In all seriousness, where else does he have to go? If we miss out on him, what about Pellegrini - he would still be available.

I do like Pellegrini, but unless he turns City's season around then he's arguably failed there. Good manager, but probably not a top one, which is what we need to be aiming for.

We need him, he will uplift the standard greatly and with the budget bring in some world class players and talents. When he starts falling out with people, bring in a long term manager who we trust to build us and maintain at a high level.
Yep. And let's hope he doesn't lose his mind before we've won a few trophies.

I somewhere hope/think that'll happen. He has had a year to evaluate his recent jobs and analyse where it went wrong, from various reports it seems he'd really like to manage Man United, he has a good relationship with SAF, and he knows what this club is about. I somewhere trust him to cut down a bit the silly things he's done at his previous clubs, but Mourinho is still Mourinho.

Pellegrini is awful, he's arguably doing worse than LVG considering the players he has at his disposal.

Let's hope so.

He seems to think he has a good relationship with SAF - I don't SAF really likes him. SAF will flatter him as long as he's not our manager, but if he does get the job - watch SAF go cold on him.

In any case, I don't even care - get the bastard in.

Possibly, but why? SAF seems to have shown genuine support to Moyes and both LVG, what would be different to Mourinho.

Sir Bob let the cat out of the bag a few years back in an interview - it was basically that SAF respected what Mourinho had achieved but didn't particularly like him....
My personal feeling is that this is the case - of course I could be wrong but we'll see...

Nahhh - not worth it now. Let's stick with our mighty man, and his trusty sidekick.
ps. jokes aside, if you are Jose, are you super annoyed that the job hasn't been offered yet, or do you like what you see re: backing the manager like crazy?

Someone he likes, like Moyes, or someone he doesn't like Mourinho.
Sounds comedy when you word it like that

How long do we have to wait? Honestly get the man in already. Let him get used to our club and then sort out our squad in the summer. We need a clear out.

This
No point waiting for the summer, get him in now and let him start rebuilding. Season is finished already as far as I'm concerned.

Mendes better be spamming woodward with calls, emalis, tweets, facebook messages, smoke signals, letters, fax and interpretive dance after this game or vice verca

The longer we hang on to LVG the deeper we fall to shit and the less likely Mourinho would even want to manage us. We're a fecking mess.

The cheap ass owners are waiting until it's mathematically certain we go don't get 4th - that way they can sack him and Giggs and their entourage without paying compensation. They did it with Moyes. They'll do the same with LVG.

He's due to meet with Inter officials according to his stalker Duncan Castles.

Err. How do you know what the contract says about the severence package?

If that turns out being the case then it just confirms that the club is run by a bunch of moronic, incompetent assholes.

Can't wait.

The cost of falling further down the league more than outweighs the financial benefit of not paying him off.

Yeah, I suspect he's(Jose) worried that they'll(we) end up hiring someone else.
I'm losing track of where I'm saying this stuff, so apologies if I'm repeating myself, but Rory Smith on the Game podcast said the more noise from Jose's camp the more he believes Mourinho is worried about not getting the job. I think in the next week or two he'll put a proper push on to bring things to a head.

Longest talks ever

The 'talks' probably involve making jokes about how Woodward and LVG are taking the utter piss out of our club

He has his negatives but at this point we badly badly need him.

Please stop this narrative... It feeds back into the club.... It's too late anyway the naysayers have done thier job in taunting Mourino as Woodward thinks he has the fans backing not to employ Jose.

There are no negatives whatsoever with employing Mourino, especially in our current guise.

Yeah, makes sense. So, why haven't we signed him up? Beggar belief.

This man is still the reigning premier league champion ffs. It isn't very often that one of the top managers are available when you need a new manager - we've experienced that twice in the space of three years. City, who have a much better team than us, were willing to get rid of their premier league winning manager for an upgrade. I just don't understand is not signing him - unless he genuinely isn't interested.

Wouldn't be great if we end with Giggs in the same season that Pel, Mourinho, Klopp and Ancelotti changed clubs?

And then Sir Alex a year after Giggs relegates us will say that Giggs was only our sixth choice.
Don't even joke about it. Fecking scares me that scenario.
