BBC: United hold talks with Mourinho

Would you be happy to see Jose Mourinho become next United manager?

My only solace is, if/when we get Jose Mourinho in, then based on our crazy patience, he'll demo not have a lack of time to get it right (which I have 1000x more faith that he will).

No longer a big club? What, after 3 years of underachievement? Are you about 11 years old?

Define a big club? How can a team who's finished 7th, 4th and suffered 7 defeats whilst sitting in 5th be considered a big club? Trophy less for what looks like 3 seasons, as well.

You're doing a disservice to actual "big clubs".

Because he'd have the chance to work at a much bigger club.
Everyone's convinced Pochettino would drop Spurs in a heartbeat to join us just because we're a bigger club...

We've been a bigger club for a long long time, doesn't stop them being a better proposition than us right now. They have a young team full of domestic talent and spirit, a new stadium coming, probably Champions League football next season and a young manager who is going to have the world at his feet if he carries on like this with Tottenham for a couple more years.

Right now we are a managerial graveyard.

No. Your post was shit. Being indignant is only bringing greater scrutiny to it. You'd be better off piping down and hoping no one else noticed.

Question for me is, would Jose Mourinho actually want to come to us if we don't have CL football (and let's not even get into the calibre of players that wouldn't come either).

Yeah he will still come. It'll create more of a challenge for him, which he will enjoy. It possibly actually makes it an even more appealing job. He's not like Pep in that respect.

The only thing stopping me getting unbelievably angry after our games at the moment, is the belief that this is happening. If it gets taken away from me, I'm worried about my sanity.

You still think he'll come?

Like I said, we are no longer a big club. We are living off Fergie's legacy.

United are a mammoth of a club.

However, we currently have an absolute atrocious squad. Appalling for the self proclaimed "biggest club in the world".

 Echoing Jamie Jackson. The report is from Castles. That's as close to Mourinho as you'll get.
If Giggs gets the job:lol:

Castle's is good on Mourinho stuff?

Would love to know where Mourinho would end up if it's not us, can't se the Portugal job floating his boat really, nor the England job.

Fitting in with my Pochettino rumours from the other day?

If he's not coming here, his best bet is Perez getting tired of Zidane.
And yes Castles is close to Mourinho's people.
The Sun had a report that our first choice was Pochettino. Might be an explanation.

Dear God, it gets worse and worse. I just don't know what to believe these days.

The BBC never said we offered him the job or that we were negotiating. We just contacted him. There's a lot of difference.

Perez would have to follow Zidane out the door so would doubt that one, PSG is seemingly gone, as are all the other top jobs really, can't see him fancying club football in Portugal again, maybe Juve if Allegri leaves, other than that the only other top job is us or Chelsea and he ain't going back there.

Bit of pressure maybe to see if we really are interested in him, if we're not then he's fecked really, as are we.

We'll not get Poch, no chance, even more so as Spurs will have top 4.

Conte would be an interesting one, but he doesn't seem to be on the radar.

Castle is a mouthpiece for Mendes. Id be interested if other papers go with it too.

But just indicates what a joke the club is and I feel it is time the fans made their feelings felt more. Woodward and co are ruining the club. Van Gaal should have gone after Stoke.

This we not like other clubs attitude needs to feck off.

Are we relying on Chelsea Twitter bollocks for our news now?
You absolute fecking muppets. Ffs.

If that's come from Mourinho's people then I imagine that it is trying to get United to get a move on and offer him the job.

They are making heaps of cash. That's what really counts.

What?
Why would he leave Spurs if they win the PL?

Exactly. It would be Poch's first ever trophy. He will milk it and want to at least try and build on it.
I can't see why Poch would leave Spurs, given that he is clearly enjoying his work there. It makes no sense.

In any case, we need an A-Lister, to battle it out with Guardiola and MCFC. Mourinho vs Guardiola will guarantee that MUFC get top billing on a World stage. The commercial value of Jose cannot be underestimated and MONEY is what drives EW.

All of you getting in a tizzle over rumours of an absolute cnut not joining your own club are an embarrassment to the sport.

No doubt you're enjoying United appointing one inept manager followed by another and lurching from one disappointment to another, enjoy it while it lasts.

It'll keep going if you appoint Mourinho (the disappointment part, he's not an inept manager of course).

What makes you think the one manager who's never failed in the first 2 seasons in any job will start doing so?

Can't afford to mess around for much longer. Get some kind of deal in place.

Jose has few options left.

PSG have just extended Blanc.

Madrid see Zidane as a long term option. Barca aren't changing and he has burnt his bridges there.

City have Pep, Liverpool Klopp, Arsenal Wenger, Chelsea ... well ...

Kinda leaves us or Juve / Inter if they decide to change bosses at the end of the season. Plus any team in China.

Also we are talking Manchester United with the most £'s it's ever had. Some people making it out to be least attractive job in football when truth is most managers would be licking their lips.

Liverpool fans are still bitter that he destroyed their title win two years ago. He's the reason the 25 year wait goes on

I'm sure this is Mendes trying to make us panic but knowing the way things are going if we did wait too long and miss out it would hardly be surprising. We all know Duncan Castles has a bit of an anti United agenda going on but as its back page of The Sunday Times it unfortunately probably has some substance.
