Bebe

Pocco - he's fecking shit. Let it go ffs.

He's started very well in Portugal...

Whether he is good enough or not for us...he may well be good enough to play in a decent top league in Europe.

Which would mean he's far from shit like. Good enough for us or the Premier League is obviously another world.

I've watched near enough every game the reserves have had this season. Pocco you're right...at times he looks very capable on the ball, powerful even tricky at times with decent hit on him.

Other times he looks uncomfortable on the ball, Runs into players, Pushes the ball past players to run onto it and gives away freekicks, pushes the ball out of play, trips over his own feet etc.

As you say he occasionally does things you might associate witha player in an u18 shirt. I don't think he will make it here but I would say that he's nowhere near as bad as some, including myself, had him down for.

He's doing well on loan and, to be honest, he was never a winger. When he has played for the first team that is where he has been stuck out...which is not his natural position. That being said his crossing has greatly improved.

He won't get a chance here. There might be a footballer in there somewhere but he's not good enough for this level. I hope he has a career back in Portugal though.

I think the guy is utter fecking pony and it's beyond belief that someone who clearly has no football ability at all was fielded to play for Manchester United by Sir Alex Ferguson, one of the greatest managers ever. The guy has shown literally no understanding of how football is played and looks like he doesn't know the absolute basics of the game such as passing and the technique involved in curling a football. That match against Crawley where he and Obertan looked like the Non League players will never be forgotten for as long as I live. The pair of them dug their own graves on their Old Trafford careers that day. Obertan arguably worse on that day because he had in the past demonstrated that he had at least shown some signs that he had a modicum of ability. Even a watching Ali Dia was seen shaking his head that day saying "fecksake learn to cross a ball lad".

Madrid in for him so forced our hand? Like feck they were. Most bizarre and dodgy transfer in Ferguson's reign. Get rid as soon as, if we can. £10 should do it.

Hardly his fault we signed him, there was something dodgy there.

This loan is only to put him in the shop window as to maybe get about £500,000 for him, a shocking return but sure he's not Premier League standard.

As funny as it sounds, I'll have fond memories of him, he was a donkey but he's not unlikeable.

My favourite bit is when you get annoyed about the amount you have predicted we will make off him.

I know one thing, for sure, Bebe was never as crap as some of the rubbish written about him; understandable from lazy ignorant journalists but our own fans ----- Jesus wept!

I'm not writing him off.. But United will move on quickly.. so he has a lot of catching up to do if he has any chance...

Maybe not and maybe so.

I think he genuinely has the tools in his locker to be at a level where the brilliance he does show is effective enough for him to be a United player.

Of course not going to say he's amazing and he'll be at United forever because it's looking likely that he wont but I have to say I am genuinely chuffed he's doing well. I want him to.

I don't understand why any United fan would not want him to do well. Especially with his story.

He still doesn't deserve the abuse he gets.

Choosing to be perpetually trapped in a loop of remembering a few way ward crosses is a bit silly. His development was never going to happen overnight and his injury in Turkey obviously set him back a year or two. Every indication since then is that he's improving rapidly and beginning to show glimpses of why United took a punt on him. We should be encouraging and lauding these improvements rather than cynically tearing him down.

Very strange transfer to say the least, but castigating the guy for having the nerve to be bought by Manchester united isn't fair. It's not like he had any control over it. There's no call for the criticism he has received, from the press and the fans.

Certainly, the Daily Mail had an agenda against him. I'm a great believer in newspapers forming the opinions of its readers.

Right you are! Supporters should back their own players. But alas, there seem to be a mob mentality in here where one repeats negative comments others have made into what you eloquently referred to as a perpetual loop. He has shown good crosses too, so why should we keep remembering those poor ones? I've seen Giggs blas them on row z as well - he isn't a bad crosser. Let's give the lad time to show if he can develop properly. Physically, he has all the right tools in his locker.

There's no use trying to reason with subjective ignorance.

Just because a few of us think he's shit doesn't mean we don't back our players.
It doesn't make you a better supporter by saying you love him or you think he'll come good etc. The bottom line is this - he's not good enough to play for United. I have based that on what I have seem from him. Sometimes he looked so out of touch in the reserves it became embarrassing.

He won't make it here. Just get over it and move on. If we get any kind of fee for him it will be a result.

So why aren't we allowed to say he's shit?

Nobody is saying he's a cnut or anything, he's obviously trying very hard and is trying to make the most of his ability. Somebody like Macheda is the same. Fair play to them they've made it further than anyone here has but for a £7m striker, he's fecking shit.

Every indication since then is that he's improving rapidly and beginning to show glimpses of why United took a punt on him.

That is not true. He hasn't stood out in the reserves, save a few moments where he showed flickering glimpses of real ability. I remember him playing as the senior figure in a very inexperienced reserve team, he was left behind while the older reserve lads were on CL duty. He was very poor that night, he actually ran the ball out of play on more than one occasion. In that game he didn't even measure up to our U18 lads.

That he has started well in Portugal is somewhat of a surprise, if he can sustain that form it is the pertinent question, and even if he does it probably won't be enough for United.

Why should we move on because you say he's shit? If you think he's so shit and we should all stop talking about him how about you take your own advice and exit this thread?

He's still a Manchester United player and if we want to discuss him then we should be able to do so without smart arses like yourself coming here telling us all to stop talking about him.

He's one of those players you try to forget that they ever played for us.

He's not going to make it at United. Just forget about him

Why don't you take your own advice and let go, you're not adding anything here so why bother posting if all you want to do is keep spouting how shit you think he is and we should all agree with you?

Ok - I'll leave the thread now. You keep wanking over a nothing player like Bebe.
You can come back to me in 10 years time to reel off his achievements. I doubt it will take very long

No one is wanking. People are suggesting we may wait and see what happens instead of saying he is shite and forever will be shite. His development started a lot later than most players, so he shouldn't be measured up to other 22 year olds. If he plays well in Portugal, he may well come back and develop further.

He hasn't had much time in the reserves after his injury. Things seem to be on the up and up in Portugal.

Talking Vulture, I'm confused; if Bebe is such a shit footballer, then how is it that he's performing so well in the Portuguese Premier League, with two MoM performances there already? Surely that isn't something a shit footballer would be capable of?

He's agreed to leave the thread, don't draw him back in with reason.

The Caf always has a tendency to rate our players harshly.

Mame Diouf was also being called all kind of things here but he's having an excellent time in Germany.

Cynically? That was quite savage to be honest.

Didn't Milan Baros and El Hadj Diouff both score on their Liverpool debuts?

Taibi got MOM on his debut too I think.

Jermain Pennant scored a hatrick on his league debut against Southampton

;)

The same Elhadj Diouf who was a regular Premier League starter for a decade and Milan Baros with forty-eight goals in ninety-three games since moving to Galatasaray? The same Jermaine Pennant with 295 career Premier League appearances?

Simply speaking he'll be one of these odd fairly expensive foreign signings that never have even a glimmer of coming off, yet he'll loiter around the club for years.

He'll be filed in the Manucho, Diouf, Dong file.

And we'll wonder why we bothered lashing 20m or so on that little bunch, when we got VP for a reported 22m.

I won't be wondering that. I recognise that without taking punts such players you don't unearth players such as Javier Hernandez and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
