Some good posts in here now.

When I said "he's not a winger" I probably should've also defined that I meant 'winger' as in a 442 winger, i.e Valencia, Bale etc.

I could definitely see him playing wide in a front 3, but I don't think he's an out and out wide man.

He's got a pace of a winger and the strength of a striker.

Got non of that skill of a winger though, won't be seeing any foot magic from him besides the odd crossover. Just looking at his celebratory dance you know this boy wasnt made to move pretty.

Got a surprisingly good feel of the goal, if you check the goals he score he hardly looks up and just knows where the goal is. That in itself is a talent.

Dont' think it's fair to him to place him in a labelled box Striker or Winger. He's good in the higher end of the pitch that's about it.

he is still new to the country for god sake .. cant even speak a word of english and yet expectation is for him to play well from the word go.

I'm quite surprised by his impact at the club so far, never thought he would make much of a contribution until the start of next season. So far he looks well worth the gamble we've taken, he certainly knows where the goal is! I just hope he - like Obertan - gets more opportunities for the first team in the coming months. Can't say he doesn't deserve it, seems to work hard on his fitness as well.

Cracking goals but lately I have been finding it odd to see £6mil plus players playing in the reserves.

It must have been awful for you seeing Nani, Carrick and Anderson playing in the reserves. You poor soul. How ever did you cope?

So have we shattered the illusion that he doesn't have any talent? (reaction after the Wolves game)

2 very good goals from Bebe. The lad just needs time.

its very simple

to get the best out of bebe he should shoot from anywhere - crossing is over-rated

He's got a lot going for him, certainly.

Pace, strength, pretty good eye for goal from what I've seen, and gets into good positions to score.

It doesn't look like he has great skill, but that's not necessarily a prerequisite for being a good winger (Valencia and Bale aren't particularly skillful, but they're still very effective).

A year in the reserves with a smattering of 1st team appearances here and there will do him good.

The lads 17 right? He reminds me of Ronaldo when he first came to us just minus the stepovers and actualy converts most of his chances

Give Bebe a couple years of proper professional training focusing especially on his passing and crossing, and then we will be considering the 6 mil a bargain.

Just remember what Gareth Bale cost and how long it was before he started to come good.

Nothing like Ronaldo in all fairness. When Ronnie first came to us I was certain he'd be the best player in the world, with Bebe it's more, let's wait and see if he'll be good enough for us.

Ronaldo looked an unbelievably good talent when he first came to us. His debut alone was jaw dropping.

And the game he played before that was equally special. He raped O'Shea and all of the United team that night in Lisbon.

His debut in England caused Rodney Marsh in the SS studio to say "if this lad doesn't become the best player in the World I'll eat my hat". So the comparisons with Bebe are way wide of the mark. That said, I have high hopes for our new winger.

Yeah, just listen to the crowds' reaction when he came on, Ronaldo was something different.

He's rough around the edges, but he definitely has a load of talent. Give him time with legitimate training and being with the United first team, I think he'll come good. He's got the potential.

That Bolton game was something else. I was a fan back then, but only like 12 so didn't understand what we had bought. When I saw him I was so excited, me and my Dad spoke about him all the way home.

Oh yeah. With Ronaldo and Rooney even an untrained eye could see that they would be special.

Comparing Bebe, Nani, Obertan etc. etc. with them is moronic. Players like that come once in 20 years.

That doesn't mean that the youngsters I mentioned can't become very good players.

Moronic? Oh do feck off, it's far more moronic to predict the fecking future.

The thing that's impressive about him is he's always looking to receive the ball, and always looking to drive at people and do something with the ball when he gets it...even against Wolves when he was having a nightmare, it didn't deter him.

I think in that sense there is a comparison to Ronaldo, as he basically did the same thing.

He's got some talent too, some of what he does shows that, and it's also noticable that his team mates will always look to get the ball to him, which means they must have already developed some confidence that he's good enough to do something with it.

No idea if he's good enough but reckon he's shown enough to be given some patience and time. The way he plays means he'll be frustrating as hell for at least the first year, possibly longer.

How do you mean? Just wondering because we appear to have had two at the same time...

And let's not re-write history with Ronaldo, he always had huge potential but after that debut he got his fair share of slatings. Him becoming the player he did was never a sure thing. It was hoped for, but never certain. Similar to how many are with Anderson right now - there's a potentially brilliant player there, we just don't know if it'll emerge.

Bebe doesn't have that level of expectation, which is perhaps a good thing. I think he's shown very good promise all things considered - strong, quick and doesn't seem shy. Can clearly hit a ball well. He could be a monster if things go his way, we'll have to wait and see.

Thats what I've been thinking. A talent like Ronaldo is just so rare and when he had his debut, you just knew that he was something else!
