well... even if it is giggs, i'll support him. i'll be livid with the board, i'll accuse them of gross incompetence (which is exactly what they'd display for discarding mourinho in favour of giggs), but at least i like giggs even if i don't think he'd make a good manager for us. i despise lvg at this point, so it's a small step in the right direction.

Word is United simply hope to collect top 4 money and coast along building a team on the cheap reminiscent to what Spurs have achieved. Woodward will get his wings clipped and Giggs may just get the gig, it appears that United wont be a threat again any time soon.

Given that we seem to be obsessed with the 4th place trophy, it wouldn't surprise me if this was true.
This Summer, we shall find out if MUFC genuinely want to return to the top or simply wish to plod along, targeting 4th place every year.

I didn't say PSG were bigger than United. You misunderstood. I meant if he doesn't go to United, I can't see him going to a smaller club outside of the likes of United, Madrid, Barcelona, Munich, PSG etc so he'll end up at PSG

Ah, sorry, a slight misunderstanding ;)

If Giggs does take over, the pressure on him will be immense.
Pressure which Moyes could not handle.
Pressure which LVG is sinking under.
How on Earth is Giggs (a complete newbie), going to handle that pressure?

I am still confident that Mourinho is going to join. It's a done deal, which is not being officially reported (for some reason).
If Jose does not join us, this will probably the most reported prediction (by the media, from different countries), which turns out to be fake/false.

The reason being we don't want to appear completely unprofessional and dickheadish like Man City and risk unsettling the team. We still have a couple of things to play for.

This guy does actually state in another post that he's not an ITK unlike BM favourite Tolmie's Hairdoo - make of that what you will!!

One day on Bluemoon they go on about the 300 billion pounds we've spent, the next how we are just simply trying to scrape by on the cheap. And if we don't appoint Mourinho it doesn't mean that we're obsessed with the 4th place trophy.

It definitely suggests it though

And the £300m we have spent on the squad suggests what? Not hiring Mourinho would indicate we don't want him at the club and there are plenty of reasons not to want him at the club (even though at this point I believe we should hire him)

Jesus Christ, quoting bollocks from the papers and going down the 'if this is true' route is bad enough, but Blue Moon? Get a grip.

Mourinho will be our next manager. The media just dont know shit atm.
This better not be a wind up. Went from feeling great with our win yesterday and now straight back down to earth with this news. Surely the club wouldn't do something so dumb? Dear Lord..

Edit - meant the news of no to Mourinho and Giggs being appointed.

Van Gaal's staying
Mournho's coming, it's all signed
Giggs is moving up
Pocchy is coming

Make this sh!T stop please!!!

The lack of movement around our managerial situation/Mourinho makes the media create all sorts of garbage to fill their pages. "There hasn't been anything in the last 7-8 days, we better come up with something".

So we don't want someone who will overshadow the club? Sorry that is ridiculous. Fergie was a massive personality andattracted his share of controversy everytime he opened his mouth. They would rather have someone with the personality of a wet fish, no experience that Pep etc will eat for breakfast?

ah Fergie.

Alex, "Moyesie's biggest challenge will be winning 3 titles in a row" Ferguson

Incredible. 3 years on still can't believe they thought a perennial midtable manager, who'd won jack sh!T, who'd had about 2 games in Europe, was in anyway a sensible option.
Especially coming a week or 2 after we said they had to have a back catalogue of trophy wins and European experience!

The press can't wait for Mourinho to be announced, as then they can run about 732 different stories on players we're after

Surely the failure to make top 4, coupled with the weight of negativity and disdain from the fans and press, will force Woody's hand.

Surely.

What's all this about Marca reporting now that the deal is off and we're looking to promote Giggs instead? This isn't surprising if true just very worrying, Woodward needs to pull his head out of his arse quickly and see sense. The club is in no position to take such a risk right now, hopefully the Spanish press are making stuff up again.

It's a rehash of gazetta story. Nothing more

The Mirror (I know ) are saying that Fergie and Sir Bobbys opposition to Mourinho has eased off and that they accept the need for change in the summer. Probably BS but be nice to see one or two of the proper newspapers run with it as well.

SausageGate in effect.

I just hope Woody was watching tonight. Because he needs to understand all the effort and work he put into making so much money commercially will be seriously affected by what is happening on the pitch. He has to pre-empt next season. Yes, Pep might take time to settle in, yes Klopp might not win the league next season, yes Pochettino might not push further than he has this season.......but they are on longer contracts than LVG. His contract is up at the end of next seasaon and by all accounts he would walk then. It would be ludicrous to start a new season with a manager that only wants to complete his contract which means one more season.....no player would be motivated by that. So...he either extends hims before the season starts...or sacks him and gets someone in on a three year contract.

Among the stupidest things a club has ever done. Generally clubs go full retard when they're struggling a bit (see Milan), and make insane decisions to make any shit stick. We were at the top, reigning league champions with so many top managers available that summer and we fecked it up then.

If Moyes hadn't been a fellow LMA member, I very much doubt SAF would've pushed for him.

If ever there was a manager with a point to prove ( though personally I don't think he does) then it is Mourinhio, I'm pretty sure he puts that type of pressure upon himself, he knows the size of the task at hand at United, and he is more than qualified to succeed.

We are at the point of no return, one path leads to years in the wilderness, bit dramatic I know, but what I mean is that it could be years without another title, if we choose the path of a yes man too our board of directors. We could go down the Mourinhio path, that will most probably bring success and won't be dull either.

I think Jose has been after a club like ours, the chairman won't be in his ear, he will have run of the place , and he's already stated he wants to lay down roots, to all those that see that type of thing as a pre requisite, that should make them happy. We can't miss out on him again surely.

Always respected The Mirror :nervous:

Absolutely. All this fecking about will cost us big time. It's so hard to get to the top but you're guaranteed a rapid descent if you make foolish decisions.
