Bebe

Was by all accounts horrendous last night with the reserves. Would like to hear from someone who actually watched the game as I'm just basing this on some people on twitter.

But in any case the reality is that he can't get on the CL bench in his third season here. He's simply not good enough.

He ran the ball out of play under no significant pressure on more than one occasion, I think three times; he hit a Bebe special cross at one point and worst of all - he looked poor in a really young United side. He looked fundamentally worse than our U18 lads.

He occasionally does something well...and then fecks it up not 10 seconds later.

He's powerful and can crack a shot. That's it.

As you say pur under 18's have much more about them. He's poor. That's the end of it.

Million Dollar Bebé

Lol, that was my last trip to OT. He was hilarious!

The day was topped off by Hargreaves' surprise inclusion and inevitable withdrawal after only a few minutes...

By far the worst performance that I have seen for United. It is was so bad it was almost like an abstract work of art, 'Am I dreaming this'.

I don't think he's ever played so poorly for the reserves as in that Wolves game, at least.

Hopefully someone told him to just give it a little tap tap taparoo instead of trying to kill the ball's grandmother with his kicks.

He actually pulled off an outrageous piece of control on the turn last night. He does confuse.

Yep, and here he is beating 4 men against Sunderland the game before last. There's probably a youtube compilation out there that makes him look fairly good.

He is very fast, and strong as an ox, he has ball skills but I think he is behind mentally rather than anything else.

It's a shame he was never schooled from a young age as he could of made it...

Going on loan to Rio ave.

Just googled. top half first division Portuguese club. Decent level. Hope he gets games.

From Sky Sports:

The 22-year-old joined United in 2010 in a deal worth £7.4m but has failed to hold down a regular place at Old Trafford and was shipped out on loan to Besiktas after just one year at the club.
You can say that again

I don't think we will ever understand the price tag but still, hope he has a successful loan spell and develops closer to what we would expect...

Hopefully he'll go on loan and come back a world class player. I don't know why people have to Bebe so critical.

Hope he has better luck with this loan spell. Injuries ruined the last one for him and it will be good to see him do well this time and possible show us why we signed him in the firs place

Spending all my nights
All my money going out on the town
Doing anything just to get you off of my mind
But when the morning comes
I'm right back where I started again
Trying to forget you is just a waste of time

Bebe come back, any kind of fool could see
There was something in everything about you
Bebe come back, you can blame it all on me
I was wrong, and I just can't live without you

"We feel the boy has got to get good experience at a better level than our reserve team," Ferguson told MUTV.

"He's gone to Rio Ave who are fifth in the Portuguese league at the moment - they have a young coach [Nuno] who has a very good reputation.

"Bebe has done quite well in the last two or three months. He got a cruciate knee injury when he was on loan in Turkey last season and that derailed him for a bit.

"Coming back from these injuries takes time but he's started to develop quite well. Hopefully his spell in Portugal, where he is from anyway, could help him."

Seems like Fergie has some hope for him. Hopefully we can all just move on from that "price tag" and stop theorising any conspiracies.

Anyway, I like Bebe. He has a ferocious shot and I think if he was to play in a more central role he will prove to be a lot better than most give him credit for. I hope he has a good loan spell and comes back next year to prove the doubters wrong.

I think the most sensible thing our fans can do with regards to Bebe is to pretend he's two or three years younger than he actually is. If you view his career with us to date through that lens then he doesn't look too bad at all, and considering his background and his footballing education this seems an entirely sensible approach.
