Or we sign both and people will still moan
This is very likely to happen.
Or we sign both and people will still moan
Can someone give me context to the thread title
Who said he’s close to joining United?
Guaranteed he becomes Carroll while Darwin turns into prime Zlatan. That would be great news. Until we find out he has a wooden leg after he signs for us.
Tell me this isn't true
Or we sign both and people will still moan
Chelsea have tried to sign everyone this summer.
Don't know this guy but YT left me underwhelmed, he looks weird running, like he wearing high heels or boots 2 sizes to small???
Maybe we’ve missed out on Frenkie and this is another panic buy to appease the fans in the same way we bought Amad and Pellistri after missing out on Sancho.
No, but maybe anytime he throws his toys out the pram and leaves the club midseason. So anytime he’s not playing well, it is because we have more than one player at the club in his position?
Because it isn’t true?

This isn't a Martial thread, and generally have no issues with him, but he looked happy and ready to go in preseason, we sign Ronaldo, his attitude changed, his productivity changed, and then he basically refused to play and pushed for a loan. You’re making no sense, and haven’t actually constructed any sort of point here.
If the CAF was in charge of negotiations we'd either pay way over the odds "Just pay the money" Sancho Era or we'd walk away from every single deal.
Funny how the CAF complains about worrying that the club signing no one but they'd also in another breath, walk away from A LOT of potential deals instead of negotiating.
We definitely didn’t ‘massively overpay’ for Martial. You don’t get to wait 6 years and then decide whether you like the player and determine value. He came in as a teenager and was comfortably our best player. 17 goals first season, has out up a 21 goal season and won the Golden Ball. What should we have paid, 15m?
Even now, he’s currently our first choice striker 6 years later. We have certainly not overpaid at 36m for what we got. That’s what Scamacca has just cost. If you buy a teenager for 36m and he spends 8-10 years at the club, ending seasons as your top scorer, then it’s easily fair.
I agree in the sense that I don't think we overpaid for Martial. He started off well and it was all very exciting. Genuinely looked a great prospect and a great addition to the side. I'd say the bigger issue with United is that we buy players who initially look decent/good/great, but then we have an issue with taking them on to the next level. I'd say that largely down to mismanagement, where we've had several managers come in without a clear and distinctive pathway for progression and improvement, especially for younger players. It's just been a mess. Another example I'd say is Luke Shaw, who I was very excited about when he first came. He has either stayed at the same level...or on many occasions, actually regressed.
It should be in the club's DNA as the type of place that young players are striving to get picked up by, because not only will it be a great place to play football, but a place where you can improve and get taken to the next level.
I think the key to developing players is that you have good senior pros already at the club. That is something we haven’t had, generally speaking, for years. Not just ‘good pros’ in terms of attitude and professionalism, but top senior players who are first expected to deliver for us. For years, if we had signed a talented 19 year old in pretty much any position, the success of our season would depend upon their integration. We are hoping that they can be excellent from the start because chances are, whoever is playing their position ahead of them has a number of question marks. Young players don’t have a protected environment where they can come off the bench here and there and contribute and make mistakes because, chances are, Ruud van Nistelrooy and one from Becks will win the game anyway. If we sign a young midfielder, he needs to lead us, if we sign a young winger, we need him to elevate us, right-back - same thing. The profile of Harvey Elliott at Liverpool and the one he’d have here is so different because the seniors are not good enough to get it done without them. By the time Elliott develops and is genuinely relied upon to win trophies for Liverpool - he’ll be about 22/23. Same as the likes of Jones. City could sign a £50m young player and start him on the bench for much of his first year. The media wouldn’t make a fuss either as we can see it’s a top team to break into.
Scamacca's already moved to West Ham so not much point comparing them now, but yes I personally would have liked him at Utd. Nonetheless, it's very encouraging for me that Real are interested in Sesko given their recent record with young players. The fact that so many big clubs are interested in Sesko clearly shows he's a special talent worth pursuing.Would prefer to go after Gakpo but Sesko looks like a player with decent potential. Will he turn out to be a better investment than Scammaca though, who has more top level experience and is in a similar price bracket?
If we add Šeško and either De Jong or Neves, it's been a good window. We need more, but this isn't Football Manager and, sadly, we wasted our moment of strength as a buying force on Pogba, Sanchez, Falcao etc.
I'm comparing them because I'm sure we could have signed him had we wanted to go for him.Scamacca's already moved to West Ham so not much point comparing them now, but yes I personally would have liked him at Utd. Sanchez was 29Sanchez and Falcao were already old with nothing to give
Isn’t scammaca of to West Ham?Would prefer to go after Gakpo but Sesko looks like a player with decent potential. Will he turn out to be a better investment than Scammaca though, who has more top level experience and is in a similar price bracket?
Yeah he's already gone. I'm saying that we could have gone for him as he was in a similar price range and I think he would have wanted to come here. But I think they're a different profile to one another. Will be interesting to see how he develops.Isn’t scammaca of to West Ham?
