Bebe

Play him on the left, he did well there pre season.

I reckon this is going to end up a Fergie master stroke, we haven't seen the last of him.

This good string of performances will hopefully mean we can recoup our money in the summer.

I like the story and would love if he can prove me wrong but I think a decent selling fee is the biggest contribution he can make for United. Let's hope someone likes him enough to take him off our hands the coming summer.

Yea. A 3 to 4m sale will not make him one of Fergie's worst signings.

His last loan had a buyout clause, so i think this might too.

If we get nothing else from him or for him during his time here, at least he taught Valencia how to cross.

Could he still make it as a squad/impact player? He's got amazing pace (probably up there with the quickest in the league), strength and fairly decent dribbling abilities as well as a good shot.

I still think that we would sell him for a few million should an offer come in. Look at Tosic, he had an excellent loan in Germany and still didn't get a look in here. Fair play to Bebe though: I have slagged him off a lot, like many of us, but here he is proving himself as a real footballer.

He always had enough to make it as a real footballer tbh. Never really was convinced he would make it here though.

Probably found his level. Might become a Portugal international in the future too for a couple of games. Won't be that surprised.

He didnt get any proper coaching till his late teens. He'll be behind most players in terms of development.

His age shouldnt be that big a factor when you look at his level.. He's improving..
7m for someone Fergie hadnt seen will make this a crazy transfer whatever happens.. but I hope he turns into a good footballer...

Would be amazing if he made it here.. even if it was as a squad player for a season or two.

We'll sell him for a couple of million like with Manucho, Tosic, Diouf etc.. if we get that offer.

Btw, these punt type signings may not have been successful here but apart from Obertan are doing elsewhere at least.

Top news. Really good news for him.

I'd near enough written him off completely...I mean it's clear there is something there but being so behind everyone a few years younger than him...I thought there was no hope for the lad in top level football.

Fair fecks kiddo...long may it continue.

Regardless of the fee it is always nice to hear that players who are on loan are performing for their clubs. We should be supporting the fact the player is getting much needed game time and that he is making a positive contribution.

I'd like to put it out there that I've never slagged him off, I'm a Bebeliever.

It would be amazing, but he's got too many haters and I think it's an uphill challenge to try and win them over which is a shame.

I don't think he has any chance to be honest, but I'd love to be wrong. However, if he's doing well in Portugal one can't help but wonder what might have happened if last season wasn't a total write-off.

He's the only guy that can hit the North Stand tier 2 with a cross from the other side of the pitch.

People need to let go of the west ham match. One terrible game and he gets constantly crucified for it.

Edit: sorry wolves match.

I think it was Wolves.

Odds are stacked against him. Most players arent 'united quality'.. and there is a narrative set. Any mistakes or bad games and he will be heavily criticized for it..

But I keep going back to the fact that he is behind in his footballing development..

He's 22... Missed large parts of last season with an injury and has turned pro only a few years back.
Had a 19-20 year old from our reserves been doing well in the Portuguese league, people wouldnt be writing him off the same way.

He came to England. Most players struggle. It was even harder for him with the media out for him... not entirely their fault.. the story was written for them.
But it certainly wasnt his fault.

He struggled.. intense scrutiny. Didnt do enough. Goes out on loan. gets injured.
Gets a pre season with us.. does well. Plays regularly for the reserves.. does well. Goes out on loan.. is doing well.

I'm not writing him off.. But United will move on quickly.. so he has a lot of catching up to do if he has any chance...

I hope he stays with us for a bit longer at the very least.. because I think it'll help him improve more than being at a 'smaller' club.

It'd be great if he did make it here. That would be a real fairy tale come true. Good luck to the lad wherever he plays.

Me too. I always thought he could be like Paulo Wanchope for us. A player not schooled with basic football education and can bring unpredictability to United. But of course in a good way. I live in hope, no matter how fat it may seem.

He was probably doomed from the moment SAF admitted to never watching him play, why would he tell us that there was no need.

I'm not proud of this, but once I got the idea in my head I couldn't stop myself.

Oh Bebe, Bebe, how was I supposed to know? That you might need some time here.
Oh Bebe, Bebe, we shouldn't have let you go, and now you're not that shite yeah.

Show us, that we judged you harshly, come on Bebe, cause you need to work hard, oh because.

My winger woes, are killing me (and I) I must confess, I still believe (still believe). But when you cross I just lose my mind, give it a try, cross it Bebe one more time.

feck the haters.

You're ignorant of things that happen under your own nose. Bebe has proven both with the reserves and in preseason that he isn't anywhere near as bad as he looked against Wolves. He can actually play a bit, believe it or not.

I think he'll get one more crack at it here, starting with League Cup outings. He'll need to play out of his skin every time he gets a chance though, and that's just to earn a chance on the bench for the first team. Fortunately he can be afforded the time as long as he doesn't get impatient.

 I like it, but he's just not a winger, I don't see him as a winger.

He's not shit at all. At points over this last year he's shown every tool required to be a good player; the first touch, strength, pace, one touch passing, a great shot. Yes it's been inconsistent, but sometimes I think people haven't given him the praise he's deserved. If he could put it together then he would be a good player. Maybe not here, but he could be a good player at a decent level. Seems he's already good enough for the top division in Portugal and he's still far off the finished article.

Pocco, also lets bare in mind he gets played out of position. He plays his best when through in the centre.
