BBC Impartiality

Without dialogue nothing will get sorted and your poster seems to push division by grouping people into tolerant or intolerant and basically saying you shouldn't tolerate the side you disagree with? What does that achieve? In Russia and Ukraines case, war.

I wasn't sure before, but now I know you're wumming. At least I hope so for your sake.

Invoking Russia and Ukraine over a forum spat.

have to say that it does make you proud to be a fan of the working man's game. Great to see the wider football community all coming together in Solidarity.

In a thread about impartiality. Are you going to correct the record on the two false allegations below?

Or do I just have to accept you pedalling @Redlambs false claims (who didn't even contribute to the topic of the thread prior to this) because I simply reminded some posters that they shouldn't be telling people to feck off or personally abusing others in the Current events forum.

I did contribute to the topic, I gave your friend a fairly long thought out post.

Why you keep ignoring that whilst blaming me for what happened is very odd. Especially, again, you said you love to go on a wind up.

Well you've successfully wound someone up, that much is true.

Now kindly stop tagging me, I've no interest in your whining nor your claims of your relationship with that account and why you were so keen to defend it.

This is what you get when you give people jobs like running the BBC because he lent you money.

Incompetent people fecking things up.

Absolutely bananas of them, so stupid that you’d almost have to consider it deliberate self destruction.
It’s not as sinister as that. The corporation is headed up by a collection of libertarian man babies who are absolutely convinced that their own opinions are all that really matters. They will be blaming this outrage across the country on a minority of lefties kicking up a fuss.

Oh yeah, I don’t actually think it’s an act of self destruction, just that the backlash was so obvious it’s beyond idiotic.
Clearly the issue is that tories have gotten away with so much over the past decade, and especially the past 5 years, they feel invincible.

Does Gary have a few of these people living in his swanky home, or within close quaters to his million pound mansion by any chance?

He can feck off then.
Funnily enough he has housed refugees. So yes he does have a few in his swanky home.
In his own home has he mate?
Yep in his actual own home.
Pics of blu-tac or it didn't happen.

I want pics of bearded men holding blu-tac, not the people near me who are following young women about. Robbing peoples washing lines and such strife.
That doesn't help mate. While I disagree with Mics view, he should be allowed to make it without being insulted.
Maybe. And sometimes you need to just tell them to feck off and not humour them. He often pops up in such threads, posts shite, and then leaves without really engaging. It's pointless to even respond.

As for the asylum issues going on, I agree it needs addressed. But it's the tories sitting on their hands not processing the claims and it's the tories which are then throwing them into hotels near people like yourself so they don't fill the communities of their wealthy backers in posher areas.

This plan by them was never going to be legal and the home security said there's more chance of it not being legal herself.

As for the comparisons to language of the nazis, I agree with it myself but happy to accept if you think otherwise.

With the above said. I don't think Gary Linekar is opposed to the asylum issues getting fixed. His issue is more with how the tories talk about them.

Fun Faxt: In 2021 72% of asylum claims were accepted in this country by the tories. The most since the tory party accepted 82% in the 90s. If they were all criminals like they say.. Why are they accepting 72% of the claims.

It's basically just a load of shit they're talking to try and start a culture war and blame others for the problems they made. Pretty sure you're from Liverpool Mic? So you should know as well as anyone about the lengths tories will go to to lie and avoid accountability.

Anyway I respect you may feel otherwise and we can agree to disagree if so.
The annoying thing with this forum is its a bit of a political echo chamber at times. I'm a member of a few others where we have left and right wing posters and the debate is healthy and enjoyable.

Sorry I guess I'm just trying to be diplomatic and it's quite nice to get an opposing view in too providing debate can be healthy.
I get that, but that particular poster never really gives proper debate.
I'm not from Liverpool mate. My family are from Middleton, Manchester. Though I live just on the outskirts.

Interesting read. Though in Essex or wherever the feck Lineker lives these days, would he be opposed to all the hotels dedicated to sheltering asylum seekers in his local vicinity?
My bad mate. Must be thinking of lenny or Limehouse.

I think he would be but I don't know for sure. It costs us 7 million a day and only something like 5% of claims in the past year have been processed.

If the government did their job and processed them in a timely manner then they would t be crowded into hotels.

In my opinion the problem is self inflicted and has been allowed to get this bad so they can use it as a tactic to gain support by playing on a man made problem.

Here is a very good explanation by Kenneth Clarke who is a former tory mp and a right wing gentleman. I think he explains it quite well despite being at opposite ends of the political spectrum from me:

Deleted post from @Berbasbullet in here as he realised personally abusing people is not productive.
Mate this doesn't help. I know I act the pillock in general but threads in here are meant to be serious. Personal insults do not help
I'm sorry, I generally agree with this and think it's important to engage people but this is clearly a a poster who has literally no intention to discuss in good faith.

