They went one step further to annoy us and now changed it to "\" for the FDJ thread. My eyes can't look at that abomination.Absolutely agree. I thought i was the only one who was nitpicking

Not really digging the '/' in the thread titles. Why did we change it from '|' ? That looked way more cleaner.
If we end up with sesko, FDJ & Antony; it would be a good window but it’s very unlikely isn’t it ?
100% are not getting Antony. That’s out of the window. Ajax have sold enough this summer and we are not paying 80-100 mill+If we end up with sesko, FDJ & Antony; it would be a good window but it’s very unlikely isn’t it ?
CF is definitely the priority. If Martial gets injured, we are short of option. We have enough to cover RW position even though many are not ideal.Yeah I'd probably put RW higher in the list too. Maybe we know Ronaldo is leaving and we're trying to sign him up before it's official.
I think Sesko looks a better prospect than Ekitike to be honest. Never been too impressed with Ekitike's comps compared to other hot prospects.

Or PSG could have gone for Tel and Bayern made a move for Ektike. Throw Chelsea in the mix as well, they have a more pressing need than us, so why didn't they go for either.
Ever thought that maybe the players didn't want to move to United? Or maybe we didn't think they would suit the manager's system or maybe they're not actually that good?
I'd love to sign him too but imo it's more correct to say it seems that he has than he has. He sure looks fast and strong for that Austrian league but in the prem or CL? We don't know yet.He has the all important ingredients to become a successful striker,
Agree. But if ETH goes for him, he must be something even in short term to contribute immediately, maybe not by goals though. Haller at 21 worked great under ETH, right?I'd love to sign him too but imo it's more correct to say it seems that he has than he has. Any amateur boxer will look like Floyd Mayweather against me. But against a pro boxer he'll probably look just like me.
If we sign him imo we should not expect much from him in his first year. The prem is really tough.
Agree that the fee is quite high. But then RBL don't want to sell, so that could be one of the reasons, or maybe he's a bigger talent than the other 2.There were some newspaper rumours that we were looking at Ekitike. Whereas Tel doesn't seem to have been on our radar at all. Which is fine, we can't keep a track of every young player in the world. Some people may prefer Ekitike, some Tel or another player, but the club decided to move for Sesko. However my issue is with the fee it is looking like we are likely to pay for Sesko given fees paid for other comparable talents.
Peter Kenyon back at Chelsea?
Yeah surely he'd have some of that in mind. But imo this is more a long term signing than a short one.Agree. But if ETH goes for him, he must be something even in short term to contribute immediately, maybe not by goals though. Haller at 21 worked great under ETH, right?
How many did we concede last year with those guys there? One massive plus if we signed Sesko which I don’t think has been mentioned is the big benefit he would give us in not only attacking set pieces but defending set pieces and corners as well. He’s reported to be deadly in the air.
At 6’4 he would give us some desperately needed height in the team. We are looking like we will only have Maguire with any significant height and aerial ability in our strongest eleven now that we have potentially lost Matic, Pogba, possibly Varane, McTominay and Ronaldo from our starting lineup. That’s obviously a concern when defending set pieces. The addition of Sesko would help massively.
I agree. Getting this guy in must be a priority over RW right now. And it would ease the situation with Ronaldo for us as wellCF is definitely the priority. If Martial gets injured, we are short of option. We have enough to cover RW position even though many are not ideal.

