According to reports, we've bunged José a shedload of money so he won't talk about the negotiations which have been sneakily designed to drive him away(!) Now that is scientific fact - there's no real evidence for it - but it is scientific fact.

lvg has more genes in common with crabs than he does with you and me.

The Sun story describes the request in the past tense, I.e. Utd asked him and he said no. It also says he feels closer than ever to being appointed.

Does it really say this?

Edit - so the Sun and Castles are trolling us with those headlines - maybe?

I know he hates us, but I can't see what he gains by saying this?

All I can say is, the club needs to come out now and say what the feck they are doing. This is ridiculous.

Anyway, I suggest putting your credit cards back in your pockets, or spending the money on a nice holiday somewhere. If everyone rushes out and buys the new kit and what not, the board will think, doesn't matter what we do, the fans will still put money in our bank accounts. Forget that shit.

Maybe he gets a hard on when people start retweeting his bullshit, feck knows. The Sun are running with the same line and it speaks volumes - they're never right.

As I already said - I wouldn't bother with anything Castles says about Manchester United. He's posted some laughable bullshit in the past and it's no wonder everyone laughs at his bald, ugly head and call him names.

The "media" are finding it hard to come up with new bullshit as they know people want to see Mourinho to United stories, but there isn't anything happening right now and that's why The Sun added the "But Mou wants the job now" to cover all bases just in case. The Telegraph, Guardian (and many more reliable sources) have been repeating a totally different thing about the subject and I'd rather believe them. There was a Ducker story on the Telegraph a few days ago, according to which Van Gaal's chances of staying beyond the summer are slim, regardless of the results between now and the end of the season. Just because it's negative news doesn't mean it's true and the Castles story doesn't even make any sense whatsoever.

Article also states

And the Portuguese now believes he is closer than at any stage to being confirmed as the next United boss — probably by the end of the month after Louis van Gaal has led his side into the FA Cup Final with Crystal Palace.

JOSE MOURINHO was asked by Manchester United bosses to wait a year for the Old Trafford hotseat.

But the Special One wants to be back in football this summer — six months after the sack at Chelsea.

Thr Sun reported a few days ago that all the terms were agreed and it was to be announced in a few weeks.
They have full millage out of this. It's a joke.

Ok you've calmed me down. I'll wait for confirmation then before I start my boycotting:D

Even Woodward isn't daft enough to ask Mourinho to hold out for a whole year ffs. The whole Mourinho thing is worse than the fecking transfer window now though. Can't wait till the seasons over so we get a definitive answer either way.

Yes, and we also wanted Mourinho to take a year to coach in the Chinese league while waiting a year.
Can't believe I read that.

Thanks Cassidy & Red Katie.

It's the Sun and ABU Castle, but if there is a shred of truth to this then these accountant clowns running us know feck all about the football side of things. They need to be removed from their job roles if this is true.

Asking one the the top managers of all time to take a gap year for an oaf like LvG . It's just too crazy to believe.

This. It's irritating as all hell.

Please stop.

Honestly if that news story is true. We deserve to miss out on top 4 and lose the Fa cup final. Most stupidly run team in world football.

If Mendes' old pal Castles is saying it there might be truth in it. What a bunch of fecking clowns we are run by

A very logical narrative is that we have decided to appoint Mourinho after the season ends, but will not declare so as it would destabilise our efforts to qualify for Champions League football and winning the FA cup. This narrative only works if the club do not confirm or deny any Mourinho rumours. If it transpires, in hindsight in a few weeks time, that this was the plan then I would congratulate the board for its decisiveness, strength and wisdom.

However if stories like asking Mourinho to wait 12 months so LVG can deliver some mythical masterplan, then I'll be utterly gob smacked that such a culturally significant institution like Manchester United Football Club can be run by such unskilled and indecisive people.

I still believe its the first scenario and that can only be proven after the FA cup final. And so I'll patiently wait till then before allowing any further emotions or energy of mine to this specific subject.

Not going to give that statement any credibility.

Somebody lock this fecking thread!!

Yeah, I clicked on that Sun story and read the article, so the bait worked, as it will do with countless other football fans. A sad state of affairs that the media has become so commercialised and so depend on wild rumour rather than fact to help sell their news.

Know feck all about how to treat a potential top employee that this organization needs, ship him off to China for a year. It just can't be true, no way.

The club made is clear when they sacked David Moyes that failure to qualify for the champions league you will be sacked.

Within the next week or two and the race for top four is over, the club have to take the same stance.

Failing to qualify for the champions league isn't even the worse offence LVG has committed. The boring football, the pathetic excuses, the outrageous claims over the last few weeks.. he needs to be sacked this summer for the sake of this clubs future.

I think it could be us trying to make it seem like we wanted to fulfill the 3 year plan but our hand was forced by Mourinho to terminate early. An odd strategy but this is the club that hired Moyes and didn't sack Van Gaal after 8 games without a win so it could be true
