BBC Impartiality

Does Gary have a few of these people living in his swanky home, or within close quaters to his million pound mansion by any chance?

He can feck off then.

Yes.

They will probably end up just showing the highlights with no presenters or pundits.

Yep in his actual own home.
Pics of blu-tac or it didn't happen.

I want pics of bearded men holding blu-tac, not the people near me who are following young women about. Robbing peoples washing lines and such strife.

That doesn't help mate. While I disagree with Mics view, he should be allowed to make it without being insulted.

Well that's just bad timing

If I was a broadcaster for a BBC competitor i'd just advertise The Gary Lineker Story at the same time of the MOTD, maybe with also the highlights of the game against Cameroon in 1990.

Maybe. And sometimes you need to just tell them to feck off and not humour them. He often pops up in such threads, posts shite, and then leaves without really engaging. It's pointless to even respond.

Remember when people continually argued that the BBC was an institution to be proud of, worth paying a licence fee for, and so much better than any possible alternative?

Feeling rather glad to have never contributed financially to that steaming turd of a broadcaster my entire adult life.

Victim blaming only aids the Tories aim of destroying the BBC.

As for the asylum issues going on, I agree it needs addressed. But it's the tories sitting on their hands not processing the claims and it's the tories which are then throwing them into hotels near people like yourself so they don't fill the communities of their wealthy backers in posher areas.

This plan by them was never going to be legal and the home security said there's more chance of it not being legal herself.

As for the comparisons to language of the nazis, I agree with it myself but happy to accept if you think otherwise.

With the above said. I don't think Gary Linekar is opposed to the asylum issues getting fixed. His issue is more with how the tories talk about them.

Fun Faxt: In 2021 72% of asylum claims were accepted in this country by the tories. The most since the tory party accepted 82% in the 90s. If they were all criminals like they say.. Why are they accepting 72% of the claims.

It's basically just a load of shit they're talking to try and start a culture war and blame others for the problems they made. Pretty sure you're from Liverpool Mic? So you should know as well as anyone about the lengths tories will go to to lie and avoid accountability.

Anyway I respect you may feel otherwise and we can agree to disagree if so.

What an utterly ludicrous post.

Doubly so as he actually does. Not that he needs to to hold an opinion.

The annoying thing with this forum is its a bit of a political echo chamber at times. I'm a member of a few others where we have left and right wing posters and the debate is healthy and enjoyable.

Sorry I guess I'm just trying to be diplomatic and it's quite nice to get an opposing view in too providing debate can be healthy.

This probably isn’t the place to address any concerns you have about that situation. Take it up with local council/ your MP.

I get that, but that particular poster never really gives proper debate.

I'm not from Liverpool mate. My family are from Middleton, Manchester. Though I live just on the outskirts.

Interesting read. Though in Essex or wherever the feck Lineker lives these days, would he be opposed to all the hotels dedicated to sheltering asylum seekers in his local vicinity?

That poster?

I rarely give this GD a look. I work full time. Mostly post in match threads and post in post match. Because I actually watch our matches dude..

There's protests going on outside hotels where I live.

There should be protests at this government that allowed all this shit in the first place, who is now gaslighting and pointing people at the wrong target.

You are literally being led down a path by people who care nothing for you, what is currently happening to make you feel this way, or these people. And no, this isn't a "vote labour and they'll fix it all!" post, as they are incompetent also. But it's more about time we stopped targeting those perceived as beneath us whilst the ones above us pull our strings.

You are SUPPOSED to be thinking and talking this way. It's what they want and what this situation is designed to do. I mean you don't even have to believe me, you can just look at the answers to your questions in here. YES Lineker does house immigrants, NO he's not speaking out without any thought for people and what they go through.

Sometimes, just sometimes, as bad as you see it outside your window (and I have similar near me, I'm not going to deny what's happening on the streets despite people trying to stop you speaking what you see) you have to look at why and who's ultimately responsible. Lineker isn't the target you should be aiming for, it's those who are making sure they stay in power above all else. Because they need the votes of people who will be outraged before actually thinking about who manufactured that outrage.

This post below sums it up:

You think Essex doesn't have a huge amount of immigration? Because I can sure as shit tell you right now you have that wrong. What you are led to believe and the actually reality are two different things. Again it's not about what you see in front of you, I can't dispute that and won't, but you have to think about why and who the real target is.

It surely isn't Lineker, no matter how much of a dickhead he can be at times. He is in the right here, you only have to look at the reaction from the Government to understand that.

My bad mate. Must be thinking of lenny or Limehouse.

I think he would be but I don't know for sure. It costs us 7 million a day and only something like 5% of claims in the past year have been processed.

If the government did their job and processed them in a timely manner then they would t be crowded into hotels.

In my opinion the problem is self inflicted and has been allowed to get this bad so they can use it as a tactic to gain support by playing on a man made problem.

Here is a very good explanation by Kenneth Clarke who is a former tory mp and a right wing gentleman. I think he explains it quite well despite being at opposite ends of the political spectrum from me:

I think you only have to look at the Russian situation to know just how dangerous and powerful propoganda can be, even utterly comically stupid Russian propoganda has caused significant damage all over Europe & the US..

Literally taken in refugees, so you can feck off instead?
Mate this doesn't help. I know I act the pillock in general but threads in here are meant to be serious. Personal insults do not help

They've already said they're not going to have anyone in the studio.
Probably because they can't get anyone. Not through choice. By saying they'll have no one in the studio it saves face from having Richard Madeley and Jeremy Clarkson presenting it.

Wasn't really an insult, have deleted my post though as you're right. :D

Find it bizarre someone can tell someone to feck off and not have it said back though, and I was simply asking a question.

BBC impartiality? Sounds like a great idea.

Love how Ian Wright and Alan Shearer are standing by Lineker

Most of EF was from Liverpool. With the exception of a couple from manchester, Lime was from London.

Others were from Sweeden, Denmark and Holland. Anyways..

I'm not sure how this pans out for the UK.

I won't mention Winston Churchills comments here. As it isn't PR

Disappointing capitulation here. Like Gary you should've stood your ground.

Does anyone watch MOTD for the punditry? Used to send me to sleep in my youth (Alan Hansen days). No studio presence could be the making of the show!

Or in all seriousness, BBC have truly fecked this non-story up at the behest of their Tory overlords and right wing press.