Its just stupidity , culminating in quasi racist comments.
Am eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. The only way to find solutions and compromise is through honest civil discussion. We need more of it rather than pety insults we see today in politics.
@ThehatchetMan, this isn't the place to do the wumming thing, and in any case your friend can't reply now.

So come on @Penna @Redlambs @DOTA

Its all out in the open there. Show me exactly where I am defending Mic Fins opinions please. And show me exactly where he is my friend.

The difference between me and the others is I actually had a far more sensible debate with mic than most of you. It's nearly as if... If you don't talk down to people like shit then they actually may become a bit more engaging and receptive to your ideas.

Anyway you continue to be a patronising, pompous, condescending forum troll if you wish.

I'll continue to fight for what I believe in and actually trying to engage with those with opposing views and trying to influence and change opinions. You continue abusing and oppressing them bud. That's always worked in history.

I wonder what you think the end result is going to be from constantly calling out a mod. Any other modmin would have binned you already, but @Penna is the nice one. But she has her limits.

The entire system is filled with cronyism and everything from the armed forces to the civil service is controlled by people who went to the same schools. There is no constitution, there are no rules, just an informal nod and a wink that keeps everyone in check. But this iteration of the tory party, egged on by Cummings, is just more brazen about its contempt for the facade of magnanimity. He, rightly (if that's the word?) understood that, if you didn't resign out of 'a sense of duty' or 'fair play ', there wasn't any mechanism in place to depose you. Hence we had a PM in Johnson who almost had to be dragged out of office kicking and screaming. The people at the top of the BBC have always been cut from the same cloth but were the 'old school' types who saw themselves as benevolent and valued the illusion of impartiality.

It's like the history of any royal family you can think of: on one extreme, you have benevolent despots who try to improve the lot of their subjects; on the other, you have the lunatics who are ruthless and horrible and couldn't care less about their people. We've just got those ones right now.

Have they cancelled it? I was going to watch to see what a shite show it was but I can't find it.
Don't think so yet. Alex Scott is the only one who pulled out last time I read but you never know. I imagine it will still air though.

Can threadstarters be threadbanned?

I was about to ask that question.

@ThehatchetMan don't goad the mods, it never ends well.

What you're missing here is that admitting to wumming is enough to get you a warning, if not a ban, so your comment about winding up right wingers was very close to the wind.

If @Penna gives you a gentle warning, the best thing to do is accept it and count yourself lucky. Don't bother with the quotes again, you're de-railing your own thread. (Too late ffs  )

No one cares, you're not that interesting

I've not admitted to "wumming" a single person in his thread. Redlambs is taking posts out of context to suit his narrative he is trying to paint of me.

All I want is an apology for 2 false allegations.

Fundamentally this is exactly the issue with the world right now and particularly this exact topic.

Rather than people hold their hands up, swallow their pride, and say "you know what I was wrong there", they'd rather double down on their fake claims to save face.

Ex-Arsenal and Lionesses captain Alex Scott has pulled out of presenting the Football Focus programme in solidarity with Mr Lineker. The programme was subsequently withdrawn from Saturday's BBC1 schedule.

They have taken it off the air

Can people please stop polluting the thread with off topic stuff about the BBC and such. We need to focus on the real story - Hatchetman's valiant quest for justice.

Final Score replaced with a rerun of The Repair Shop... ironic

It won’t air, you get to watch Bargain Hunt instead today

Final Score looks also set to be cut from today’s schedule.

What a massive miscalculation.
As mumford and sons would say

"you've really fecked it up this time."

Their whole plan of trying to do this at the end of the working week has blown up in their face.

Not sure how the BBC think they can recover from this now. A long road back ahead.

Funnily enough they've probably proved that Gary Lineker can say whatever the feck he likes and they have to suck it up. Theres no route ahead without a climb down on their part.

Final Score now also confirmed as gone.

Instead of footy today, you're getting Bargain Hunt and "The Repair Show".... that should get the working class public back on side

Ian Wright has now also directly spoken out against the Government's policy. You gonna cancel him too BBC?

It's a complete and utter shite show. If everyone else had gone in today they were agreeing that they would give up their own right to free speech. This was never going to happen.

I'm surprised they are putting bargain hunt on and not just live streaming north Korean news channel in that slot instead to get the nation use to bbc being a government run propaganda tool going forward

Why do you keep mentioning me? I responded with YOUR EXACT WORDS once to a post.

And you and your friend found out the hard way what happens when you wum in a serious thread. But I'm not going to stop you, you carry on doing it all you want. That's the sad thing about self confessed wind-up merchants, you lot always end up the ones wound up enough to get kicked.

It isn't working, move on.

Don't you worry, people like that can't stop themselves
