Bebe

He won't make it here. Will be doing well to even be a bit part player.

Seems like Fergie has some hope for him. Hopefully we can all just move on from that "price tag" and stop theorising any conspiracies.

Anyway, I like Bebe. He has a ferocious shot and I think if he was to play in a more central role he will prove to be a lot better than most give him credit for. I hope he has a good loan spell and comes back next year to prove the doubters wrong.

That interview is enough for you to think there was nothing dodgy about the deal? Fair enough, but not everyone will agree.

He'll never make it here, but if we can essentially promote him from being an ex-homeless fourth tier player to playing for a team who could be playing in Europe then it's not all bad. That is assuming that there was something dodgy about the whole saga, which I reckon there was.

He'll improve.. Hopefully he gets a good run of games and stays fit.

Not at all. I was just stating that people should stop with the conspiracy theories regardless.

One day there will be a film about Bebe. Assuming of course he becomes a success, if not the film will portray that he became a success and give the character a different name.

Don't think so, he's trying to give him the best chance to still have a career in football at a reasonable level so he can sell him & recoup some of the outlay.

Not a bad idea to try and recoup the money we spent on him.:p

If there was ever a chance of Bebe making it with United, the injury last season killed it. He just couldn't afford to miss such a long time when already behind on his development. He'll be sold to some club in Portugal for peanuts in the summer.

He's gone from being a player in the third tier of the Portugese league to a loan move to a club that potentially could be playing Europa League football next season. He's not going to be a world beater, but he's certainly improved since we took him on.

I don't get why everyone thinks its an agent pay off when Fergie hates paying agents with a passion. Look how many deals we pull out on because of agent fees. Hazard and Moura alone in the summer.

Conspiracy theories are inevitable when you buy an unknown guy from a really low level off football who the manager has only see on video tape.
Something he's never done before.
Then there was the talk that we could have bought him for 250k rather than the reputed 7m

Especially when the agent is a high profile one involved in some really high profile player's careers.

Bebe was not just average, but very bad indeed.

I think the most sensible thing our fans can do with regards to Bebe is to pretend he's two or three years younger than he actually is. If you view his career with us to date through that lens then he doesn't look too bad at all, and considering his background and his footballing education this seems an entirely sensible approach.

He hasn't been as bad as people make him out to be at all.

He's actually quite a prolific score considering he plays on the wing for the most part.

Either fergie got duped by quieroz or it was a cover for an agent.

Either way bebe has been blessed, fair play to him for giving it a shot.

Its the hair. Should never have cut the dreads off.

Had a good pre season with us this year (well the games I saw anyway)

It's that embarrassing game he had on the wing that everyone goes back to. Unfair.

People also laughed at Diouf playing on the wing in some League Cup game, but the lad goes to Germany and is literally lighting it up.

Bebe has size, strength, and can dribble for a big man. I can see why Fergie hasn't lost hope.

Watching him in the reserves this season I have very little faith that he will be anything other than a average footballer and that is at a stretch. I'm glad he has gone but its a shame its only on loan.

Fergie will always talk highly of his players to look after them, showing loyalty and boosting their confidence. To get a more accurate picture of the situation we should read his actions, in which he has just sent a 22 year old on loan to second division portugese team.

They are top flight.

It's so weird watching Bebe. For the most part, he looks a lot like a quality Rugby player that has never played football before, what with his kicking technique, pace and physique. Sometimes though, aside from his physical attributes, you just see...something. Something that makes you think he resembles a decent footballer.

Not entirely sure how far that 'something' goes, mind. I can't see him ever improving to the extent that he'd end up being a starter for us, but he does have these random moments whereby he does look to have some quality. Think he's probably massively overwhelmed at where he is to be honest and that he's at least a little better than he's showing.

They are top flight.

Apologies. Point still stands though. He should be doing better than that at 22, its not as if he's small and were still waiting for him to grow either.

He'll be a decent player but not at a top club.

Pleased we've continued to weed out the poorer squad players.

I think for me, it's only Macheda that I'd want shot of now, and that's not so urgent.

I still believe he's going to score another first team goal for us.

Played half an hour today for Rio Ave against SL Olahenese in a 1-0 loss.

You poor deluded bastard.

Would you care to make a wager?

I would if I wasn't a gambling addict, I need to stay well clear of betting. But I maintain that he will score again for us.

With a quick look at Sky Sports' "Score Centre" it doesn't seem as if Rio Ave have even played tonight
