BBC Impartiality

Radio 5 live....currently playing old sports interviews....for a 7 hour stretch...thrilling content!
I bet there will be many anti "woke" people sitting through it and pretending they enjoy it as a demonstration against what they believe are so called virtue signalling presenters like Gary linekar

I wonder what you think the end result is going to be from constantly calling out a mod. Any other modmin would have binned you already, but @Penna is the nice one. But she has her limits.
I do. And I'm getting very close to them!

Mate Penna can do whatever she likes.

She said mic fin is my friend. She said I was wumming in the thread.

Both false. Both incorrect. Both fabricated through a narrative taken out of context by redlambs which I've corrected him on multiple times and he still pedals.

If she wants to ban me for saying people shouldn't be reducing themselves to personal insults or telling people to feck off in a serious current events thread then she is more than welcome to.

Sometimes it's easier to double down when you're wrong than hold your hands up and admit "you know what I didn't read the thread and I jumped to conclusions. Having read it back, I'm sorry for making said assumptions and accusing you of stuff you weren't and weren't doing."

Its quite ironic though it's happening in a thread about being impartial whereby the BBC have doubled down on their impartiality and not admitted their mistakes.

If saying sorry for being wrong is too challenging then fire ahead and ban me for not fitting the narrative you've tried to portray.

I stand by my views that serious discussions shouldn't include pety insults and that the only way to find compromise and solutions is through dialogue rather than silencing or insulting people with opposing views, regardless of how much we may not agree with them. I'm a pacafist and I believe in trying to find solutions through discussion. The government love to shake a jar and create division, its up to us as citizens in the UK to decide whether we want to play their games or if we want to try and change the narrative and demonstrate to those with opposing views why they're incorrect. That is how you see progression in the world of politics. But if you just insult people or tell them to feck off, then guess what, they're not going to be receptive.

Gary Neville probably super jealous of Linekar right now. He’s been on his soap box for 2 years now and no one gives a shit. Linekar with one tweet is currently destroying BBC and getting solidarity across sports media far and wide.

There's something I don't get and I hope you people from England can help me understand: BBC football shows' target audience are probably guys on their 40s and 50s (as younger guys were just born into YouTube). These people were children and teenagers in the mid-to-late 80s, and probably still remember Lineker's exhibitions against Poland, Paraguay and Cameroon in the WC as some of the best memories of their childhood. Particularly in a time when they were struggling under Thatcher's reforms. Isn't a move like this directly antagonizing them and at the same time putting some light to the similarities between now and then, right before an election? I don't know, the more I think of their decision the more idiotic it looks.

Sky are loving this because they allow people like Neville to have an opinion.

@ThehatchetMan, my last word on this - I was responding to your own comment that you like to wind people up on matters of politics. I said it's not wise to do that in the CE forum. I wasn't accusing you of anything here.

The banned poster was someone you said you'd interacted with before, hence my use of the word "friend". I wasn't suggesting you were best mates.

Stop tagging people and let it drop, it's embarrassing.

Bit slow on getting the HYS up today for the liverpool game :D
or they're stopping them for now after the way the Stoke/Blackburn one went.

Err...Penna warned you BEFORE my post and all I did was correctly quote you before that. Our interactions before that consisted of you ignoring the fact that I wasn't one of those being rude to your mate, I attempted to engage him. Interestingly he ignored that, just like you have continued to do.

But anyway, as I said, you people always wind yourselves up more and typically you can't let it go.

Maybe you should go back to trolling those other forums? Seems healthier for your stress levels if you go argue in a place where you are allowed to and can actually accomplish the wind up.

Edit: And this is the last time I'm responding to you in here. It's frankly boring and out of place. All the best!

I think they'll walk this back and reinstate him. Contractually I do not think he has done anything wrong, and it's created a gigantic mess that they must not have seen coming.

I don't think that fixes the problem though, the issue isn't so much what he said but the fact that the BBC appear tioed to Tory party policy in their staff moderation. Putting him back with a weasel-word statement doesn't alter the fact. I expect the DG will go, Lineker will be offered to come back and refuse, and the BBC will make a mealy-mouthed statement about learning to be better.

Thank you for clearing that up.

I'm not embarrassed by it either because I feel passionately about politics and won't have my character defaminated.