I really doubt this. You are very bad at probability sir.Yeah you knobbing emilia clarke is also unlikely but it would be good wouldnt it ? Infact you'd have better odds of knobbing her than us signing those three this window.
Who are the other clubs interested? Is it just us, Chelsea and Newcastle? I’ve got a feeling he’d choose Chelsea, they’ve got rid of lukaku so he’ll be confident of getting game time plus there in the CL… i think Ronaldo still being here might put him of and he might think he won’t play as much.
Indeed, long gone are the days when United sign every single player we're linked with.Seems so weird now when United go for players, even ones like this who I had never heard of, and knowing they’re likely to fail
For 80% of my life when United have gone for a player I’ve had no doubt they’ll sign him. This summer in particular I can really sense how much that allure has faded
To be fair.Seems so weird now when United go for players, even ones like this who I had never heard of, and knowing they’re likely to fail

Here is a fairly recent interview (its in Slovenian, but google translate should do the job) Šeško gave about 2 months ago. The most interesting thing from it, when asked about his plans for the future he said: "I dont have chosen club where I'd like to go. I rather go step by step and see where it gets me. I hope to be somewhere where I can give a lot to the team and make a name for myself, but right now I'm focused on Salzburg - to explode here and from there onwards always with gradual steps, because a bad choice can cost you alot."
So it will definitely come down to what plans for his further development were offered, which of course at this point we can only speculate. One guess would be, that a club which is willing to secure him now but let him play one more year for Salzburg will prevail. The other option would be, that he was promised prominent first team minutes, but that doesnt seem likely to me with Ten Hag and his code of earning your spot on the teamsheet.
In any case I think that our club did its best here.. they were monitoring him for a long time, saw that he's about to explode this season, realized that if that happens he'll be out of reach next year and went strongly in for him with even being prepared to pay the obligatory United tax for an unproven potential... and at least the 'saga' will end in a few days compared to other transfers.

People are going over board here. Before his game against Liverpool and United interest , not one club tried to sign him.
So people describing him as next best talent need to calm down. He might end up good but there is a very good chance he might just turn out average. Given our options at front , would welcome this signing as we need numbers. But 30-45 mill is not a small amount for this guy.
I always got pisses off about missing out on Robben but now I think, had he come then, we wouldn't have send CR7 as they played the same position. Silver lining.Like Ramsay, Robben, Obi Mikel, Ronaldinho, Hazard, Shearer, John Terry, Gascoigne...I think I made my point.
That was never the case as Fergie never got all the players that he wanted.Indeed, long gone are the days when United sign every single player we're linked with.
I'd argue Mikel was the best bit of business United have ever done.Like Ramsay, Robben, Obi Mikel, Ronaldinho, Hazard, Shearer, John Terry, Gascoigne...I think I made my point.

Who says I haven’t already?Yeah you knobbing emilia clarke is also unlikely but it would be good wouldnt it ? Infact you'd have better odds of knobbing her than us signing those three this window.
Yes. We can absolutely get top 4. No problem.
The players we have lost didn’t contribute a great deal in the season past. Pogba was mainly injured, Cavani was AWOL and Mata, Matic, and Lingard barely played. I’d hope you agree we have lost nothing.
We’ve added an exciting combative young LB who I believe will replace Shaw as a starter, a left footed CB which has been coveted since before Jose left, and a versatile and silky smooth midfield player in Eriksen. We are all aware what he does and how well he does it. I’d argue the squad is better as it stands.
Now I hear what you say about DM, but it doesn’t seem a position ETH is desperate for, and he’s looking to reinforce the midfield in other ways.
The big plus is the manager himself and his coaching staff. You can already see improvements in our players and our play, and a big take away from preseason for me was the fact that the 1st half teams played exactly as the 2nd half team did. Everybody is on the same page and pulling in the same direction. We will see team performances and not only individual brilliance pulling us to victory.
Im confident we won’t be seeing stupid results against the likes of Everton, Watford, Brighton etc as we have in the past which will boost our points total, and I think he will set us up against Liverpool and City etc in a way so as to not haemorrhage goals and we will see draws not defeats.
If you are judging the squad simply by cash spent then I don’t know what to tell you, we’ll have to judge in September as we are not privy to the ins and outs of transfer dealings.
Last season was extreme and it was awful, but it was an anomaly. There is no way we can be that bad again with the organisation and tactical competency that Erik brings to the table.
edit - holy moly, sorry for the long post
They DO seem to be going after players by leeching off other club's interests
