What happened with Ballack at Chelsea is certainly mysterious. To say he was found out makes little sense, he was easily the most complete midfielder of his generation..
Apart from that if he had been found out he wouldn't have played as many games for Chelsea as he did.
Imagine starting 26 EPL games for a league and cup double winning side when you've been 'found out'.

I'd opine that he couldn't quite fit into a side where he wasn't the main man, and suffered as a result.
Indeed. His age also didn't help. He arrived when all he could do was go down as a player.

Utter bullshit. Ballack was successful enough in England for someone who arrived aged 29/30.

He was utter garbage for Chelsea and the above smacks of lame excuses.

Imagine telling Abramovich that the bloke he's paying obscene amounts of money to every week is going to be joining Shevchenko on the bench.

Tell that to Gianfranco Zola. Same club, very different outcome. Ballack is up there with Veron and Shevchenko in terms of foreign PL flops.

was the only player who showed up against a superior Spanish team, brilliant world cup, he has truly become an excellent player!

Yeah, pretty much. More so than Khedira anyway who didn't exactly help him much. He lost runners from midfield on numerous occasions tonight.

Excuse my foot. I don't need to drum up a single excuse for him. him. If I posted the stats of the number of games he played for Chelses in the league when fit you'd look very silly.

You're just insane if you really think Ballack spent any where near as much time as Shevchenko did on the bench.

Utter bullshit. You wouldn't know a true flop if one fell on you really. Your stament is clear proof of that.

I didn't say that - I suggested that the reason Ballack played as many games as he did for Chelsea while being so woefully ineffective was because Chelsea couldn't afford to totally waste the huge investment they'd made in him. Apologies if I was too subtle for you.

Didn't Ballack come over on a free? Am sure his wages were high but, they didn't have an expensive outlay for him.

Ballack had a great run of form at the end of 07/08 iirc, had an excellent second half to the season. Far better than Shevchenko ever was. But then Ballack was poor at best for the other 3 and a half years whereas Shevchenko was only there half as long so I'd say it evens itself out.

Schweinsteiger's looked quality, stick him alongside Fletcher and we could play a midfield two against the top teams again.

I didn't say that
You implied this. In addition to this crap below

On the contrary, I fully understood what you said and it's still bullshit. Ballack didn't cost Abramovich any serious dime to sign. If he was any where near as bad as you suggest he'd have been shipped out double quick. Even if it had been on loan like the likes of Boulharouz and Schevchenko.

Ballack was the best CM in the world in 2002, he declined steadily from there and by the time he joined Chelsea he was just another overpaid mercenary of limited importance.

Accurate assessment.

He was one of the few if not the only one who tried to carry the ball and create openings. It's hard to do it when you're surrounding by pussies

I'd pay a lot of money for Schweinsteiger. Looks to be the complete central midfielder, and very well suited to the Premiership.

No chance Bayern would sell though.

He'd be an upgrade on Diarra, no doubt about it.

His contract runs out in 2012 (when he's 27). If he's sold it will be in the next 12 months, otherwise Bayern will lose out an his transfer fee.

Fletcher---Schweinsteiger
------Sneijder-----------
Valencia----------Nani---
--------Rooney----------

We can't afford to buy him now. He has a great WC and he is from Bayern, so that means we totally can't afford him.

Schweinsteiger open to departure

Bastian Schweinsteiger insists he is happy at Bayern Munich but has suggested he could be open to a move abroad.

• Bayern rule out star sales

Schweinsteiger, 25, has been linked with a number of top clubs around Europe after an impressive World Cup with Germany, and Real Madrid and Chelsea are believed to have shown interest.

Bayern have stated that they have no intention of selling Schweinsteiger but, while he is happy at the Allianz Arena, the midfielder has refused to rule out a transfer.

"There are always a few offers, but I have a contract with Bayern until 2012 and I respect the contract and the club," he told Bild am Sonntag.

Schweinsteiger confirmed he has considered his future, but said: "I know that there is something great at Bayern. We didn't reach the Champions League final without good reason - and to win it is my ambition."

Asked if he would consider moving on to achieve that goal, he said: "To end this talk I will just say that I am not married to Bayern. The Bundesliga is great, and has become more important, but if I were to move on then, of course, the idea of going abroad is what excites me."

Irrelevant, Bayern will not even entertain the idea of selling him for anything under ludicrous numbers, numbers that we'll never pay for any player.

Might be a decent outside bet for Madrid though, the sort of player Mourinhio would be looking for to play alongside alonso in his prefered formation, and Perez will pay anything to get the players he wants as proven time and again by the chief transfer muppet.

He's absolutely superb. Rare to find such a complete footballer. Strong, skillful and no nonsense. Another potential Essien. I never thought I'd say that. Really like him.

I just read on the Welt Fussball that Bayern will commit both Lahm and Schweini to the club. Bayern would never let go of Schwein, or Lahm, or Mueller. Never, ever.
