Seriously, considering the fact that we don't have a midfield, who really cares how much we're spending on a world class player like schweiny?
He's injury prone though. For £10m, it's worth the risk. For £32m, no thanks. This could be Hargreaves all over again. That money would be better spent elsewhere.

Right translate this.
This story looks fake, but I would take him for 40m in a heartbeat.

Pirlo has been World Class for the past how many seasons? 40 million Euros for Schweinsteiger in a world of £27millions for Fellaini and Shaw. I say to Noel, DEAL!!! :D

Pirlo is out of contract too come to think of it

right I don't care what anyone thinks but he is the one midfielder for the last 5/6 years I wanted us to buy above anyone.
He is still a class player and then we can look at some younger options to supplement.
He would be a class addition and instantly strengthen us not just as a player but as a leader.

I couldn't care less how much we spent on Schweinsteiger quite funny how people forget he was the best midfielder in Europe last season and by quite a distance but I still think we have no chance getting him.

number 7 Arturo VIDAL! hooray ...... number 8 Bastian SCHWEINSTEIGER! hooray ....... then I got off the bus :p

and number 11, manchester united player of the year, barclays premier league player of the year and the world player of the year Adnan JAUZAJJJJJJJ! WAYYYYYYYYYYYY! :D

I'd sign him for upto 25-27mn GBP. I think he is quality. But paying anything above that and you pay a 15-20mn premium for any player below the age of 25. Wrong signals and all that.

Is he not simply stating that a summer pursuing an unlikely target is a waste of energy and a distraction?

It's standard fare on here - every thread is filled with "it's never going to happen" posts.

Everyone knows that it's difficult to sign top players - but you'd think fans would be happy if and when their club showed a bit of ambition, rather than being totally negative all the time.

As it is in this case, given that the talk is he might not be guaranteed a place, he's at the age where any big move needs to happen soon and we have a coach here who he has positive history with. Of all the players who we've been linked to this one actually might possibly have some legs.

BILD and Schweinsteiger = a special story - maybe he has not been very corporative with them or ate their reporter's last crisps...:D

Actually right now or in the last weeks it seems that BILD with some commentaries starts to go for the old feud with him again - especially Raimund Hinko their leading Bayern reporter in his column for the SPORTBILD. So, even if the Bild sometimes ain't on the wrong track - with Schweinsteiger it is a special story.

About the whole thing. Usually Bayern does not let anybody go - but Hoeneß is in prison and somehow it seems that they miss something as where Hoeneß always was the one that cared about the players personally and asked them for the problems - Rummenigge just is another type of person, more businesslike - he just might have his door open but I do not know how many players really would like to go in their with their matters. You can say anything bad about Hoeneß and for sure not everything was well - but whenever possible he e.g. sat on the card table in the bus with Lahm, Neuer and Müller or the former players and kept a more fatherlike relationship with them. Often not good for the coach, but...

Schweinsteiger lately told that he really nearly leaving 2 or 3 years ago but he was reluctant to win a European title with Bayern - and that is why he stayed. He has the title - and it could be that he considers to make a last move. But I am not sure if that would be Manchester United even if he and van Gaal got along very well - but e.g. Mourinho was trying it sometimes in the recent years and I remember that Schweinsteiger chatted very long with Abramovic 2 years ago during the Euros in Charkow. So if he would leave there would be more options - it would not be like with Müller whose only move would be to van Gaal as much as I can imagine.

And of course, TREBLE WINNING MANAGEEEEEEER! LOUIS VAN GAAL!!

I'd like to think we were not completely stupid and wouldn't put all of our eggs in the same basket, only to end up with those eggs all over our faces. But after the Fellaini disaster last season where we paid £4m more for absolutely no reason at all, I think people have reason to be concerned that those doing the business at United aren't the shrewdest operators.

I'd be happy to lay a bet that we won't sign any players from Bayern, Real or Barcelona, despite getting linked to 20 across the three teams.

Im certain the club will be pursuing numerous targets based on the managers instructions. They brought in Mata in January and those involved will doubtless have learned from last summer. They may muck it up again but we won't know that until the end if the summer so why moan before we even get there?

We are a big club with a new, top level coach playing in arguably the most popular league in the world. We need quality and are seemingly willing to pay huge wages to get those players in. It's an exciting proposition and players of the quality we want will no doubt be interested.

Some are going on like we're relegation fodder and and its tedious. They don't know what's going on behind the scenes or what the club are doing.

The biggest laugh is that some are never happy. Buy a Fellaini and its all criticism and banging on about how we need better players. When the club try to get those players it's a pointless waste of time. It's a joke.

If there's a chance he might be moving on and the manager fancies him there is no reason at all why the club shouldn't look into it.

For some reason, I was thinking he is 32-33. Still 29 and will be 30 in August. Can easily get 3 or so good years out of him. It will be fantastic if we finally sign him after being interested him in the past, especially during his peak days. He is still not completely past it imo so can be a very good addition in our midfield.

Worth the transfer fee to see her in a red shirt alone. If there's ever been a more perfect photo taken I don't want to know about it.

I thought Juventus were talking about offering him a new one or have already offered him a new contract?

Him and Kroos would really be my muppet signings. Schweinsteger is my favorite midfielder playing right now and Kroos is on my top 5 list.

I'm baffled by these generalisations these days. 'Men like their men with meat on their bones' ... 'Shes skinny as feck' ... 'Needs to eat more she's anorexic' ... Or maybe she has very good genes, is healthy, works out and eats well.

It's a double standard. You can call someone anorexic and no one is apparently allowed to take offence, but call someone fat and all hell breaks loose.
