One massive plus if we signed Sesko which I don’t think has been mentioned is the big benefit he would give us in not only attacking set pieces but defending set pieces and corners as well. He’s reported to be deadly in the air.
At 6’4 he would give us some desperately needed height in the team. We are looking like we will only have Maguire with any significant height and aerial ability in our strongest eleven now that we have potentially lost Matic, Pogba, possibly Varane, McTominay and Ronaldo from our starting lineup. 100% are not getting Antony. That’s out of the window. Ajax have sold enough this summer and we are not paying 80-100 mill+
CF is definitely the priority. If Martial gets injured, we are short of option. We have enough to cover RW position even though many are not ideal.
It's not just about Ekitike's comps but the potential, similar to Sesko. I like how Ekitike always looks to make runs behind the defence as a no 9 plus he can also play on the RW, so would've covered two positions for us if we brought him in. I'm not against Sesko, I'm just not impressed by the quoted price considering the fees paid to other similar talents of the same age. Even if we decided to go for Sesko, knowing that Ekitike and others were available, I'm pretty sure if we'd moved for him earlier on in the window, the fee would've been less than what has been talked about.

There were some newspaper rumours that we were looking at Ekitike. Whereas Tel doesn't seem to have been on our radar at all. Which is fine, we can't keep a track of every young player in the world. Some people may prefer Ekitike, some Tel or another player, but the club decided to move for Sesko. However my issue is with the fee it is looking like we are likely to pay for Sesko given fees paid for other comparable talents.
I'd love to sign him too but imo it's more correct to say it seems that he has than he has. He sure looks fast and strong for that Austrian league but in the prem or CL? We don't know yet.

There was an interview with Sesko's agent in Slovenian media yesterday. He didn't really reveal anything, was very diplomatic, kept talking about choosing the best club for his development. The only interesting bit was when they asked him where HE thinks would be the best club for Sesko, and he said something along the lines that if he would give an honest answer it would also reveal where he is most likely going.
Who are the other clubs interested? Is it just us, Chelsea and Newcastle? I’ve got a feeling he’d choose Chelsea, they’ve got rid of lukaku so he’ll be confident of getting game time plus there in the CL… i think Ronaldo still being here might put him of and he might think he won’t play as much.

It would suck to lose a player to Chelsea, but I would understand him. This is me hoping they sign Auba so it can put Sesko off. Ronaldo still has one foot at the door; he's just waiting for the perfect opportunity.

Since the social media boom it seems that we are linked to 99% of players that other teams are interested in. I'd imagine our decline and lack of Champions league football has played its part but I'd guarantee that we have no interest in 90% of the players we are linked to.

So people describing him as next best talent need to calm down. He might end up good but there is a very good chance he might just turn out average. Given our options at front , would welcome this signing as we need numbers. But 30-45 mill is not a small amount for this guy.

Bit unfair, we went for plenty of smaller unknown talents under Fergie, plenty of them failed miserably.
