Bebe

Rio Ave can climb to 4th spot tomorrow if they win their home game against Braga. That is an awesome position for a club of their dimension. Will watch the game if I have time, haven't seen Bebe play in ages.

What's word on him in Portugal these days?

What's word on him in Portugal these days?

I haven't noticed, I don't follow the Portuguese league in depth, I watch every Porto game, the occasional Benfica match, and prefer to spend the rest of my time watching random games from other leagues.

In regards to the football press, they mostly focus on the exploits of the three big clubs in the main pages. I was exploring a Rio Ave blog right now and he's definitely very motivated and in good form. Has started every match and scored two important goals (in 5 games) since he arrived plus another in a friendly.

I think these months in Portugal will definitely be a good thing from him. Probably a lot more comfortable being home rather than Turkey and playing at nearly the same level (in an inferior club, but likely against better opposition).

Still think a bit unlikely that a player playing for Rio Ave at 22 might succeed at a behemoth like United, but nevertheless I think most will be happy to see him make the best he can of his career regardless of where it is, and he seems to be on a good track to maximize his potential. The club he is at has something to fight for with the prospect of qualifying for Europe which will be a huge thing for them. And though highly unlikely, they can even dream of a Champions League play off at the moment.

He starts tonight. How ironic, of all our loanees he's having the best time of it :)

Michael Keane aside, he's also having a very good loan spell.

[Keegan] I would love it if he made it here. LOVE IT. [/Keegan]

Is that in the goal or in the game?

That was in the goal.

He wasn't much involved in the game though, at least on the first half. In the second I lost a bit of focus on the game, but he was subbed off at around the 70 minute mark.

Was playing on the left wing, didn't have much of the ball (Rio Ave was playing on the counter) nor space when he got it. Didn't do anything worthy of much note either negatively or positively. Random game, random performance.

The Bebe will be destroying Porto in about 3 hours time.
Should be streams available considering its Porto.

Unfortunately I won't be able to watch the whole game, I have a dinner with friends. There might be a TV at the restaurant but I doubt I will be able to pay more attention other than just following the score.

Might say that a slight reason for concern is that we have two first-choice defenders suspended, Alex Sandro (LB) and Mangala (CB, second-choice at LB).

Have no idea who'll be playing at LB, but it will possibly be someone inexperienced from the "B" team or an adaptation of someone who never played there, so it's a possible place to be explored by the likes of Ukra and Bebé, who are fast players.

Not enjoying this at all, so much possession, but lack of real creativity and urgency.

Scarily similar to our last 0-0 home draw.

That's about the worst way you can make yourself look like an idiot in a football pitch. fecking hell, I'd be in giggles if it wasn't Jackson Martinez.

It's a master plan. He was forced to do that by our coach to make it more likely that he stays with us another season.

The guy tried a cheeky chipped penalty and the goalkeeper didn't move so he just caught it.

Rio Ave haven't had much of the ball, so Bebe hasn't had much of a chance. He's worked hard enough and had a couple of decent dribbles.

Cheers Drainy.

At least Rio Ave are terrible in midfield so you don't really have that much threat of them establishing themselves in the game properly.

It was smart by the keeper and extremely dumb by Jackson. He has scored a panenka before. Last penalty he attempted was a blast over the bar. When he blasts it usually the keeper has no chance, so staying in the middle now was really keen of Oblak.

And Rio Ave scores. feck my life.
