Would you be happy to see Jose Mourinho become next United manager?

There are about 293 insane people on this forum, Lol. What's your argument against Mourinho?

1. He plays negative footbball - what can be more negative than what LVG has served up for 2 ys now? Mourinho's negative football wins trophies atleast.
2. He doesn't stay long - How long did Moyes stay, how long will LVG stay?
3. Doesn't promote youth - Let's start producing the talent first, as we're not doing that now.
4. Took Chelsea to 16th place - A manager of his standing can be afforded a poor season or two, he won them 2 trophies in 2 yrs.

I seriously don't know how anyone can look at United right now and not want Mourinho to take charge of the club. The reputation of this club is being dragged through the mud on a daily basis & he's this only guy out there that can get us back to the top as quickly as we need to !

At this point, anyone who doesn't want Jose to take over must have their own agenda and putting their needs before the needs of the club.
It cannot get any worse on the pitch.

Here's what Balague said:

Similar to what Duncan Castles and Rory Smith said.
On the other side of the coin, Di Marzio is absolutely certain Mourinho will be here next season.

That table shows just how ridiculously good Fergie was. To maintain that win percentage over 800 games is unreal. Wenger as well in fairness.
What is even more ridiculous is the no of goals we have scored under Fergie. Over 2 a game. Even The Barca Lookalikes managed less than that! As for van Gaal, no comments!

I have changed my vote from No to Yes recently, but I am still worried about Mourinho's style.

Chelsea in 14/15 were a strong team but so boring and rigid to watch. A lot of their games were 0-0 at half time because they were passing it around the box a lot, not attacking.

Define "a lot".

In 14/15, Chelsea were involved in 8 league games that were 0-0 at half time. I've not compared that to the rest of the league in that season but, considering only 2 of those games finished 0-0, it doesn't sound that bad.

In that same season, Chelsea scored 3+ on 10 occasions - over 25% of their league matches.

Who is the more reliable of the two? I don't know much of Di Marzio. Balague was a bit of a guesser a few years ago, but he's been spot on with all the big stories in the last 2 or 3 years. I hope he's got this one wrong.

Just because he hasn't got an offer YET doesn't mean he isn't going to be here...
EDIT: Mendes clearly sending a message though...

It's absolutely unthinkable that we'd be that stupid to not bring in Jose.

I thought that when we were mucking about with Thiago in the 2013 transfer window...

...then again when respected lawyers turned up at the Spanish league HQ trying to get Herrera out of Bilbao...

...both times I was proven wrong. I am no longer surprised by Man Utd screwing up deals. Taking ages to make a decision and then losing out on targets has become habitual under this administration.

Clearly the current affairs are to negative for LVG to turn this around and it would be a blunder of immense proportions if the board have not anticipated of failing to get into the top 4 by not contacting managers during this whole situation.

Absolutely. Balague being right doesn't mean Mourinho at United won't happen. I just hope there is some sort of talk happening and in place. The longer it goes on, the more convinced I am he's going to get fed up with waiting or take another offer. I'm sure he's not short of job offers.

What are we all actually going to do if we give Mou a miss and keep Van Gaal on? I don't know whether I could do another season of this shite. Might take up following another sport til this all blows over.

His last tweet on the topic shows he's anything but certain. He said it's what he's heard doesn't mean it will happen.

Will start watching curling. As shit as it is, it is still less boring than our football.

I'm so convinced LvG is gone in the summer, I can't actually fathom another season of this tumescent mess.
If Van Gaal is not sacked when (not if) we miss out on 4th, I'll personally arrange the plane banner.

Di Marzio is king of exclusives plus got flawless track record and just because Wooden Ed buying LvG some alcohol doesn't mean he'll shag him and tell about absolutely everything what's happening in the club.

Mou and United talked behind closed doors but so far looks like Lou gonna play victim who just suddenly going to find out he's gone and have some moral ground to stand on at the end of his football adventure.

Sounds like the worst TV series ever but drama was always part of the show.

If we aren't pushing for Mourinho, then we must be in for another top manager. Maybe, Pochettino or Simeone. I'm convinced Giggs and LVG won't be at the club next season.

If its not Mourinho who else could it be? There's zero links to anyone else apart from small ones to Pochetino. Even he wouldn't decide to leave Spurs when he has managed to build a decent side and will get to manage in the champions league next season (something he was worked hard for two years to achieve). And he has his eyes on Madrid and Barca anyway... Doubt he's too interested in our mess right now

Of course Van Gaal is gone in the summer. The only question is whether Mourinho is the guy we'll replace him.

Gary Neville?

That Daniel Harris article mentioned names like Simeone, Allegri, Tuchel, Conte and Emery, for example. I guess Pellegrini will be free too? There are alternatives out there, they're just less obvious than Mourinho.

We don't know. It's obvious we have spoken to Mourinho at some point. But IMO it's also obvious we aren't very keen on him. I am sure we have spoken to a bunch of other managers. My personal opinion is that we are exploring the opportunity to sign a preferable candidate to Mourinho and until that option is explored, will we move on Mourinho. Mourinho sensing what we are doing, is try to force out hand by saying he will move elsewhere.

I have a feeling Mourinho isn't our first or second choice.

Tuchel isnt going to leave dortmund after 1 year at dortmund. Especially when he's actually doing very well.

Stories about Simone suggest he has no desire to leave Atletico and again he's competing for titles and Europe

Allegri, Conte, Emery and Pellegrini aren't near the level of Mourinho

Mourinho has been at a couple of Dortmund game sinces getting the sack

Any chance Dortmund would be sniffing around him? Would be odd considering the good job Tuchel seems to be doing.

Nah, no way they'd sack Tuchel at the moment, surely.
