So with Van Gaal now completely undermined for the rest of the season, are we going to make this happen post haste rather than risking our top 4 status?
My thoughts too. The timing is the only thing that's wrong about this.So with Van Gaal now completely undermined for the rest of the season, are we going to make this happen post haste rather than risking our top 4 status?
Yeah its great. Next season we will have some pretty intense rivalries again...Mourinho and United vs Liverpool, Mourinho vs Guardiola, Mourinho vs Wenger, Mourinho vs Chelsea. Exciting
Mourinho vs the World, basically.
He's a contentious individualMourinho vs the World, basically.
Mourinho, Klopp, Pep, Wenger and whoever Chelsea get. Some solid entertainment there.
I have said in this thread that while I'm not happy I will accept him as manager if it happens.
Mourinho vs the World, basically.
I'm thirstyYou had me until me until Moyes. C'mon man that was like pissing into the wind with your mouth open. Eventually you had to close it because you knew you were just drinking piss. I don't want to drink piss again.
Mourinho already basically hates all of United's rivals and title challengers apart from Chelsea so it's pretty much a perfect job for him. A club with money to spend, has the "big club status", he can be the one to bring us back to the top as it always seemed like it had to be, and a club where the board doesn't really intervene in the football side of things (so much so that many would probably want them to be more decisive on things like sackings).Yeah its great. Can you even imagine the hate they would have for us, there isnt a measurement invented for it. Jose Mourinho is the manager of Manchester UnitedYeah its great. I assume we either hire Mourinho or Giggs but Giggs don't want to be Jose's assistantIm no native English speaker but am I the only one to find these two sentences contradicting?

would you want Giggs around knowing he wants your job?I assume we either hire Mourinho or Giggs but Giggs don't want to be Jose's assistant
Was thinking the same thing.Would almost want Chelsea to get Simeone, purely for entertainment purposes.
You're gonna miss his little blog aren't you?
It would start looking a bit bizarre if he stays as number 2 again. Moyes, LVG, Mourinho....you can't be number 2 forever like Gill saidwould you want Giggs around knowing he wants your job?
Holy shit yeh.Yeah its great. Next season we will have some pretty intense rivalries again...Mourinho and United vs Liverpool, Mourinho vs Guardiola, Mourinho vs Wenger, Mourinho vs Chelsea. Exciting
Worst mistake we will ever make.
Not an opinion just what the BBC wrote.would you want Giggs around knowing he wants your job?
Thanks.Mata is the obvious one, though he might not be sold right away because a general lack of quality and depth in the attack. Lingard probably won't play much either but he's pretty average anyways so no big deal there. Think he'd go for a center back and quality in attack mainly, possibly a midfielder as well. Lineup wise it'll probably be kind of similar to what Van Gaal picks, just with Blind rotating with Shaw at left back and an actual center back next to Smalling. Schneiderlin/Schweinsteiger/Herrera all seem exactly like the type he would like, and he's always liked Rooney and was interested in Martial last summer so those 2 will probably still have important roles. Not sure what he'd do with Memphis. Possibly keep him as a squad option and give him a chance, as he can be a very effective player like Mou likes, but then again, he could just send him out on loan or something. Januzaj needs to show he has it in him to be a top talent again, otherwise I fear for his future regardless of who is in charge. Pereira seems like an Oscar type player, and Mourinho loved Oscar. Darmian and Shaw are already basically Mourinho type right backs, being very defensively solid.
In terms of incomings, he was interested in Griezmann and Stones for Chelsea for a while, and both would be perfect signings for us, so those could be potential targets. No idea who else though. Maybe Ibrahimovic in as his contract I think is out in the summer, to be a stop gap? Pretty sure he had a good relationship with Mourinho.
Holy shit yeh.
Tell you what I'd relish being the most hated club again. United vs Liverpool doesn't need much encouragement to get heated but throw in Mourinho..
Similar situation with City, the renewal of a Mourinho vs Guardiola rivalry in the same city has the potential to be epic entertainment.
It'd be great to reclaim our mental dominance over Arsenal again, no one better for getting one over Wenger.
And of course the Chelsea games will be some atmosphere as well.
If we're winning whilst it's all kicking off I'm gunna be stoked.
Not to mention the potential fireworks if we face Real or Barca in the CL. Amazing to think one guy could instantly make us one of the most hated teams in Europe....
What's the appeal? I genuinely don't understand why anyone would want to be a supporter of the most hated club.Tell you what I'd relish being the most hated club again.

Di Marzio joining in now saying it's very possible that it'll happen and we're talking. Also I saw that apparently United refused to comment on the rumours which is as good as admitting it's true.
Yeah but many outlets abroad seem to think it is close.Analysis

Before the red carpet is rolled out to welcome Manchester United's new manager, a word of warning.
Talks should not be interpreted as an agreement, as an offer, or even the promise of one. None of that has happened.
Neither should we assume Ryan Giggs is out of the running, nor that the merits of Laurent Blanc and Mauricio Pochettino, the two other realistic candidates for the job, have been discarded.
The fact is, given the pressure Louis van Gaal has been under recently, United's hierarchy simply would not be doing their jobs properly if they did not at least get some idea of the thinking behind the major candidates.
