of mediocrity in the league!"... You're fecking idiot if you don't love Berbatov, tralalalalala

He is correct, you are a fecking idiot.

Problem with Berba is that we cant rely on him in the big games.

Forget assists against Blackburn - hes was bought for games like the FA Cup Semi.

I dont think the club think he is worth a new contract.

ahh yes, because, Rio, Rooney and Valencia haven't been injury free all season  Anderson wasn't coming back from ligament damage in his knee and Scholes is on his way to retirement more then likely. Both Evra and Fletcher have been sub par but both have played in almost every game for the past 3 seasons which included in Evra's case a shit world cup.

Berbatov fans need to get this into their heads, it isn't 1 year of shit, its been a good portion of his United career.

Of course, generally, when Rio, Rooney and Valencia play, they deliver in bucket loads.

Carried us? Nonsense.

What was Nani doing whilst Berba was "carrying" us?
