Sancho will do an adequate job for this season, don’t you think?
Yes. He’s going to play every single game and never get injured. And rashford is going to play every single game and never get injured so Sancho will never play on the left. Definitely happening. We don’t want or need a RW - that’s why we haven’t been after Antony all summer.

My mood? I’m not even involved in the debate
I actually agree with you, the window isn’t great so far but add de Jong and a striker and it is. The window isn’t finished yet. We needed a new left back, right back, centre half, midfielder and forward.

Yeah then we are on the same page. I don't get everyone that gets so personally offended by people mentioning that this window has been underwhelming. And it has. So a transfer like this would be a pleasant surprise.

We’ve survived longer than one season with no RW and done just fine. We have lots of options now even if they are not the managers preferred solution. No need for the sarcasm.

What grinds my gears is the talk that a move for this kid depends on Ronaldo. Feck that. We should be going for him anyway. Wish this club would show some fecking ambition for once and be proactive. Sitting on their hands waiting for de Jong, trying to convince Ronaldo to stay and then planning on reacting when he inevitably pushes for a move again and gets it, waiting 2 months to make a move for Antony at which point his price has doubled. Ridiculous.
We need to stop pandering to Ronaldo’s selfish nature and do whatever business it takes to challenge for the top spots this season.

So in other words wait for his value to skyrocket. I would definitely consider a loan with an option to buy, or just buy him outright. He will get games.

He’s on the market for about £40m but as soon as we’ll get involved offers will start at £70m.

We’ve done just fine? We’ve won sod all for 5 years, have underachieved massively to what we spend and last year had our worst season in PL history

Now we have even less options. The starting RW of the last 2 years has disappeared. Amad who struggled getting a place off the bench for Rangers , Pellistri who didn’t get any game time at one of the worst teams in Spain and Chong are not options for Manchester United. They aren’t serious options for any PL team. So what am I missing? Our manager wanted Antony. Our manager has said it is vital for us to be successful that we get more players in attack. That was when he was saying Ronaldo stays. A RW is a must this summer and at least 1 striker if Ronaldo leaves.

Uh huh, no trophies and competing in the Europa league every other season is fine. Delusional post

Same feeling of excitement as when I first saw Sadie Mané. First you notice their raw physical ability, the balance, the acceleration and the speed. It’s like when you see a young stallion with that raw floating step that make them seem like they’re flying above the ground.

I’m onboard the hype train. Get him.

Buy him and let them keep him for a season
I don't really get the point in this. My instinct is that Ronaldo is likely to force through a move so why would you loan him back to Salzburg when there's a very high chance we would need him to contribute even if he is a bit inexperienced.

Did we refund Sancho back to BVB?

That is the likely option to get him on cheap this year if Salzburg don't budge. Next season his value might increase and other big clubs may get seriously interested in buying him.

I don’t know who he is, but I do know that if we don’t sign him in the next few days then the board are incompetent fecks and I’m embarrassed to even support us.

Sorry what? No. Sancho is still here and is our only viable RW option who actually plays best on the left which is where he played last year and will play again if rashford gets injured/doesn’t improve after last year. Keep up.
He only played left last season cos both Ole and Ralf we re obsessed with inverted wingers- same reason Rashford was hung out on the right. This manager knows what he is doing - keep up!

The only delusional thing around here is the fans who think all is lost before the window is closed or before we’ve even kicked a ball in anger.
After a decade of the same old crap you'd have to be a bit special to brush all criticisms aside and pretend everything is fine and dandy. No need to resort to extremes either, no one is saying everything is lost

You assume I meant ‘done fine’ as I’m happy with not winning - I’m not and I resent the inference. However I believe last season was an anomaly (plus Sancho was already here) and the season before we saw Europa final and finished 2nd. Season before was 3rd. It’s not all doom and gloom. Now we have a tactically astute coach who can improve on what we have through coaching, I’m hopeful for a successful season - especially as we have acquired 3 of his targets already.

We finished 6th so we didnt do fine. In fact we havent done anything for the last 5 years trophy wise.

