Bebe

He's barely a footballer, let alone a centre forward.

The sooner he's gone the best for everyone. The running gag isn't much of a gag now.

Oh god imagine poor Bebé came onto redcafe to see what the United fans thought of him. So cruel

He isn't a shite footballer by any stretch of the imagination. He has terrific pace - his top speed really is tremendous - and he has a hammer of a shot on him. He also seems to dribble quite well, but like many tall players he can look a bit clumsy, yet rarely loses the ball. Considering his age when entering the big leagues, I think he is still a fairly big unpolished talent. He has quite a few attributes in his locker. The only problem is that as a striker, which he claims to be, he will get very little playing time at United. If he can adapt to a winger, he can get some game time and maybe improve with that. I don't see him as a lost cause yet.

Ye sounds about right, he definitely has skills and those who say he cant play at all etc are clearly clueless - but he came to us far too early really and the step up was too much too quick.

Will not get much playing time for us so he needs another loan, would be good if he stayed in England this time as it was difficult to get much info of how he progressed out in Portugal but seems he did become a regular starter at Rio Ave at least. A few bits on bobs at the end of this video:

I'll never take to Bebe because I was one of the 75000 who saw the Wolves crossing show. Quite a historical day that, a Park brace, Hernandez dive, Hargreaves playing 5 minutes and Bebe with the double substitution.

He'll never be United quality, I don't care how dickish it is to say it but it's so blatant.

Are your feelings skewered by that one performance? Or does it stem from all his reserve performances, tour matches and loan spells that you've seen him play just as incredibly shit in as well?

I now understand why you hate him so much! Luckily I wasnt there that day

Nothing wrong with saying you dont think he will ever be United quality, many promising youngsters dont make the grade - however saying he is barely a footballer is just bollocks

forget Fellaini and Coentrao - the big news of the day is that Bebe got a loan deal!

A Champo club should take Macheda.

He does have goals in him!

Saw him play for them in the Europa yesterday. Wasn't great but wasn't bad either. Only saw the second half though. He had some good moments then some meh moments.

Seems like he's doing very well on loan, again. Maybe he's not as rubbish as many would believe. Could he be worse than Young? With his insane pace, he might yet be a decent squad player.

I was listening to Quinton Fortune's interview with Andy Mitten. He said apart from Kagawa, Bebe is the most skillful player in training, and most players will vouch for this. He also said that Bebe's problem is that noone has taught him how to play the game from a young age.

Thought it was interesting.

He's nowhere near as bad as people make out. He's not amazing by any means, but he's quick, strong, can dribble, and has a powerful shot on him. Future United player? Probably not, but he's easily good enough to play at a decent level - lower Premiership/higher Championship, perhaps.

I saw something on mutv where I saw him doing a trick and thought okay didn't realise you had that in your locker.

So Quinton Fortune thinks Bebe is more skillful than RVP, Nani, Januzaj etc?

I'd argue Quinton knows less about football than Bebe based on that.

Sounds about right to me. People seem to write him off on basically every account - and when the laugh-smiley appears for me mentioning that he has bags of pace, I must wonder what they are smoking.

His dribbling, pace and shot are of high levels. What he lacks is a bit more difficult to say, but he certainly lacks something. Could still be a squad player though, but as you said, most likely not. I'm glad that he's doing well on loan!

You don't agree? One of the United players said he had similar pace to Bellion, who was remarkably fast. He's lightning quick!

Lightening quick? What's this based on? From what I've seen he doesn't look any quicker than Young and he's certainly not quicker than Valencia or Nani.

I've always thought Bebe's problem was he did not get proper coaching till 'late' in his footballing education. He came here after probably less than a year of any sort of real training so was clearly always going to be a major learning curve for him. He is quick and strong so seems to be built well as a winger/forward. His technique can always be improved. I think now with his time at us and other clubs he is a decent player now, he knows what to do more tactically and will have improved his basic skills like any footballer does with training.

Really? Based on a few runs that I've seen and the fact that the players also claim the he's very, very fast. Not being faster than Valencia still puts him in the top bracket as Valencia was named the fastest footballer in the world recently (not sure about that, but up there surely). Nani is very quick too - not sure what you are aiming at there - but he's surely quite a bit faster than Young (who is far from sluggish)

So he's a decent athlete, that's been established. Takes a hell of a lot more than that to make it at United. I've just read that you say his dribbling is of a "high level", what on god's earth is that based on?

Now you agree that him being a "decent" athlete is established, yet you made the brilliant argument of "" a couple of posts above.

He can dribble and has shown that he can easily beat a man from time to time. Even some fairly poor players can dribble quite well, but as you know, great speed and dribbling isn't even close to making a good footballer. Don't you think he can dribble or run very quickly?

If we are talking about League One or Two level then yes he's a decent enough dribbler. And I'm sure he'd look very quick in those leagues. I'll look forward to watching him play there in a year or 2 because he's never making it here or anywhere in the Premier League, never in a million years.
