I'm sorry, I generally agree with this and think it's important to engage people but this is clearly a a poster who has literally no intention to discuss in good faith.

Am eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. The only way to find solutions and compromise is through honest civil discussion. We need more of it rather than pety insults we see today in politics.

Firstly let me begin by saying I'm fully in support of Linekar and actually the OP of the thread so it's fairly clear where I stand.
As for friend, I merely know mic from playing call of duty a decade ago and recognised his tag on here, were not exactly friends or in contact. I'd say the same regardless of who it was.
There is a perception that left wing people can be a bit patronising and condescending at times and it's something I agree with and am conscious off.
At the end of the day we shouldn't assume everyone has the same background and knowledge or interest as ourselves. I'm pretty confident Mic probably isn't an avid politics follower and thus wouldn't be aware of some of the stats that I presented him.
But above all, we can't control other people's reactions or what they say. We are only responsible for our own. And even if he gets personal, we shouldn't reduce ourselves to that either.
There are probably others on here who share similar views but don't post because it's like entering the lions den. If you want to debate then we should do our best to be a bit more tolerant of others opinions.

Plus the bonus side of having more right wing posters is that I'm having a real delight winding them all up today about freedom of speech, cancel culture and being snowflakes. I think I'd really enjoy doing that here too.

The issue people have is her role for Refuge.
If you represent an organisation and say something so completely at odds with what they stand for, it isn't unreasonable for the organisation to end that relationship.
In any event Refuge haven't dropped her, so there is no cancellation that has happened.
I think we are going too far into user debates now. Can we have some course correction please? when the argument is going in a meaningless circle, block the other user and move on.
