I'm aware of Pogba's lack of self-discipline, but I'm also aware that given the correct partner he'd be less inclined to stray and get caught out of position. I actually think both players lack discipline and get dragged into all sorts of positions they shouldn't.
Fellaini is playing out of his skin at the moment, it's not good enough though. I'd much prefer the Basti or Carrick, their experience would be huge, rotate the pair of them and feck off the average players.

Would be worth a try in my opinion. Even though they are old, but both players can dictate the game and have a much better build-up play compared to Herrera, Schneiderlin or Fellaini. Just rotate them, but I guess Schweinsteiger is utterly out of the question. Mourinho made his decision.. . Just look at Alonso, old but still influential for Bayern. Schweinsteiger and Carrick just have to rest now and then (which should be easy, since the squad is big enough).

I know whenever a player is out of the team and the team has a loss there's always a massive clamour for said player, but it really does seem like Schweinsteiger has something to offer. A league cup outing could be something of a litmus test.
I don't know what Bastian could've done to really piss off half the squad, but by that logic they should be playing Spanish Inquisition with Rooney.

Same here. I think him and Pogba could be a good partnership. Pogba had Pirlo at Juventus. He needs that experience beside him at United. Rooney isn't it. Thats laughable to even suggest. He's doesn't even remotely resemble a midfielder.

He was the best midfielder we had....not saying he was great or even good but he was the best of a bad bunch. Interestingly, he is the only one who doesnt deserve to play again for us because he wasnt at required level, for others we just ignore their level of performances in past year or so....
The only time the philosophy or whatever the feck we were trying last season looked competent was with Schweinsteiger playing. The game against Everton at Goodison was our best all season, and he was the best player on the pitch

Our defense was a shambles from the start of the season to the end of the season, but we held a good defensive record early on when Schweinsteiger was playing and fit. He did a very good job of keeping things calm, organized and he took exceptional care of the ball.
The moment he would go off, or the moment he was out injured, it all went tits up. Every time the other team counter attacked, we were disorganized, in disarray and looked freaking terrible.

Bastian should be played if only to get the best out of Pogba. It's no good playing two headless chickens alongside each other, better to drop Fellaini and play Basti instead and let him help Pogba.
