If we do go for Mourinho, the football world will be looking at Manchester and the rivalry between us and also Guardiola and Mourinho. Mourinho will be painted as the villain and Pep the saint or in other words city will be the goodies and we will be the baddies.

Too long have MUFC not embraced the hate, its what has made us into a laughing stock, its time we start rattling a few cages because rivals have not hated our past 2 managers, we have and that has got to start changing

Who cares about that?

Well, people love to hate us.

Good. It was ace when everyone hated us. It was because we were constantly a threat. Now we're the most inoffensive club in the league. We're practically Roy Hodgson's Fulham.

Good. Bring on the ABUs.

We've been THE villain for decades, it's nothing new. Look at the salivating over our downfall.

They're all hoping the death star isn't going to be rebuilt.

Just read some tweets saying that today's comments we a joke on Bedy Morattis part. Plus apparently Chelsea have started to rebuild bridges with Mourinho with a view to him eventually returning.

More chance of Rooney scoring sixteen hat tricks in fifteen minutes.

Fabregas etc will love that.

No. They said he'd be welcomed back. Doesn't mean he'd go back as manager.

This club is in real trouble.

One of the most successful managers of the last 15 years who has actually won our league 3 times, or a guy with 4 games on his CV? Only we could even consider that a choice let alone ponder the outcome.

Anyone who thinks that Giggs can take over one of the biggest clubs in the world with one year of apprentiship under the tutelidge of one of the most outdated and backwards thinking managers in the modern game really needs their fecking head tested.

Forget about Giggs. Maybe in a few years time after he's gone away and managed a few clubs, he can come back and give it a go, but not before.

I will take Steve Bruce, Ole Solskaer, Mark Hughes, Rene Mulenstene, Gary Neville...hell.. even Steve McClaren above Giggs at the moment.

Mourinho is the lesser copy of Fergie, but as close to him as you can get now. Winning at all costs.

Mourinho is nothing like Fergie other than being stubborn to the n'th degree. Fergie loved taking a risk or two more than he ought to. Mourinho is quite conservative in everything from his transfers to his style of play, he hates the unknown.

Stubborn, arrogant, patriarchal, likes to hold grudges, determined to win, universally hated/respected.

The methods are different, but in temperament and character there are a lot of similarities.

The main reason I don't believe in the Giggs to manage us feeds is the simple fact we could have/could still put him in charge now or any time we'd like, yet we haven't. Whereas it appears Mourinho is waiting until the summer to come in for a fresh start and... surprise, surprise it looks as if we're waiting on making a final decision to.

I admitted to Fergie's stubbornness but lets see:

1. Arrogance, determination to win and success can be attributed to any top level manager, player or professional. Pep has it, Jose has it, Van Gaal has it, Wenger has it and hell even Big Sam has his own brand of arrogance.

2. Fergie if not loved, was universally respected by top level players, clubs and football people, Mourinho on the other side would be thrown in the sewer in places like Barcelona. People at Bayern think of him as a buffoon in expensive clothes.

3. Mourinho might seem he is patriarchal but every team except Inter had tuned him out sooner than later, he lacks the charisma or ability to captivate a club or a group of players for the 25+ years the way Fergie was able to do. Mourinho by nature is a curlish person with his own inferiority complex that wakes up everyday holding everyone but himself to contempt. People like him cannot succeed the way Ferguson does in the longer term. He is a great short term solution if he's not been tactically solved yet.

Just got caught up on all this stuff. I assume it is true? See no reason as to why it wouldn't be anyway. Would still like to get rid of LVG now but I guess if we have to wait until the summer for Mourinho then I could handle it. Could be a negative for the players though. They'll go even further in not playing for the manager and our league position will keep sliding.

I don't think so. If Jose is coming in the summer, it would behoove the club to announce it early as it would give the current players something to look forward to for next season knowing if they get CL place Jose will be their manager.

All the foreign media are pretty calm, assured and consistant with their Mourinho stories.
Meanwhile The Sun and Mirror go from United desperate for Jose to not being sure who we want. All within 24 hrs ffs.
Create a narrative. A fresh take to keep this going. Also this way if Jose is hired then the media werent wrong. They were reporting on a choice. They just choose Jose.
Its unbelievable these people have credibility on here.
3-4 years ago, whenever a Sun or Mirror article got posted on here, the poster would have got hounded mercilessly.

Today articles from the Sun and Mirror get passed off as fact :wenger: It's not just the club's standards that have fallen

Foreign media were what reported all our transfer stories over the summer before English media even got a whiff so listening to the Sun or the Mirror is always strange to see.

I wake up seeing that disgusting article in the Mirror and am totally depressed. I hope it's made up shit. But if a Giggs supporter is leaking this shit, I despair. Most worrying is the bit at the end of the article saying Ryan would need assurances if he were to go into a third stint as ass manager - are you fecking kidding me?

Are we just going to shove him on to every new manager's staff? How stupid is that? Is that what the hold up is about? I doubt Jose or anyone else will put up with that kind of shit. What are Giggs' supporters afraid of? Send him out to do his thing and prove himself. Why can't he leave the club? Is he so much of a coward? Or does he and his supporters know deep down that he's totally unsuitable and only through political means can they get him the job?

Finally, where are the fecking Glazers?! It's their club - make a decision and send Ryan on his way if he's stopping us from progressing. I swear the fans need to let the club know exactly what they think of this because Ryan doesn't seem to get how many fans are opposed to him getting the job at this point in time.

Went to sleep thinking Mourinho was all but done and now wake up to a nightmare that Giggs might get the job!!!!!!!

If Giggs is appointed then I'm done..

Just unthinkable. Giggs has been part of both the Moyes and LVG disasters and yet somehow this qualifies him for the job, it should get him the sack not a bloody promotion. How there is any support for this at the club is just beyond me. If it happens I would imagine a huge reduction in season tickets being renewed.

Hopefully its bollocks but my gut feeling says this is exactly what our club would do.
