Would you be happy to see Jose Mourinho become next United manager?

Despite all the speculation about Jose (I'm ignoring The Sun), I really want him here by the way, it will just vex me to probably the most I have ever been if we keep this crazy and useless Dutch b@stard in charge. I'm at the point now where I would take a dream team of Ryan Giggs and his brothers wife over Louis and exchange Martial and 20m for Cameron Jerome just to make it happen.

I cant imagine that the state of our club is this dire.. But I like many others will have a meltdown if this Dutch bastard stays for his final year..

Anyone got the contact for that plane banner thing?

I am sure that United fans won't take this lying down.. Banners will be made and season tickets not renewed.. Next season will be dire and I think Ed knows this.

I think journalists know United fans are the most hysterical when it comes to rumours and are simply creating false stories surrounding the Mourinho saga. The Sun and Duncan Castles' story looks like bullshit to me. Castles hates United and loves to troll our fans on twitter so I would not be surprised if he's just doing this for the laughs. I still believe Mourinho is coming in at the end of the season.

Also it wasn't just paper talk re. Neymar. Neymar's father leaked a United bid recently, and that coincides with what Ed Woodward went to Barcelona for (we all thought it was re. Pedro)

I'm not defending Woodward...but in fairness, there is nothing wrong us trying to sign Neymar, Bale, Muller (or any other Galactico player).
Woodward wants our team to do well, so his job is to hire the best staff possible (which includes the best manager).
His problem is hanging on to LVG, for reasons I do not understand.

Of course there is a problem in wasting man hours on unattainable targets. You don't see Chelsea/City/PSG chiefs flying to Barcelona to sign Messi. Its just an unnecessary saga. Taking our persuit of Neymar alone - we didn't get him (obviously) and ended up being too late in signing Mane/Sane/whoever else we were in for.

I'm perfectly fine with Van Gaal for another year.

Mourinho's a twat.
Personally I'm not too bothered whether it's Mourinho (who, I agree, is a massive fecking bell, whatever way you look at it) or not, but I hope it's not LVG. He's been a failure and kidding ourselves that it's going to get better would be daft. Allowing the club to just drift under a guy who clearly isn't fit to carry out the job doesn't make sense to me. Particularly if we're doing so because we're frightened of the optics that go with sacking a manager.

So if Mourinho's coming in for the 2017/18 season, what does that mean for our signings this summer? Are we going to want to spend money on LVG's targets? If they're Mourinho's wishlist, will LVG want to use them?

Ridiculous. He's an utter cnut, besides being a shit, frustrating manager. I'm not completely for Mourinho but I'd take him over Van Gaal any day.

There is no chance Mourinho is going to leave it for a year.

Bingo.

I don't particularly care whether the manager is a twat, every non-United fan thought SAF was a twat too. I just want the best guy available and that definitely isn't LVG.

Indeed.
If the plan is to change managers after next season, then surely it will be Giggs...not Mourinho.
And I Mouinho (at his age), won't want to take a gap year.
It's wrong on so many levels.

Wish I could go back in time and show the 'Caf of a year ago this thread. Most everyone here slated Mou and said they'd never want him near their club and now most are desperate for him.

Will be even more amusing when he inevitably starts mouthing off in the media and starting fights on and off the pitch which made most here hate him but will now have everyone loving him.

Yeah, I don't think there's any truth to this, just looking at the hypothetical. We didn't let Moyes finish his contract, and he had much longer to go on his than LVG does.

The grass is always greener. Especially with the internet going football fan generation. New toys are more exciting than old ones. It was just the same in the Moyes > LVG transition.

A poll was on here the day you lot sacked him, more than half said they didn't want him. Now he is the messiah. I'm not fussed about him. He come, good...he doesn't come, good too.

What do you want us to be top 4 or great? I don't see nothing wrong in trying to be great!! Eventually it will pull off.. Trying to be ordinary even in the transfer market gets you Rojo and constant disgruntled fans. So give it a rest! Flying out for Neymar had nothing to do with whether we got Mane or not.

I don't really understand this view. From the reports it would seem that members of the board share this opinion as well, but for more it's just as bad as the whole 'we stand by our managers' false moral compass. I don't care if we're managed by an arsehole on a stick, as long as he wins us trophies. Sir Alex Ferguson wasn't exactly mother Theresa, but he won trophies. Other teams hated us, and I for one loved every minute of it. Sure, we could stick with Van Gaal (which is odd, since he's also a bit of a twat) but what will we win? We might have another shot at the FA cup, but not the league and certainly nothing in Europe. Mourinho is easily the best man for the job and the frustrating thing for many here is, he has been since December.