I've had a warning on here before for saying "feck off you tory cnut" which was wrong and I've learned from it. I'll continue to stand by my views that insulting others and telling them to feck off isn't progressive despite how embarrassing it may make me appear.

Thank you for your reply. We can move on now.

I'm not sure how this will play out, but don't think it will be like that. Offering up the Tory stooge DG won't appease anyone, given a new one will just replace him. I reckon odds are on Lineker not returning too.

Either I've been on the sherry (I have) or we are basically saying the same thing!
:lol:I totally misread what you said. It's late here in my defence.

This is my suspicion. Unless they can get Lineker to publicly promise he'll be a good boy on twitter I don't see how you can bring him back without conceding more ground than is compatible with their plan to 'remove the lefty bias at the beeb'.

Of course it doesn't solve any overall issues with the BBC, but it solves the BBC's most currently pressing problem (for them, not for its audience). Say they've made a mistake, let him come back and it more or less goes away for them. Assuming he would return, which may not be the case.

You continue to say "mate" despite me correcting you on this 4 times now in the last 18 hours. Because you want to create a false narrative.

You continue to say I troll other politics threads on other forums because of a tongue in check comment I've explained and corrected you on twice while offering to give you the details of my account to make your own judgement. Because you want to create a false narrative.

You continue to patronise, belittle and condescend with comments such as the below from this post alone (although each usually continues 3 or more similar distasteful subtle jibes):

"you wind yourself up more and typically you can't let go"
"maybe you should go back to trolling other forums"
"seems healthier for your stress levels if you go argue in a place where you are allowed to and can actually accomplish the wind up."

And you continually contridict yourself in trying to act pompous and smug too. Back turning on yourself by referencing" trolling other forums" as if that's what you meant all along.

But then in a desperate attempt to once again throw more pathetic personal insults you finish up with saying I should "troll other forums where I may achieve the wind up" once again insinuating I'm on some sort of wind up again here.

The discussion never involved in. You just... Wanted an argument and 90% of your posts in this thread.... Have been arguing.

You've personally insulted me or lied about me, after me correcting you, at least 10 or 15 times. You can continue to keep that up if you want and have others call me embarrassing. But I'm not going to stand around here and let you bully me, insult me or lie about me. And if that makes me embarrassing or pathetic then so be it.

Oh my god, shut the feck up!

I think someone is after the drama award this year.

No chance I'm reading all that, it's likely complete nonsense. Funny though that I was one of the only ones not to insult his friend and yet I'm the big bad

But back on topic, I'm not watching match of the day tonight (usually do on iPlayer) and probably won't again. I fully expect others to though, I think the ratings will soar tonight. It's the longer term effect that matters more though.

Then again, would you want to speak to this man?

Since the 2019 election, this Government has:

- politicised the Electoral Commission
- politicised the BBC
- disenfranchised 5 million people
- given full civil and criminal immunity to covert police and intelligence service sources
- made it lawful to render someone stateless by stripping them of British citizenship
- made it lawful to remove someone's citizenship without telling them and if a Minister thinks they have committed "unacceptable behaviour"
- committed mass fraud during the pandemic
- wasted 37 billion on test and trace
- removed all legal routes for someone to claim asylum or refugee status
- promised that if someone arrives here illegally and is trafficked or made a slave the state will not help them
- blew up the economy with a budget announcement alone
- oversee a cost of living crisis and refuse to take the steps other European countries have with fuel bills
- tell people it is their fault for being poor
- tell hungry people to go eat turnips
- Brexit... my god Brexit...

But imagine how much worse it would be under Labour!

And that's only chapter 1.

- Dominic Cummings Scandal
- Pincher by name Pincher by nature
- Partygate
- Patel guilty of bullying
- Raab under investigation for bullying
- The tax dodging chancellor
- The tax dodging non dom wife
- The PM who keeps promising to release his taxes but hasn't yet done so or confirmed if he will release his USA taxes.
- The school meals for kids scandal.
- The Hancock texts
- The dodgy undocumented meetings with Russians
- The election of Russians to the lords
- The Russian donations
- Cameron and his greensil lobbying
- 30p Lee and his fake election videos with mates
- Had a MP found guilty of being a pedo that Boris refused to criticise

And I could probably add another 3 or 4 chapters on.

It's an absolute disgrace.
