He seriously doesn't. Those wins were nice, but they are the very, very minimum. We should still be in the CL, we should be challenging for the title, nevermind the top 4. He has messed up big time and is now trying to brainwash everyone into thinking he has done well.

Ageing senile dinosaurs like VG will convince themselves and others it's a disgrace how anyone should speculate his failed job, he gets a couple of wins and he is amazing. Like how Barcelona and Bayern became the successful clubs they are since they sacked VG, but frauds like VG will tell everyone I put the foundations in place at both clubs, when it was the way both clubs are run is how they became successful, instead of hacks like VG saying it was him that was behind the success of both clubs

I am certainly crazy now, but I would let LVG and Giggs, and see all these young lads develop one more year with the Herrera, Mata, Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger, Smalling, De Gea or Martial. When I see the Rashbord, CBJ, Lindgard, Varela, and maybe Januaz, I don't know, I want to see them go through and succeed. I think it could be happening... I must be crazy.
Its a risk not worth taking, we are falling even more behind. Not just behind Europe's elite, but we arent even a force domestically either.

Van Gaal is simply not good enough. He's tried his best, more time wont change anything.

I dont want to come across as perssimistic , but Van Gaal here or not, I expect most of those young players not to make it here. Look at last's young batch. Once the injuries ease up, we will turn to the senior players.

The fact that a second season of no UCL means a 20m drop in the Adidas means that this will also be a financial decision.

I dont think we will make such a decision, neither would I really support it.

Only thing that is a scandal is how he is still in a united job, the guy is so deluded he thinks beating some minows means he is doing an excellent job, and no one should question his wisdom, ah yes out of the title race, out of the CL and probably out of the top 4
Thing is he has convinced the players into thinking it is an ok standard as well. I am sure that during these long team meetings he is actually brainwashing the players. What Barcelona allegedly did, except no blood involved and no success.

I treat Van Gaal's comments the same way I did Moyes. A man under pressure trying to save his own skin.

Its no use getting angry over them.

Exactly

Great managers will see, wait? this is not working we need to work harder and push on, no winning mentality, you get nothing in return. What makes me laugh with VG, he picks fights with the press when he is a complete laughing stock, back it up with success before thinking he is right, and the press is wrong

It does piss me off, because he is using his last 2 victory's has almost a complete turn around, the fact he is fighting the press calling it a disgrace how his job is in question, when his teams are so beatable its almost midtable to bottom half form, its david moyes united form and that should see him sacked. Throwing random youngsters almost makes him a genius by some fans in the aggression how he cut the squad, when the squad he put together was so injury prone its a farce when he knew this would happen

Hang on, now: He thinks what is an absolute scandal?

That the press are speculating about his future? That many of them consider Maureen to be his successor? What, with Maureen himself doing nothing to rubbish this – and United themselves not saying a word either way? Yeah – I mean, that's low, even for the gutter press.

His grandkids will be crying tonight.

It is a scandal if Woody went behind his back to speak with Jose. While assuring him of his job all this While.

Is that what he's saying? Looks to me as though he thinks he and the club are on the same side - I didn't get the impression he's considers Woody going behind his back a possibility: The scandal is the speculation, not the possibly real shenanigans.

My impression, at least. Could be wrong, of course. But if he thinks there's a chance of United fecking him over in any way here, he certainly expresses it oddly enough - even for him.

Yep, I agree. Clear from reading the quotes but some'll get outraged anyway.

It's unbelievable that this fraud genuinely thinks it's 'scandalous' that people are reporting speculation on him being replaced next season.

He clearly thinks he's doing just fine and he's obviously been told that he's got the job for next year too, so it seems that United think he's doing alright too (which suggests that our goal these days will continue to be a top four challenge). It's all quite depressing.

If LVG was Robb Stark he would be thanking Roose Bolton and Walder Frey for the red wedding because he won't go hungry ever again. Jeez he is truly deluded to think that the club is not making plans to have him out of the club if he fails to make it to the CL qualification next season

LVG has not said anything outrageous here. People going apeshit over everything he says in becoming tiresome here.

Is it feck a scandal, it's how the world works

Na. Assuming any of this shit is true. It just indicates where Woody's loyalty lies. Woody has had more than a handful of opportunities to sack him, instead we are stuck with speculations of a power struggle in the boardroom.

What else do you expect him to do? Not defend himself?

I think most of us expect him to win football matches and have very talented, expensive football players play good football.

If he's not doing that, personally, I expect him to keep his mouth shut when he gets stick off the fans and press.

Woody's loyalty lies with the club, not LVG ffs.

It's not as easy to sack him as people think, and that's from someone who wants him gone asap. Who steps in? Giggs apparently doesn't want to do another interim job and it's more than likely Mourinho can't work in England this season.

Speculation is what the media do, it's not Woody job to dismiss every bullshit article.

He can defend himself any way he wants to, as far as I'm concerned, but he can't pretend it's a scandal when journos are speculating about his future given how this season has played out. That isn't defending yourself, it's either delusional or blatantly disingenuous.

oh ffs. You have misunderstood my pov on the whole issue. Couldn't care less about media speculation.

Agree with everything you said. It's a pointless discussion anyways. He has to react to the issue in one way or another. Can't believe it took so long to get a quote from him ever since the "happy he's going to Manchester" news broke.

Exactly this. He's being delusional. What did he expect? When you don't win over 50% of your last 25/26 league games and crash out of the Champions League in not-particularly-death-group, play the tumescent style of football we have been playing for almost two seasons, creating such meagre amount of chances and he finds it scandalous that the higher ups are looking for a replacement? Especially a replacement who has an interest in joining and is a proven winner and one of the most decorated managers in football? Come on.

You're like LvG lad. Make yourself clear or you will get misunderstood.:)

I've been pretty clear on the issue. Contacting Jose back in December, gentleman's agreement, boardroom battle, he's going to Manchester, fans don't want giggsy, media spin, all of these ingredients add up to a great shitshow in the making.

When you put it like that.

Being 6th place in the league table, as we currently are, is also tiresome.

Listening to VG is like listening to donald trump, it should start to get funnier, but some how he just pisses you off in new ways

At least Louis doesn't want to bang his daughter.

It's of a piece with his ridiculous remark that he could've slept with Princess Diana if it wasn't for, y'know, the fact that she didn't want to sleep with him.

I don't think it matters what he says... You know there's something wrong when guys like this can say the sorts of things he does and still be in the running to be one of the most powerful people in the world

This thread is going off at a tangent Steve. From Jose to Trumps sexual deviations.

Wasn't a scandal when he and Woodward were in contact while Moyes was still manager