Ah yes. He never played on the left with Dortmund. And ETH doesn’t like his wingers inverting at all - I mean that left footed right winger Antony - you know - the one he wants to sign desperately for us - doesn’t constantly cut-in on his left foot.

So tell me if Sancho is almost definitely a RW in ETHs mind and he signed Antony for 60 plus million where is he playing? Right back?

Ah Jesus you’re all out tonight aren’t you?!! You’d think we were battling relegation last season or something. Doomers. Doomers everywhere.
No i am just pointing out 6th and a goal difference of 0 isnt fine. I am not personally having a go at you, just pointing out facts

Please take your moaning about transfers to FDJ thread. It has been going on for far too long to warrant your moaning even if it's being delayed due to reasons out of our control. But you do you.

This one we were only seriously linked today ffs.

**sigh** I didn’t say Sancho is ‘definitely a RW’ did I? I said he can do an adequate job on the right.
It doesn’t matter a joy where Antony plays because Ajax don’t want to sell and we won’t pay the price they are quoting.

You’re point was that Rangnick and Ole were obsessed with inverted wingers but ETH knows what he’s doing so is playing him on the right ie not inverted. However ETH loves an inverted winger Ziyech and Antony. Just didn’t really make sense as a post.

Been away from this thread all day and catching up. Funny anti-Romano sentiment on here. It went from ‘no credible links, just Romano making things up/pretending’ to ‘oooh, Whitwell too, let’s celebrate’ in about two hours!

Anyway, a potential world class centre forward is absolute gold dust at the moment. Actual world class tend to make one move which would be very expensive or they become available for their Indian Summer on super wages. We had bet the house on Greenwood and look to have missed out there, so if we can get one in now for less than 40m it’s a no-brainer. Bayern have just bought a teenager for near 30m who has played 70 minutes. It’s an arms race at the moment and big clubs will be going big early now to avoid the 150m market later on.

You can sigh all you want  You said he only played on the left because RR and Ole were obsessed with inverted wingers and he is now playing on the right because we have a manager who knows what he’s doing. That’s a little more than “he can do an adequate job on the right” - you’re insinuating anyone who doesn’t stick him on the right doesn’t know what they’re doing. Which is just proper silly.

Anyway, back to Sesko. I hope we sign him but the Whitwell tweet doesn’t sound that encouraging. I hope we take a look at Joao Pedro too. And I hope we move on from Antony and get a left footed right winger for ETH such as Olise. Back the man. He seems like the real deal.

Looks like Romano lost some credibility in the FDJ thread where he appears to have zero clue on what's going on. Anyways agreed on the dearth of good strikers. Real Madrid might also need one next year and they might see Sesko as an interesting option.

On the contrary, he seems to have been clued up on that deal to me. The most common moan I seem to be reading is ‘that’s not an update’ because people seem to be following that transfer like some sort of novel and expect every tweet to be some sort of plot development. To me, they appear the same because the situation appears the same. From what I can see, alongside Romero, he seems the most informed there because it’s apparent that he has a relationship with the agents, who are of course the same for both players. I could tell that with the way the Malacia situation went down, the level of detail, even after the deal was confirmed, the specific names of all parties that he uses. His stance on FDJ has been consistent in that ‘nothing agreed with the player, player doesn’t want to leave Barcelona’ - which again, would suggest to me that he is volunteering information directly from the player’s agent in light of the monies owed. This seems to be the stance from FDJ’s camp that until they are paid, they will maintain that he wants to stay, and they were reported to have been annoyed at other journalists from here stating that he would be happy to come to United (likely briefed from us in response to the constant ‘why go after a player who doesn’t want to come’).

I agree with you on Real, that thought had occurred to me. The most talented players don’t seem to want to play centre forward these days, and the ones that do are often slightly less good than those that play to the left or right of them. Ekitike has gone now, he was another promising #9. Sesko is one of a few remaining.

Salzburg want to keep him in order to sell him next summer and we all know what that means when his price will quadrople itself especially when it will found out that we're in the deal - opening bid will be 70m

Think 70m might be worth avoiding the catastrophe we face if Ronaldo is gone and Martial inevitably goes missing with injury
