funny how people was slagging him off at will during the wolves game.

Nothing new... I ve saw ppl doing the same with Ronaldo calling him a "one trick pony" in his first season.

You have to accept that certain people mouth is much bigger than their brain...

Finishing really seems to be his best asset.

Brilliant goal.

Oh and I would love a link to watch these games lives ;)

His crossing was awful, but the guy never hid, he kept on trying. Idiots were calling it the worst performance they had ever seen from a United player, which was ridiculous.
Plenty of players just glide through games as if they are invisible, never fecking up because they keep away from the ball. Jordan Henderson seems to have gained a 20m valuation by doing just that.

I like Bebe and I think he's got a lot of (admittedly raw) talent, but that was literally the worst I have EVER seen a United player play, in any game in any context ever. I thought anyone giving him more than a 2 in the ratings thread was being generous, and normally I'm a fairly generous rater.

made me laugh the people laughing and writing him off because of his bad crosses in that other game.

As one poster here says the other parts of his game were fine. Here's hte point:-

He's not even a winger - so why are we getting into this argument about his crossing. Everyone that's ever worked with him says he's an amazing finisher. He's a striker!

That was an amazing finish. Wouldn't mind seeing his other goal!

Er, what is he then??

I honestly think his best position will be as a deep cf, or second striker if you will.

Listen, I'm just really, really glad to see a player in a Utd shirt scoring goals like that volley for our reserves. Especially after the 'mare he had in his last game. Tonight is a massive positive for him (and Utd).

But when you look at his technical ability shown in front of goal - which tonight was not just 'good', but phenomenal - and then compare it to his utter lack of technical ability delivering balls to team-mates, it surely isn't difficult to see where I'm coming from...

I would disagree with you there. Crossing aside he wasn't all that bad. If he was having a real stinker he wouldn't have got into the positions to feck up those crosses. There's been worse performances from United players this season, never mind ever. Three or four of them against Villa last weekend.

He put in a good cross today, and it hasn't really been that much of a problem in his other spare appearances. I recall a couple very good bullet-crosses from him in one of his Portugal U21 matches.

Yeah, that's starting to bug me too. fecks up a few crosses in his first PL game and he's not a winger any more. Bizarre.

Nothing bizarre about it. Some people can just watch the guy and think he looks more of a Kaka than say a Nani or Ronaldo. Dude looks good when just going through the middle, he can use both feet well.
Is it also not bizarre to think he is a winger based on the few times you have seen him? Why attack other people opinion like this?
It may not be an attack, but that word bizarre bugs the feck out of me.

I saw him once as a striker, he was turd. He's definitely a winger/wide forward, in fact despite the other day his biggest strength probably IS his crossing, he's just a young inexperienced lad though and I can understand him having a poor game the other day.

It's bizarre to watch any 20 year old footballer in one game and make definitive statements about where he can and can't play. Especially when that same young footballer has already put in decent performances in the position he allegedly can't play. Including the game in which he scored the goal we're all drooling over!

If the word bizarre really bugs you all that much, I'd have to say that's a bit... well... bizarre...

Yes this is just a comp, but look at his starting points of attack in this vid? He was not confined to just one part of the field, he looks more devastating come down the middle and moving a big wide.
Anyway, time will tell, but it will be wise for all not to attack what other people think since we are all working with a small sample size.

I think that's half the problem with this place sama, we need to give him time. The Wolves game just screamed nerves at me, he was simply nervous. Some people questioned his technique etc. If people had bothered to look at the kid's first touch in that game it was very good, even when his crossing went awry he still managed to keep his first touch which to me is the sign of a proper player.

I don't think anyone knows for sure where he'll end up playing. I know I don't. If I had to guess from the very little I've seen of him, I could see him as wide in a front three. Feck knows though. It's the people saying he's definitely NOT a winger that I disagree with, seeing as that's the one position he's actually getting picked to play!

Clearly you can discern that those statement the posters made were speculative in nature and are bound to change with time, but based on the very little they have, that is what they believe now. This is not an issue for anyone to police over. If you think he is a winger just make your case however bizarre it may be. If I think he is not a winger I should be able to make my case regardless of where the coaches are playing him. After all they did not watch him before buying him so who the feck knows they are doing the right thing?

From what I've seen I'd say he's more of a wide forward than a traditional winger. Seems to have a directness about his play as well as decent finishing. He'll be more of a Ronaldo than a Valencia.

He looks best wide in a front 3 where he can roam, he's not a Valencia type winger. He looks far more comfortable there in what I've seen of him so far as he can go outside his full back and cross, or cut inside and look to shoot or play someone else in.

Wow, those are well taken. He was right when he said he scores lots of goals.
I have a sneaky feeling this guy may make me doubt what I know about football for a long time. If he becomes a world beater a lot of people will look foolish.

Nah, the statements I disagreed with were not speculative in nature. Re-read them. As for the coaches and their decisions where to play Bebe they're a damn sight better informed than every single person on here, seeing as they've seen him in training every single day for weeks and weeks.

up till wolves, his crossings been very good. His technique seems to be all or nothing. He 'batters' the ball. I think against wolves he lacked a bit of intelligence. There is no question he can cross a ball and he's another we can be positive about in the years to come. Tremendous goals

He played very well for the reserves tonight. People shouldn't forget that he wasn't even supposed to be near our first team this season. I'm pleased with his progress and you can sense that his sharpness and fitness are increasing all the time. He can develop into a winger with potent finishing ability for us. Remind you of anyone?

But the best thing about this is seeing him make the haters eat their words. Every goal, assist or good performance will be a dagger in the hearts of the media that wrote him off before he'd kicked a ball.

He reminds me a bit of Ronaldo. Always good at taking the ball from wide areas and taking it inside to build up attack.

He's your original type of street striker this lad. Little professional training, fast, gutsy, determined and knows how to score. He might be raw, he might lack some finesse in his style, he might have a bad game or two but he sure knows how to get the ball in the back of the net one way or another. That volley from the right tonight was a little belter too.

Well I'm not saying he's definitely not a winger. I could see him playing wide in a front 3. All I'm saying is I think his best position is as a striker.

Time will tell. Frankly he has enough ingenuity to do either.

I am upset - think I've seen all the games he's played in since has come to us and I can honestly say that I haven't seen enough to make a determination of what his best position will be.

Wish I could after just a few games, determine that - be bloody awesome.

Early days, let him even have a broken up season of playing a bit of sub for the 1st team, a start there and some reserve games before we even begin to suggest what his best position might be - don't think even the coaches will presume to know that yet.
